I am so happy that people of your neighbourhood will benefit from our collective contribution! They need it, especially in this time of year… Thank you for what you are doing, Caroline!
That donation just warms my heart! So many generous spirits came together to make it happen…thanks for sharing the results. And, thanks for letting us know about next year’s advent. I didn’t know about it this year but am sure enjoying it vicariously!
Thanks for the update on the donations to support the efforts to clothe and feed people in the workshop's neighborhood. Such a worthwhile effort, and so generous of everyone to create and make the pattern available! Off to a stitching gathering this morning where I'll work on Day 16.
I am certainly joining in on next year's advent calendar. It will be my third time. It is sooooooooo much fun to have a little gift each day. This year I planned all of my days around this stitching to be sure I don't fall behind and so far so good. Good luck with all of your hard work Hannah.
The donation is fantastic and I love that you give back to your community. The counted canvas piece is gorgeous. I am off to find your videos regarding that type of stitching.😊
Congratulations on the funds raised with Laura's chart for such a great cause. It's a fine chart as well. The counted canvas piece is beautiful. Hope I can get in on next year's holiday SAL. I may have some stitching chops by then. Thank you for all you and your team do.
You and everyone at Evertotes and Jacob and MFE are such good people. What a lovely gift to your neighborhood. I’m buying the chart today. I’ll definitely join next year’s SAL. I watched last year, joined this year with just the chart, picking Roxy floss from my collection. It’s been a challenge but very satisfying. I’m running about one day behind but will have this finished in a very timely fashion. I may have to start breaking down my other projects like this. Things become entirely manageable when not looking at the entire project! Today is my first day of retirement. Now I get to see who I am without a job😊
Wow! It is so exciting the amount of money raised for the church's mission to the homeless. Thank you to you and Jacob for providing a way for us to contribute to this cause. I am already planning to participate in next year's countdown to Christmas. John's soup sounds wonderful. You are blessed to have a chef in your family. Soup is one of our favorite meals in the winter. We made potato corn chowder for dinner last night.
I finally bought Laura's Frisian Sampler yesterday... hopefully my purchase will be added to a future donation to the church, should have done it earlier. Definitely wanted to purchase this because this has been instrumental in finding Evertote and Jacob de Graaf. As a quilter (for decades) in The Netherlands I have only recently become interested in cross stitch and in samplers in particular. A quilter I know had recently begun with cross stitch and also told me about floss tubes, I had no idea what these were. Her tastes are somewhat different from mine both in projects and floss tubes, but from one floss tube video (or part of) I moved on to another one, another one etc until I came across the video of Brenda and the Serial Starter who had just returned from the Jacob Palooza retreat. His name sounded soooo Dutch and then she held up Laura's Frisian Sampler. Being Dutch it just literally hit home. THEN I knew that I wanted to cross stitch and where my interests in cross stitch lay. I found Jacob's floss tube chanel and have been watching only his video's from #1 right up until now.... he is like my favorite history teacher in school, I can listen (and watch) for hours. Love so many of his designs and they are all inspired by history, oh the stories he tells, the research! So being the ever-student that I am ('eeuwige student ' we say in Dutch) I wanted to learn about cross stitch and samplers from scratch and found a lady in the East of our country, who teaches techniques but also how to design your own sampler, had my first all day class last week. Not that I necessarily want to design my own samplers but it will increase my understanding of them. So a start has been made. Love this stitch along , such a beautiful design, materials, Jacob's cards, all the extra's..... I might just sign up next year if it is anything like this year in design and color... even though it would cost a a lot in shipping and import and custom duties to get it. I love what I see on the Evertote and MFE websites, such inspiring designs, such beautiful floss, I see a lot of cross stitch enjoyment in my future. Thank you everyone at Evertote, Kerri, Jacob for all the inspiration and enjoyment (also watching the video's) and hopefully many more people will still buy Laura's Frisian Sampler so a next donation will be forthcoming. Have a wonderful holiday season and kind regards, Phyllis White
Hi Caroline! Ramen noodle soup - I need to know more! I love that counted canvas piece. I have always wanted to know more about counted canvas so I am definitely going to search out your videos about it.
He undersells it majorly 😂😂😂 It's a Gordon Ramsey recipe that you have to visit the Asian supermarket in order to make it properly and it makes THE WHOLE HOUSE smell amazing. We ate it for three nights in a row and now I'm sad that it's gone.
Congratulations on raising such an impressive donation for the church! I'm going to go looking for your counted canvas videos, Caroline. I used to do a lot of needlepoint, even with "fancy stitches," back in the 70s and 80s before everyone started selling only painted canvases. (Which I seldom enjoyed, and they are quite expensive as well!) There's a designer in the States whose name escapes me, but she has a number of charts based on traditional quilt blocks, using a variety of fibers and textured stitches. If I can find it, I'll come back and add the information about her web shop. Another problem I had was that all the local needlepoint shops stopped selling canvas by the yard. I have no idea anymore where to get blank canvas for counted work. I'm open to suggestions. I love the piece you showed us today.
Textured Treasures here in Ontario had a shop at Stitch North this past spring and she specializes in canvas work and has a LOT of kits etc. She would be my go to for canvas, or would know where to get. Agreed - I used to get mine from my LNS before they retired. Fortunately I still have uncompleted kitted WIPs to finish but one day I'll also be on the lookout for supplies. texturedtreasures.ca/ She would be a great resource!
Oh! my goodness!!!! Such a wonderful donation especially for this time of year! Quick question? - will all future sales of this same chart be still donated ? ( my apology if you already answered this in your blog…) Thankyou for all you folks do at Evertote!
Sign me up in 2024! Is there any way to make the day's stitches a different color than black so they stand out? I am also having a bit of trouble distinguishing symbols. Getting old! 😂

Wow, awesome donation! We are so blessed with a generous stitchy community.
I’m so glad to hear there’ll be a countdown stitch next year, because this is the second year I’ve thought I
“I wish was stitching this!”

Holiday Tree #1. Was part of her 12 months series with the tree being December. I have stitched tree 1, 2 and 3
Good morning! The chart donation is such a huge amount. That is fabulous! We’ve done good! I’ve started the chart and it is a lovely stitch.
