This gets me every time! Just love seeing a rare father/daughter duet. Can’t help thinking Bonnie learned some her singing chops seeing her Dad’s Broadway musicals.
What's wrong with the 27 people who gave this video a thumbs down? Never mind. There's no accounting for taste. John Raitt is a legend and Bonnie, his legacy.
John Raitt is the one and only. He is the greatest musical performer in the history of Broadway Musicals. It was thrilling to see him on stage and listen to his magnificent voice and watch his great stage presence. What a joy you have brought to so many of us Mr. Raitt. I was a young girl and was overwhelmed. Lucky enough to live in New York City & go to Broadway performances. Handsome, wonderful actor & marvelous voice. Thank you. Love your daughter too.
My Father was a Vocal Music Teacher...His 2 boys and his daughter (me) all sang in his h.s. Choir...He’s passed away..., but man, what a dream for me if I had ever gotten to sing a duet w/him at Church or someplace like that! What a beautiful baritone voice he had...he’s singing or directing in God’s Choir of angals now, I am sure! That gives me some splice now when I think about that now!
I watched this when it originally aired and was so thrilled! What a treat to hear this extremely talented father and daughter singing both individually and as a duet. John's voice is astounding, esp at his age. Sure easy to see where Bonnie gets her looks and talent, huh? Thanks so much for sharing this!!!
Still have some remembrances of him in the movie of Carouse; and so much more. The have different musical styles, but each is a great performer in their own right!
Thank you so much for posting this. I recorded it years ago on VHS and thought it was lost to the ages. Love them both. While Bonnie may not have a "Broadway" voice like her father, the melding of the two of them is absolutely magical. In concert or alone they are both incredible talents. Thanks again.
He never lost his voice --- or his remarkably good looks. Amazing. It's so nice to see how much they loved each other. I have to say I never cared for her style, but she's an awfully nice gal.
I watched this concert on PBS. John and Bonnie were terrific! Now, if you folks could please post the"Capitol Fourth 1994" concert in which John joined forces with Florence Henderson for selections from 'Carousel'...
I got shut down. Just wanted to repeat what Judith Ann Angel wrote as it is in total agreement with how I feel about a loving daughter with her father on stage together and how important it was for both of them. Excellent!
John Raitt was a tremendous Broadway talent and gave us the titular man in "The Pajama Game" on the silver screen. I wish we had more. Bonnie has been such a gift to me personally throughout my life I cannot express it. I knew their relationship was extremely strained and adore this incredible moment in music with all my heart.
He's got Broadway mics on - that is, clipped and hidden into his hair. Not possible to be louder than an entire on-stage orchestra unless singing like an opera singer, which he isn't.
What do you mean, John Raitt could "barely hold a tune"? Even in his later years, he still sang a heck of a lot better than most "singers" I could name.
He was 75 at the time, and he could still sing .. A great singer, actor.
She's pushing 70 now, and boy does she still have it, too! Still recording and touring!
I just heard her show in St. Louis Saturday. Still wonderful!
GREAT friends and excellent performers.....we have so many GREAT memories of camping and growing up together......
This gets me every time! Just love seeing a rare father/daughter duet. Can’t help thinking Bonnie learned some her singing chops seeing her Dad’s Broadway musicals.
Thank you! He was great in the Pajama Game and so many other musicals! She is also great, but often sings a different genre of musical!
That brings a tear to the eye of an old man that loves American musical theatre

the best gift of life you can ever have...
Lucky you!
Well he's pretty good, but don't forget Mr. Goulet
Watching Bonnie and her Pop= Verklempt.😢
Bonnie and her father John are exceptional musicians who we remember in 2020!

Brings a tear to my eyes to see him with his daughter in such fine voice and such a classy moment.
Aww, that Bonnie can SANG! What an awesome voice. She gets it from her Daddy.
Phenomenal to see them perform together. Love it. Thanks for posting ♥️💜👏👏
Loved him in Pajama Game. His voice is great. Didn’t find out it was her Dad until about 10 years ago. ♥️♥️♥️🌷🌷
Just brilliant thank you for your love and what a great daughter you guys give music and hope .From Dublin Ireland.
Bonnie’s always been so freaking great. ❤️✌️
Just gorgeous ...Thx for this...Father and daughter ..Such talent...
Standing ovation for the great John Raitt!

2023 Impressed ❤
He was to musicals what chaplin was to motion pictures, they both defined the genre and raised the bar to unmatched heights
isn't that the truth..
Wonderfully expressed.
I saw him in 1965 at a revival of Carousel at Lincoln Center. He will always be the one and only Billy Bigelow.
Still have some remembrances of him in the movie of Carouse; and so much more. The have different musical styles, but each is a great performer in their own right!

She's soooo good!
Two of the greatest voices ever. Period.
Wow! I have never heard of John Raitt before. How on earth have I missed him in my 72 years???? Thank you You Tube.
Look him up in his prime
I was always jealous of him, not only does he have a great voice but what a head of hair. I don't have either.
He also has charisma.,..unbelievable stage presence.
I bet you are just fine.
Rest in peace, John.
Thank God for the Raitts!!!
absolutely love these two! thanks for this post!
He never lost his voice --- or his remarkably good looks. Amazing.

How great for them and us.
Terrific! Have you heard J Raitts rendition of the Soliquiy from Carousel-- you better!! Never heard a better high B flat from ANY Broadway singer!!!!
John Raitt ..A total gift...........RIP to a great man and talent..
Mr. Rexdale, I heard John Raitt's 1950s rendition of the "Soliloquy", complete with the interpolated high B flat, and that was a true tour de force!
That's like 40 years after he did that on Broadway in the original Pajama Game. Pretty good considering. Love it.
I love that we have this gem two generations of entertainment history
Love John ♥️
I like Johns singing here even more than the original. Great voice.
He makes me melt.
What a singing Pair😂😂☺☺😍😍✌💙
THE GREATEST
A great musical moment.
So Awesome! How Truly Wonderful to See as Well as The Amazing music to my ears! You can So both See as Well as Hear The Awesome Resemblance!
I got shut down. Just wanted to repeat what Judith Ann Angel wrote as it is in total agreement with how I feel about a loving daughter with her father on stage together and how important it was for both of them. Excellent!
I was there, and I'll never forget it. Thanks for posting this.
Now we know where she got her chops, silver hair but great voice.

Saw him perform in Carousel at the Geary Theatre n S.F. early 1960;s fabulous!!!!!
So that's where she got her chops from. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
The apple did not fall too far from the tree.
Anybody know who the musicians are here ?
It's a family thing...
Why does the daughter get most of the screen time.!!!!!!
Funny how she needs the microphone and he doesn't ...
He's got Broadway mics on - that is, clipped and hidden into his hair. Not possible to be louder than an entire on-stage orchestra unless singing like an opera singer, which he isn't.
So sad, John Raitt was a powerhouse but can barely hold a tune
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I assume you’ve just said that to rile people up, because the man has a better voice here at 72 than many people do in their prime.
What video are you watching?
You don’t know much music, do you?
What do you mean, John Raitt could "barely hold a tune"? Even in his later years, he still sang a heck of a lot better than most "singers" I could name.
like daughter fine voice
