That is one thing that brings me back to my SBGR251 over and over, its understated perfection. While it looks like a basic silver dial, it has such a dynamic look and several people have commented on how it looks luxury without the Rolex price tag (I wear it more often than my datejust).
I mean instead of just mentioning the imperfection as a fact, why not explain what's imperfect about it? You don't actually show where the faults are or give us a comparison to a perfect one. I don't have a GS so how am i supposed to know what's wrong with the watch you're inspecting? Even if this video was 4K, what am i supposed to be looking for? It's the central theme of the video? My main man, then show us the juice.
Good point, I should have overlaid some arrows like I did in the last video where the details were much worse. I assumed by watching the macro shots and listening to my descriptions, it would adequately convey the disappointing aspects. My viewers are normally Eagle-eyed and find issues that are clearly visible. "The lines on the top of each marker are not as crisp as what I've seen from them in the past, the polishing is imperfect, and there are even a few marks here and there"
Pretty sure I would feel a little douchey wearing a watch this glittery in anything other than a very formal setting, BUT... I can't stop thinking about how nice that polished case looks. o_o
Totally agree on QC, this has been a major issue with the Seiko org... They need to fix this as I'm not splashing $6k on a substandard luxury piece and brand that champions itself on finish, craftsmanship and finesse.
LMAO I’ve also just recently seen this watch , and yeah that’s pretty darn close 🐖 It is definitely no Shunbun ; I think that one forever stands alone .
Thanks for this review. I agree with you, Grand Seiko really needs to have high quality to compete in it's class. As an owner of a sbgy026, I certainly want them to do well.
I don’t think this is exclusive to Grand Seiko, from Tudor to Rolex and even on random other watches I’ve seen a decrease in the macro finishing. I think these companies are producing way too many watches atm - QC is def an issue. Most black bay 58s now are misaligned, most Rolexes are loose bezels, hands are rough as hell on most watches
Add a micro adjustment to bracelet and I can buy GS again. Listen to the market so people like me will buy again. Tudor, Omega, Rolex and Breitling all figured it out.
I don‘t really need ma as I was owning a GS and figured out a tight fit as I like it but they need to improve their grandpa bracelet in general. It‘s no competition to an AT oder Rolex bracelet. That‘s why I sold my GS and got a Sub Date instead if it‘s my only watch so no need for me to keep hold the GS. I don‘t understand why Seiko does not listen to their customers. This ignorance behavior turned me off the brand and I‘m not a leather strap guy.
@@Schnitzeljunge I have 2 GS that I really love. For me it’s the fact the screws are made of putty and strip super easy. Plus no micro adjustments. I can’t wear watches tight because I have a vein on the side of my wrist that cuts off feeling to my hand. That’s why it’s so important to me. But they could have at minimum used solid screws that are easy to remove so you can adjust them at home. As soon as they come out with a micro adjustment bracelet I will definitely pick up one of their dive watches. I really do love the dials and bezels. But they have the same clasp as the $200 dive watches. I have 4 Rolex myself. 41mm Dayjust yellow gold jubilee Wimbledon dial, 42mm Yacht Master White gold oyster flex, 40mm Yacht Master blue dial and Explorer 39mm. Ironically I wear the Explorer a lot. Super comfortable and great lume at night. Currently wearing Tudor Pelagos 42mm blue ceramic while writing this. I will be adding a sub and gmt though for sure.
Watch folks love a good bullshit story and claiming the colors are inspired because of this or that is great. It's also okay to just say you wanted a pretty pink watch. "This muted, speckled brown takes inspiration from the deuce i dropped today"
I saw this called "the Wagyu" and can't shake it 😂

bro i literally sat up when i saw the thumbnail. That dial is stunning!
It is a beautiful dial
Way more stunning in person
I cant see any of the qc issues you mentioned in this video?
Tops of each markers. Edges of hands ans markers

I don't like it but I am not saying why! 😂
Need 4k for multiple reasons.

