Ohtani publicly vouched for him before Game 5 when nobody else other than Roberts believed in him. This is why winning and team mentality is what makes a championship team. Yep. Japanese is huge on seniority. It's like their society is based on it. So that was a gesture of a senior commending his junior for a job well done, not condescending.

Something that gets missed is that the Dodgers didn’t sign Yamamoto to be their ace THIS season. Everyone brings up his massive contract as if he was Cole starting in NY. They want him to be their ace in a couple seasons, he wasn’t meant to carry this team this year. That’s why they also signed Glasnow and were hoping Beuhler, Kershaw, Paxton and then later Flaherty to provide that experience. This was the transition season and he is still shoving.
Even though Darvish gave up 2 HRs in a little over 6 innings vs Yamamoto giving up 0 in his 4 innings, I feel like Darvish pitched better. He had more strikeouts and you can say luck was in Yamamoto's side a little. Those ground huts could've easily passed by, and the 2 hits by Machado was almost a homerun, just feel a little short. Overall though, good pitching Nighy by both Japanese pitchers. I'm proud of them
The report said that Yamamoto was tipping the pitches especially when a runner was on second base in Game 1 or maybe whole season against Padres. Roberts said they worked it out but I got to admit that I had my share of doubt on many accounts. My apologies for doubting Roberts and Yamamoto. Thank you for proving me wrong big time.
I don't think Yamamoto was really tipping pitches last game...but who knows. I looked for everything I could, and nothing really jumped out. I think he just was better yesterday and he said that. His mechanics felt better and his velo was up.

Yamamoto pitched in big games when he was in NPB, he could've gone 7 innings but Roberts made the right call.
Yamamoto hasn't pitched more than 75pitches in over 3months.
Right we should think he's not fully recovered.
This is the only MLB theme page that Ain't biased. Love watching Pitching Ninja as Always
this is the best, most informative, most entertaining MLB show, I appreciate you guys!
thanks!
Appreciate it Andrew!
amazing pitching display from two Japanese pitchers. Japan is the real winner out of this series.
Padres choking is a thing of beauty
Alex vesia is the most energetic reliever lol
100%
Pretty sure that was Kopech
@@RunForPeace-hk1cu Kopech brings it too, but Vesia is next level.
Unfortunately got injured😢
Yamamoto and Darvish are the man. Yamamoto will be worth that 300M

Have you seen how much Ohtani loves Decoy? It’s a compliment

Good boi decoy petting😂
Shohei should’ve give some treats to Yamamoto after petting him
Sunflower seeds or something 😂
Both great start
the Padres did Yu dirty. he pitched his heart out.

But it didn't
Yeah Yamamoto pitched high up the zone that day, the problem was on padres
Padres drank Choke-a-cola. The Dodgers didn’t.
Padres offense really abandoned Darvish, who was awesome!
I guess Will is a serial killer now. Everybody fears the Garden State Madman

The Dodgers still have Shohei coming back from his injury😂
Man you jinxed tarik skubal
yamamoto is doing it.
Let’s go DODGERS!!!💙🤍💙🤍
⚾️🥷!
That dong bump would have caused me to strike out ijs
Still best pitcher in the league though
Ninja, any thoughts on the Dodgers picking up Paul Skenes in a couple of years?
I hope he stays in Pittsburgh and they build a winner around him....but yeah, he's from Orange County, so I wouldn't be surprised.
