    Just bought a 65 valco 14 3 days ago. She’s rough looking but the motor runs well and I just hauled her on the trailer about 250 miles in 110 degree heat and had no issues. No leaks or anything and the motor runs great! I found your channel tonight, I can tell already I’ll be back for more! Thank you!

    5:09 Thank you for including your little girl in your video.
    She is so adorable and a good little helper.
    They grow up so fast so enjoy every moment with her.
    She is one of Gods' little miracles :)
    Love the light idea also. :)

    I use 3M tape primer “94” when mounting lights or other adhesive backed mounting tape objects to my golf cart and it works phenomenally. An example is a strip led strobe usually mounted on the side step. It’s held solid through summer and winter (in Florida) for almost two years.

    Great job and awesome idea to use the ammo box as a “mini control box “!

    This by far my favorite channel. Love everything I’ve seen so far. Especially the boat and trailer. I got a trailer similar to how you did. Just stopped and ask if it was for sale and I got it for $100

    Great job! I am even more impressed by the ammo/mini control box. I hope you make a video on how you made that. I will try to make something similar. Thank you.

    So many rules, Seems 36 inches is kind'a high, but got to meet the regs. Good video.

      @TheBudgetSportsman  3 года назад +1

      Right! I would prefer to have had it lower. I think the idea is that the light is above the heads of people in the boat so that it is always visible.

    I can't mount the typical dome light as that is where my trolling motor mounts.
    Idk if what you did is USCG approved.
    I like your lights..and want to do that on my boat. 3m tape is good stuff.

    • @TheBudgetSportsman
      @TheBudgetSportsman  2 года назад +2

      These lights are not specifically listed as being coast guard approved, however I looked at the regulations including the angles of visibility and don’t see any reason why these wouldn’t meet the requirements…at least on my boat. These are brighter than about anything else on the water and I’ve gotten several comments from friends on the shore about how they could easily see me coming from a long way off. I’m in no way tell you that they are right for you but I’ve been loving them so far.

    The sides of the boat are called the gunwales
    The " stern light " is the anchor light ,
    That's a very nice looking boat

    If you could make a new modern electronic station what would you include? How would you make it for a small 14 ft boat? Do you have a video of how you built your station?

    • @TheBudgetSportsman
      @TheBudgetSportsman  11 месяцев назад

      The main change I would make is using a higher quality box with stiffer sides.
      You can see more details on how I made this one at the video below.

    i have a boat with lights on a pole at front and back and the lights don't really do much to help see where you are going so i have lights like yours to put on front to see if it helps with vision and white strips on rear to see when trailering boat in dark going to try and tie them to existing wiring

    Do you need red/green? The boat is small. Also have you heard of 112.5+112.5 degree visibility. Don't confuse people if you don't know yourself

    • @TheBudgetSportsman
      @TheBudgetSportsman  4 месяца назад

      In my state, yes I’ve need red green.
      Yes I’ve heard of the degrees of visibility, that’s why I clearly stated that these lights most likely don’t meet all the regulations, but do provide excellent visibility.

    Great video. My Dad gave me his old Jon boat. I would like to have a similar inexpensive setup like yours. The Jon boat has both trolling motor and 15hp 4 stroke motor.Any recommendations without cutting the wires to trolling motor?

    What state are you in? No Law here on how High the rear light has to be. Dont know why you would need to see the Stern of the Boat heading at you. NORMALLY when you see the White light you are either on the side or the back, Not the Front lol.

    • @TheBudgetSportsman
      @TheBudgetSportsman  2 года назад

      I’m in PA. I can’t find the regulation at the moment but there was definitely a rule I read about the height of the light. I believe the idea is that the light would be higher than the drivers head so that it would be visible.
