you are so right! Thats why when Phish was just an up & comming band they looked up to Creek as a major influence, and when Bill Krutzman of the Grateful Dead needed a lead guy for his band, he went to Scott...Max Creek, so under rated
No SHIT. I live in Philly now. When I try and tell people about Creek. They say things like "OH They're like a DEAD cover band or something right" I just want to Punch them in the face when I hear that.
I loved this and was there for a few of the Creek shows at the vibes as well as 300 or so other Creek shows over the years since 1985. This is my favorite band!!!! I have turned on people from 30 different states to these guys and most, of course, love em!!!! what's not to love. Let's face it if you have been jamming as long as these guys you better be good or get out of the game!!! These guys are that good and wayyy better!!!!
I was down in the ruins, digging one day when the scenery just fell away. The sun, the stones, the sky and me back at the dawn of history. There I was standing in the very same place a different name, a different face. I felt like I just fell out of line, fell down through a hole in time. Old stones, broken bones, nobody calls you on the telephone. Long night, watch the stars, Venus, Jupiter, and Mars. I though I was a Druid priest, I saw the sun move from west to east. Moved across the zodiac, to guide all the planets in their tracks. Hey Professor, what can this be? Calculus, Astronomy? Lost Atlantis or rocket ships? Or a flashback from that acid trip? Old stones, broken bones, nobody call you on the telephone. Long night, watch the stars, Venus, Jupiter, and Mars. Issac Newton, Einstein too, I can tell 'em just what to do. We're just two feet, two hands, and eyes, and lots up top to watch the skies. But someones bound to call your bluff, if your best just isn't good enough. I didn't have a time machine, a rocket ship, a steam engine. Old stones, broken bones, nobody call you on the telephone. Long night, watch the stars, Venus, Jupiter, and Mars. I came through the sun was hot. I looked around. I done forgot, where I was, or who I've been, it all seemed like some crazy dream. There was a bus, and a guided tour, with a bunch of old hippies from Baltimore. A hot-dog stand and a TV crew. What happened to me, could happen to you. Old stones, broken bones, nobody call you on the telephone. Long night, watch the stars, Venus, Jupiter, and Mars. Old stones, broken bones, I guess they won't leave you alone Draw a circle around you twice, Once for fire, once for ice.
These guys have to be one of the most underrated bands of all time....
