Looks like a simple yet effective setup 👍
It’s been working so far
Nice. I have a switch panel but no permanent place I want to install it. Was thinking of putting it in a waterproof box with external connectors so that I can just bring it to wherever it will be useful at that particular moment.
looks good, i did the same thing to my 1236 lowe, i mounted the cut off switch and the fuse block on mine. thanks for the video.
Awesome! My youngest son and I have been flying RC planes and jets for 9 years. We have more Banana, XT-60, XT-90, EC-5 connectors than Carter has little white pills. Would’ve NEVER THOUGHT to use them as “Quick Disconnects”. And that’s why you’re making super helpful videos and I’m the kinda guy that watches and says- “I would’ve never thought of that…..”
Thanks again for posting the video.
Awesome glad you found something useful. I used what I had around the house and it worked!
@@TheBudgetSportsman are you an RC pilot as well?
Off and on. I love it when I do it but I have too many hobbies and for some reason the RC hobby always seems to fall to the wayside. Trying to get back into it now that I have kids. I’ve mostly flown Flite Test foam board planes. I’ve got one half built in the closet now that I haven’t had time to finish. I fly a drone for video purposes and have a little heli that I’m terrible at flying. I tried 3D printing a piper cub that’s maiden flight ended with the wing in two pieces.
@@TheBudgetSportsman Same hobby issue. LOL! I’ve been fishing all my life. I took it for granted growing up in central Florida with a phosphate pit a mile behind the house. Then in high school I found out about Snook, Redfish, Tarpon fishing with a baitcaster and Mirr o lures. All my hobbies came to a halt when my 3 sons got into their sports of choice. Glad now the youngest had a friend that flew RC.
Neither of the boys care about fishing. I blame myself.
Super awesome dude you should buy ya metal ammo can with seal on the lid
Would have been a better idea, however I actually have upgraded my boat since then.
Great video! love the diy portable electric stuff.
Wonder if I could run a trolling motor on a jackery?
I'm waiting on my brand new an first boat an so the thing is I think for warranty issues I can not drill anything into the boat or it will void warranty so I'm thinking this will be my route for sure but with big ammo box like that I'm getting a 1754 grizzly an it has the track system on the outside that I can mount a 2 by 4 an mount the metal ammo can without any drilling an wire up a panel
Yes I’m hind sight I should have used a metal ammo can
Hey that's ok you can transfer her over for sure
Where would be a good place to find a small master switch like yours?
I would search Amazon for master switch, master cutoff, or battery disconnect. Some of them might be too big if you are using an ammo can, but you should be able to find something. In my new (to me) boat I used a much larger batter disconnect and I really like it.
prime build out, any reason you have the battery in the front and not under the benches or something with a hatch?
1. I get more speed by distributing the weight by putting the battery up front.
2. I don’t actually have any hatches in the boat. A battery box probably would be ideal in this situation.
Actually I just upgraded to a little larger boat and my batter is in a hatch on the “new to me” boat.
Sorry if I missed it in the video, but did you run a fuse block?
The switch panel, comes with a fuse presided for every switch. The only thing that isn’t fused is the trolling motor. There should be a link in the description for the breaker I’ve been meaning to add.
What’s that mount you got for your gps
It’s a RAM mount.
@@TheBudgetSportsman that’s what I thought. Thanks
Electrician by trade?
Nope just had a dad who tried to teach me to be handy. Got some questions on some of my other videos and thought this might help out.
