  • Muay Thai and kickboxing highlight of the left kick legend Samkor Kiatmontep ("ไอ้ค้างคาว" สามกอ เกียรติมนต์เทพ).
    Samkor was a southpaw muay tae (kicker) who bossed his opponents with his ridiculously powerful left body kick, winning Lumpinee titles (122, 130 and 135 lbs) in one of the most competitive eras in the sport's history.
    He defeated all of the big names in Thailand during the late nineties/early 2000s including Wangchannoi Sor Palangchai, Karuhat Sor Supawan, Lamnammoon Sor Sumalee, Sangtiennoi Sor Rungroj, Jaroensap Kiatbanchong, Nungubon Sitlerchai, Saenchai, Kaoponlek Luksuratham, Nontachai Kiatwanlop, Namsaknoi Yutthakarnkhamtorn, Jompoblek Sor Sumalee, Therdkiat Sittepitak and Attachai Por Samranchai (Fairtex).
    After dominating the Thai scene, Samkor set out to conquer Japan and Europe where he defeated many great Japanese and western fighters with his devastating left leg. He ended his career with 248 wins from 300 fights.

      Bruce Lee acknowledged muay thai very early as being effective. The low kick was simply something that a lot of other arts to didn't practice or teach. Because of that, they didn't know how to defend themselves from the low kicks either.

      Ian F Just from watching both of them I would hazard a guess that samkor kicked even harder than yod, seemed more explosive, yods seem slower and more thudding and judging by the reaction of samkors opponents to his kicks, he made seasoned fighters look like they had never been kicked before lol. @@joesheridan9451 The angle a lefty kicks a rightie with is pretty much perfect. But we tend to forget that the angle is as sweet for the rightie as it is for the lefty. Perhaps the leftie is taught to utlize the mid kick more. I know I kick way more as a leftie than as a rightie.

    • @wilmmichael3629
      @wilmmichael3629 5 лет назад

    To people who think the kicks when the other person appears down are illegal.... In Muay Thai, knockdowns aren't defined the same as we do in the west. You have to have a hand touch the mat. A lot of westerners have lost thinking they were fighting dirty when it was simply a difference in rules.

Sakchai was gunned down in his hotel , without a doubt the biggest mystery in the sport history ) , Payap Premchai ( made Rob Kaman his girlfriend while being 10 kg less than him by simply launching those ICBM of kick at the Dutchman ) , Sakmongkol ( legend , GOAT , best ever , he had it all but his left leg is without a doubt the best in the entire golden era an era that is considered the best and Sakmongkol AD the best left kick of that era , also when he was 17 he easily made Dekkers his bitch by giving him the beating of a lifetime ) '
