    Very grateful to have Tom as my coach. I had planned to give up the game until I came across his “everyone tilts” video. The rest is history! He’s guided me since April 2021. I’m shooting in the low 80s. Also, Eric your video of feeling like you are sitting in a chair to start downswing was very helpful. It’s helping my early extension. You guys are great. Congratulations on your success.

      Do you happen to have the link to the “sitting in the chair” video? I have found to keep my chest down my backside also needs to go away from the ball and forward during the swing through. At first it felt really odd like I was sticking my butt way out but on video it looked perfect and I had a ton of room for my right elbow to clear my hips.

    I worry when I do this that I’m getting closer to the ground and it’ll cause me to pull up when I start down. Is this wrong?

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  2 года назад +1

      You shouldn't actually get closer to ground. Draw a circle around head at setup...stay in it....we are exaggerating here with the lowering. Just to keep your head in circle you have to FEEL chest and lead shoulder down

  • @gregorylittle7009
    @gregorylittle7009 2 месяца назад +1

    Eric, loved your videos. Quick question. Chest to the ground during the backswing. What about extension in the backswing? How do you reconcile these two thoughts and movement patterns? Thanks!

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  2 месяца назад

      Hey Greg!
      Yeah its more like LEFT SHOULDER to the ground (down and back)
      Chest points directly away from target (about level to the ground)
      Goal to keep head in the circle it started......to do that your lead shoulder goes down and back (tilt and turn) and chest pointing straight behind you roughly level to the ground (turn and extension)
      Chest down in this video is more inclination to the ground.....like if your torso starts 4 feet from the ground KEEP it that way
      This is prob a better way to say it/look at it here:

    I like "Crazy Tom" Saguto because he's the Paula Poundstone of golf: a screwball who makes salient points. Just for fun, and to impress Francesca Fiorentini, I'll add another tip: make sure your balls are ahead of the golf ball at impact with any iron. Just remember, "Tiene siempre le palle davante alla pallina de golf all'impato."
    I wrote that because Tom Saguto is obviously of Italian descent and because he's a great teacher who likes to clown around a bit to make a salient point. Plus, Francesca Fiorentini is a very sexy Italian girl who knows how to use humor to make a point. Finally, Tom & Eric are the two RUclips instructors that I pay attention to & they both have helped me with my stroke.

    Eric, do you apply the same method for a driver?

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  2 года назад +1

      To varying degrees
      You want to replace forward bend with side bend.....so with driver you are less bent over to start....therefore you would have less tilt in backswing
      Sand wedge most forward bend at setup so most tilt in backswing

    Eric and Tom have saved my golf game. I’ve struggled with Shabks and severe slices for a few years that brought my 4 handicap game to struggling to break 100 and physically and mentally shaking over any shot in the fairway.
    Eric’s 15 shot program really helped me get control of my grip and the relationship to the club face and I threw a few high 70s rounds back in to my game..
    Tom’s Stack and tilt program helped me “feel” where my body was supposed to be throughout the swing and that crispy contact is far more consistent now!
    I was turning and rotating and flipping and scooping.. these two helped me understand what I was doing wrong and now I don’t even think about my hands anymore, I WANT my ball in the fairway again and have so much Confidence with my contact and last few rounds all in the 70s!
    The two of you in the same video is just Awesome!
    Now the road From Shank to Scratch credit to these great guys!
