i felt this way about my husband! years into the relationship i still had a small fear at the back of my mind that he'd say "Gotcha! You fell for it!" I think it says more about my insecurities than his attractiveness hahaha
But sometimes they don't, or at least I feel like they shouldn't (and I don't mean for the same reasons in the skit). A classmate of mine would talk to me a lot more than others, bought me a few gifts after coming back from a weekend vacation in Mexico, and then asked to eat lunch with me at the campus cafe. I told him I'd pay for it, but he payed for it without me noticing. Later during lunch, he said he thought we were similar and wanted to get to know me more. This all happened within a span of three weeks of having classes together. 😅 As someone who exclusively likes people I've been friends with for months or years, that could not be me. Like how do you convince yourself you really like someone that much when you barely know them? I personally don't think I'm very attractive physically, so that doesn't help. I suppose he liked the persona I put on in class. He was cute and rich too, but also very quiet. I didn't know he was rich or that quiet (because he always talked to me) until half a year after I rejected him. So, him being quiet is something I would have found out later and not clicked with. I don't know... maybe it's because I don't want to date to get to know someone and just want to date someone I think I already want to marry. I've been questioning whether I'm demisexual, if that helps communicate how I feel.
I actually asked that when I was in school haha. The guy was just as perplexed. Worst part is that he asked out of nowhere and in front of his sister who was a friend of mine too. Ahhh!
Im just going to put it in my headcanon that youre an ai bot meant to drive traffic by putting automated relevant responses on videos. Because the idea that Ive never in 34 years been asked out by a single woman in my life, even a buttugly wildabeast twice my age, not once makes it too infuriating to believe its possible. But if youre not a bot, good for you on picking a keeper. Stupid robot.
That happened to me in high school. She asked me out, I thought she was joking, I laughed and moved on. Turns out she wasn't; but by the time I realized, the opportunity had passed.
I get it. Don’t want to say yes and realise you got punked. And then you become the loser for not “reading the room” and reading her mind to know that she obviously wasn’t into you. Like “oh you’re so ugly you should have known it was fake”. It’s another toxic, childish game people like to play to assure themselves of their place in the hierarchy; boost their ego by reminding themselves that yes, they are hot and everyone wants to date them, regardless of if it’s actually feasible, and reassuring themselves of their place in the social hierarchy.
@@Johncornwell103It’s not so much that but rather not being taken seriously or being stereotyped and thought to be a certain way or do certain things because of how you look.
Oh mannnn when a girl asked me out in highschool I deadass said "Well, you've run out of options haven't you?"... of all the worst mistakes I made that was one of them.
See, you should've phrased it "Have you run out of options or something?" so at least you can play it off as a legitimate question. I don't blame you. I wouldn't have trusted a girl in high school either.
@@Theomite It was also that no girl ever liked me then lol and even now the ones that do tend to be toxic. I was just the guy they used to make their boyfriends jealous or the one they never dated because they didn't want to ruin our friendship or end up not liking me in the end. Still goes like that a lot tbh
It has happened to me with many crushes. But you start talking to them and suddenly you realize once again that they are troubled souls too. They fear, hope, cry and struggle too. And i love them more
Best way to talk to people is realize that what a person is really just a vat of meat that makes electric signals and chemicals and if medical science was advanced enough their self could exist in another container than the body they are currently in.
Lyanna is easily my favourite Aussie comedian because her humour is so relatable and so funny, poking fun at stereotypes without being mean. In this instance so many of us have these nagging intrusive thoughts like this. I had a similar conversation in my head when this woman whom I believed was totally out of my league, so much so that she wasn’t just in a different league, but a different sport, asked me out. I couldn’t understand why such a beautiful and successful woman would want to be with a loser like me. It turned out I’m not a loser, just lacked self esteem. She became my girlfriend, but that didn’t last long… because she became my wife and we are happily married. Every day is heaven with that woman. She’s so sweet and kind. She adores me and gives me the confidence I never knew was there. Don’t be afraid to punch above your weight because sometimes people see you for who you truly are and not the distorted version you tell yourself in moments of self doubt.
Yeah I can fully relate to this. I met some pretty and kind girls that even said they wanted to date me and my reaction was exactly the same as in this short. Years of making fun of me in school caused that. My mistake was not breaking from that self toxing cycle and threw away my cynicism. My advice: forget about the league. It's nothing more than bs. Stay focused on your person, so you and at least give a chance not only to some folks but also and foremost to yourself.
I'm so sorry that you went through bullying. 💔 That is a terrible, terrible, horrific thing to endure. I wish you healing, comfort, & peace . It sounds like you are well on your way & have figured out some very important things . 💗 You deserve the very best! ❤️
@@redwoodrebelgirl3010 don't be sorry. It's in the past and I plan to move on. Thanks for your kind words though. One can and only need to move forward.
Maybe, maybe not. One time I did it to let him down easy, the other time I genuinely thought he had some sort of bet going on and didn't want to be the butt of the joke. So I was like "Haha, hilarious."
You can tell when they are being fake though. Real shock is hard to match. Also if they don't like you it will be obvious unless you're ignoring the signs.
Beautiful people don't say such things out loud. But this is exactly how they think. They really do snort when they laugh -- because people let them do anything they want for their entire life. Good touch.

Some people even feed your insecurities. I had a friend (not close) telling me after seeing the person who was interested in dating me." Girl, he's fine, but how come he wants to be with you? 😢😮"
Ha ha ha. I feel this. No way you’re ACTUALLY talking to me. It’s gotta be the gal behind me. It’s okay, I get nervous talking to people too but you really don’t need to use me as a buffer.
"I'm so sorry, I didn't know you are blind!"
Damn😂😂
reminds me of how I got a gf
That’s a lift harsh now
She is a cutie, this has never happened
"Because I like you?" "You must have hit your head pretty hard" XD honest reaction right there.
I mean, I would have assumed the same.
This is exactly how I got a gf
that turn around was CRISP
Haha 😂
BEST way to put it. That looked so genuine.
😂😂😂
It’s my favorite part, lmao @itsokaytho.
I loved it!
That laugh with a snort 😂😆
💯
That snort is exactly why Mr./Mrs. Out of Your League likes you. You're cute and real. Some people don't like perfect.

me too😂 still thinking of it 😅 even after 3 years of marriage
I asked my husband if he married me like as a friend or because he actually loves me. 😅We've been together 12 years.
Awww. You're a very humble person, it's obvious why he married you. Looks are cool but personality seals the deal.
That’s the crazy part. They really do like you and you’ve been through so much shit you think they playing 😢
Yeeeeah know the feeling
