It's a terrible shame for WTA umpires, that twice in 1 month period Radwańska almost gets robbed by them and supervisor wins her points back. WTA has a long history against Radwańska, crowning Serena Williams Player of the year 2015 when Agnieszka had 54% of votes and Williams 27%, and stealing Radwańska's world no.1 with Azarenka's Rome 2012 cheat entry+withdrawal.

@ MrKoval92 - I'm guessing based on your name that you're Polish. Truth should come before any patriotism. In 2015, Serena won 3 Grand Slams and advanced into the semis in the US Open. She also won in Miami and Cincinatti and had a semi in Indian Wells, Madrid and Toronto. Radvanska had a single semi in the Grand Slams and has even lost in the 1st round in Paris. Her wins in Tokyo and Tianjin were also Tier 2 events. The Hopman and the World Finals don't trump all other tournaments, even if they were won by your favourite player. Radvanska even fell out of the top 10 that year, how can you say that she was cheated out of the player of the year title?
Then the chair umpire acts like, ok, have it your way ... instead to apologize for making a couple of unbelievable mistakes. Yes Cicak made some mistakes but she listened to Radwanska, was open to a discussion and let the right thing occur, sometimes, the umpire is just too scared to admit they fucked up so they are not open to discussion. Thankfully in this case, the right thing happened. Love Agnieszka. Standing up for herself
I’m not sure what video you watched. She had no interest in admitting she might have made a mistake. If Radwanska didn’t refuse to back down and insist on talking to a supervisor then she would have lost the game. Even when the mistake was confirmed the umpire acted smugly.
"Barthel" (very fair)" - yeah, it is so "fair" to admit the mistake, once it was PROVEN, and not before that, even though you clearly know that you are cheating. FAIR play indeed...
What’s frustrating when watching on TV sometimes is that you don’t know who won the point and you have to listen to the umpire give the score. If the umpire gets it wrong than you don’t realize it.
Radwanska has a particular history with this tournament, i remember the other one against Nouni when she wanted to replay the point (althought she was right) and nouni said no.
No she challenged that the ball was out even though the ball declared to be in and turns out the ball was in so she lost the point. Doesn't matter if she was on the ball and even returned the ball.
I usually likes Cicak so much. That is very unusual. That's a serious and terrible mistake. Anyway, humans can make mistakes. Barthel "very fair"? Are you kidding me, right? When Radwanska asked her, Barthel just opened her arms and said she didn't know. Of course, when things were clear she HAD to admit Aga was right. Barthel COULDN'T discuss it. People are human and make mistakes, obviously it was not intentional. It’s a bit disturbing that one of the game’s best umps made such a big mistake though. I think the great thing here is that in the end, it was corrected just in time. This would have been soooooo emotionally frustrating for Aga and the shocking thing to me is she has had two matches in a row with a horrible mistake that upset her but was ultimately corrected. You can go a whole career and not have these things happen so it’s unfirtunate luck. Some may say it was hard because Mona thought the game was over but as a player she would have known she only won 3 points. Aga’s winner was clear and as Aga said, Mona lost a second point when she hit a ball a meter out. It’s just my opinion but I think Mona knew the game was still in play but she quickly went to her chair when the score was called and just pretended she was confused. That’s not entirely sportsmanlike either.
It looked like more than one mistake, and even the announcers did not recognize nor the officials sitting behind the umpire. I think Barthel knew about the mistake but said nothing. Aga or her team should have spoken up sooner.
Makes you wonder what the hell that chair umpire has been doing during that game. Texting on her phone or something. You go girl, Radwanska for fighting back hard at that stupid umpire. You earned my respect there.
Cicak looked very bored or thoughtful until it happened. I do not think she should judge this day. Something must have happened in her private life and that is why she was absent. That's why she made a mistake, but it was not intentional.
The worst thing is that seh keeps saying "I remember..." No, woman, you don't remember at all and anyway you should have the humility to simply verify instead of questioning.
I know people make mistakes but it's very frustrating to leave the fate of your career on mistakes like these. Errors like this should not be left behind just by the umpire but anyone that's part of the WTA Staff to get an instant correction. I'm no Tennis Pro nor do I know the rules and regulation of ATP and WTA but rookie efforts like this should be a team effort. At the same time what makes a portion of tennis exciting is drama on the court sadly. IMO.
I was literally there watching during the mistake and that we knew what's wrong and how we want to shout to the umpire it's incorrect but waiting for someone in a formal manner to raise the issue to the umpire. Good that Radwanska was brave enough to raise her question... and when Barthel was asked, she was washing her hands over the issue... We want to shout #replay and let's see the real story... And actually, after that mistake, there was another mistake again during that match....
Wow, I’ve been an umpire before and it’s not easy. But geez. I wasn’t before, but I’m a Radwanska fan now, her Sitting Down Groundstrokes not withstanding. Barthel should have admitted it.
I watched a ladies match at the -99 US open. Capriati was one of the players and got upset with the umpire, who was female. "Are you here?" Capriati shouted.
Shame on EVERYONE at this match! The officials, the players, the coaches, the commentators, and the crowd. SOMEONE should have said something's wrong. And the official knew something was wrong because she corrected herself on the 2nd point, then went on to make more mistakes later.
its amazing to watch badminton and tennis where umpires make blunders which can easily be corrected by replays which are readily available but still they stick to their archaic methods
The opponent knew damn well the score was wrong and simply said nothing when the issue was raised. That is not the way tennis players are supposed to conduct themselves.
Amazing. Nobody in the whole stadium except Radwanska's team noticed the error, including all the officials and commentators. Umpire needs to go on to doing something else. Something that doesn't require concentration.