Their US service center is horrible. I would avoid at all cost
Nice dial color, though, but what happened to the quality control guys then? Is there any way you could email them about this concern?
Awesome Bruce... Appreciate that you call out the flaws as you see it... Wish more established guys had the guts to do this...
In the video, the color looks really nice, I would wear it for sure.
I am lucky to have a Grand Seiko boutique nearby and went by to look and they look incredible. I hope the quality control isn’t becoming a big issue
That watch is beautiful
NGL GS drops yet another gem of a watch. The story is bs but that dial speaks for itself. I hope Seiko in general get their QC under control.
Omg that dial. I’ll be honest I’m not into GS but they are amazing in person
They really shine 'in the metal'
There are 15 GS watches with some lake Sewer motif over their dials… all cases are the same. It is becoming boring isn’t it?
Great watch.... i love it. I need more money to buy more watches :)
Pretty sure I would feel a little douchey wearing a watch this glittery in anything other than a very formal setting, BUT... I can't stop thinking about how nice that polished case looks. o_o
keep up the great work bruce. Wonderful videos.
I appreciate that
I want to know the exact second that the sun rises over lake suwa!!!
I'm still waiting for the tapered bracelet over Lake Suwa, and the Mt. Iwate quick-adjust clasp.
cant wait for them to release a yellow dial and call it fresh piss on fine snow
Cat Piss Yellow 😂
“Stumbling out from the all-night Izakaya at 6:50 AM and peeing like a sailor on the fresh snow as the sun starts rising over Osaka Bay…” 🌅 🇯🇵 ❄️
Loool I love GS and I own one but this nature shit needs to stop. Too many watches. They need to consolidate IMO.
I have one and I say the dial color is peach.
Totally agree on QC, this has been a major issue with the Seiko org... They need to fix this as I'm not splashing $6k on a substandard luxury piece and brand that champions itself on finish, craftsmanship and finesse.
It is sad and true
Beautiful watch, but Grand Seiko, please do me a favor and remove the power indictor from the dial or make it more symetric, maybe a full circle.
I have an GS urban bamboo and I’ve not noticed any quality issue
Great to hear
I nickname this reference 'The Wagyu' because of its very marbeled meaty dial 🥩
Dear Bruce
Did you see the new Arsenale of Venezianico?? so thin and so Parmigiani.
With great appreciation
Nizar
I haven't seen it in person yet, but the pics l've seen online look real sharp
No date, 38 mm with that dial would be to die for
I like to call this the Grand Seiko "Spam"
I think your comment is span rn... I have 4 GS and by experience I can say they're not spam
@@expertreviews1112 you gotta relax. I have 4 grand seiko myself and the colour on this dial looks like spam.
They could go international, and call it the Vienna Sausage!

Sir your videos are always great but Sir please make your videos in 4k
Inexcusable

2:16 even the date no 6 isn't painted correctly!
The color ranges from salmon to seedless watermelon. There.
Well said
I would get a GS but I hate their bracelets.
I would add having a date wheel that is not colour matched!!
GS taking a cue from Seiko. 😅
It's pink!
Akeem Rapids
That power reserve is very unfortunate.
I wish the power meter would move to the back. The current position just looks unbalanced.
PR on the back army is back... there are plenty of Evo9 models that come with it... leave this iconic design alone..
@expertreviews1112 I'm new to GS (and luxury watches in general), so thanks for the tip of the model name.
GS need to GTF with US only releases.
Grand Seiko lost it ages ago IMO.
Broken promises and same old same old.
I was hoping for so much more.

If you want a better GS buy JDM
Lovely watch, ridiculously overpriced.
Grand Seiko damn boring now
You think this is a boring watch? lol I wonder what you think is an exciting one?
@@BruceWilliams Another 44GS case with a snowflake variant dial in a different colour. Yeah that's really exciting. They're just phoning it in
