    Damn what a dull dud, he said "out" when the returned ball was already back on Errani's side. Two big mistakes, she said it very well.

    How in the world could the umpire make such a HORRIBLE mistake, especially considering the lack of speed of the serve and how far in it was.

      yeah, HORRIBLE. The speed wasnt really fast, the distance ball-line was ridiculous, the call after 2 big seconds... and we talk about an empire, not ordinary eyes, and he fail like an asshole and he respond to her like and idiot. Pls go home

    I know umpires are only human but mistakes like this should never happen at a Premier event. Errani is one of the slowest servers on the WTA, so the ball would've been travelling at 70, maybe 75mph at the very most. If he can't clearly see where such a slow ball lands, then how would he manage to umpire a match with the likes of Petra or Serena, with 110mph+ serves blasting in all directions? Scary that such incompetent people can get into positions like this.

      plus not only does he get the initial call wrong he compounds his error by then saying he made the call before the returner struck the ball which was clearly incorrect also

  • @cambed71
    @cambed71 7 лет назад +1

    He called out way after Wickmayer hit the ball but her ball looked in. Some people on here think it's out but he should have hawkeyed Wickmayers to either give Errani the point if it were out or replay if it was in.

  • @greenpeace4246

    How could this guy be allowed to chair for any match? First he has poor eyesight. That shot was so in, not even close to the line, but he called it out. Second he lied about what happened. Wickmayer hit the ball before it was called out. So Errani should have gotten the point.

      It cost her an advantage and a challenge, and it was a ridiculously poor call that he had no business making as he overruled the line judge on the far side. I don't even watch tennis and I can understand why he needed a lashing. That guy should be out of a job.
      If you start a fire in your office, that's bad, but what if it was because you were lighting fireworks? Should your boss stop yelling at you because you admitted your mistake? Mom's spaghetti.

    she should be happy actually because didnt her opponent hit a direct winner from her soft serve. Her coach would understand her anger at how bad his eyes were in that second, but the main point would be thd umpire saved him. She is so lovely Errani when she is angry. She didnt get personal just frustrated. Beautiful person. i think the adrenaline from the crowd makes you continue for a bit lonfer sometimes but she didn't look in the wrong at all. the next week she probably said sorru to the umpird and thanks for sabing me on that point

    Well, in umpire's defense, we can see that he made the call milliseconds before the ball bounced out from the court. And that doesn't mean he shouldn't have gave the point to Errani. Moreover, Wickmayer should've just give out the point in the first place. Bad call by the umpire but he's have a point.