Logical reaction for a mistake. Do you think anybody that gets a ticket for speeding or doesn't come to a full stop at a stop sign should have their license revoked for eternity? See the stupidity?
They said Barthel was fair not complaining when the score was corrected. She was NOT fair, because she must have known about her two mistakes in that game. She just kept her mouth shut waiting what would be next.
Its true, chair umpires rarely overrule these days, instead relying on Hawkeye and the Challenge System. In a match like this, if she's not keeping score, she's basically paid to daydream in a chair.
Even the players weren't paying attention. It's up to the player to notice the mistake and tell the umpire as soon aa a point is called wrongly. After the game it's too late IMO. It was a very embarrassing performance by the umpire and the commentators. Radwanska should have noticed earlier and not continue playinv while her point was given to the opponent though.
My Music actually she’s been umpiring for a looonngggg time. She’s actually one of the most experience ones out there and gets chosen to umpire a lot of semis and finals at grand slams

Shut up the fucking ass, fuck you
dude
NOBODY found out, not even the players?!
that's how shitty and uninteresting WTA is
peachy - why are you here watching WTA videos if the WTA is so shitty and uninteresting?
to see what's the drama about by the title of the video, IDIOT
Imagine if this was Serana Williams 🤣🤣
[OCB] she’d kill the umpire
Serena would have caught the mistake at 15-0
Lololol
She would have set the stadium on fire!
P-R-E-P-O-S-T-E-R-O-U-S! Had this been a match with any of the Top 5 players, male or female, the umpire would have been immediately dismissed lol
This umpire should have been fired
"Can u call the supervisoorr" i just love Aga Radwanska english slang. Lol.
The worst thing is that seh keeps saying "I remember..."
No, woman, you don't remember at all and anyway you should have the humility to simply verify instead of questioning.
WTF are the dudes w/ the giant cameras doing????!!!! JUST WATCH A REPLAY!!!!
IMO.
fate of a career? its like 3 points.
drunk much?
@@jiogcyihsugyiocjfdoivhphvw6821 you must not play tennis. if radwanska breaked it would've almost guaranteed her the match.
Holy shit, is there not a process for asking the TV folks to quickly review?
I was literally there watching during the mistake and that we knew what's wrong and how we want to shout to the umpire it's incorrect but waiting for someone in a formal manner to raise the issue to the umpire. Good that Radwanska was brave enough to raise her question... and when Barthel was asked, she was washing her hands over the issue... We want to shout #replay and let's see the real story... And actually, after that mistake, there was another mistake again during that match....
The players should be able to ask for a new umpire if this happens
Goes to show no one is there for the tennis.
Wow, I’ve been an umpire before and it’s not easy. But geez. I wasn’t before, but I’m a Radwanska fan now, her Sitting Down Groundstrokes not withstanding. Barthel should have admitted it.
Barthel probably realized she lost 2 points and figured the score had to be incorrect haha
How I miss Agnieszka Radwanska on court 😍
its amazing to watch badminton and tennis where umpires make blunders which can easily be corrected by replays which are readily available but still they stick to their archaic methods
The opponent knew damn well the score was wrong and simply said nothing when the issue was raised. That is not the way tennis players are supposed to conduct themselves.
Yes for the hundred times...Aga was fucking RIGHT !! none of these spv nor the umpire team took noticed about it..
Barthel knew from very beginning that Radwanska is right but wasn't fair enough to admit it, rather wanted to pretend she doesn't know.
I dunno. It’s not her job to pay attention to the score. You don’t expect this to ever happen and that’s why nobody caught on.
I'm sure there were people who recognized the score was wrong but were too afraid to say anything.
Barthel new it was wrong
Amazing. Nobody in the whole stadium except Radwanska's team noticed the error, including all the officials and commentators. Umpire needs to go on to doing something else. Something that doesn't require concentration.
If u also in the stadium,I doubt u will notice it too
Can u watch all of it for 2 hours and still notice it?
I will fall asleep
Go Aga!
I sometimes feel sad for the referees when players shout at them for a mistake but gotta say never seen a ref admit mistake
Such egos
Like a couple of others have said: strange none of the commentators even noticed!
They were too busy yabbering...
This happens when a seasoned chair umpire treats a match like this as low key...
The umpire should be fired right away. He made three mistakes, which are impossible to cancel out.
She*
Commentator is a joke and the umpire should be fine and ban from any tennis games
Logical reaction for a mistake. Do you think anybody that gets a ticket for speeding or doesn't come to a full stop at a stop sign should have their license revoked for eternity? See the stupidity?
Imagine an umpire like this refering a game with Troicki. Not sure he/she comes back home
They said Barthel was fair not complaining when the score was corrected.
She was NOT fair, because she must have known about her two mistakes in that game. She just kept her mouth shut waiting what would be next.
ITS THEIR ONLY JOB! AMAZING
A lot more to it than that, bunghole
The umpire had ONE job. So incompetent!
Its true, chair umpires rarely overrule these days, instead relying on Hawkeye and the Challenge System. In a match like this, if she's not keeping score, she's basically paid to daydream in a chair.
And now she's the umpire of Wimbledon men's final:))
Of course, we gonna have to balance the gender game
Even the players weren't paying attention. It's up to the player to notice the mistake and tell the umpire as soon aa a point is called wrongly. After the game it's too late IMO. It was a very embarrassing performance by the umpire and the commentators. Radwanska should have noticed earlier and not continue playinv while her point was given to the opponent though.
I totally agree
Cédrik Thibert they are trying to play the game 😂😂
Worst umpire ever!!!
Honestly the worst commentators in English that I've ever had the displeasure of witnessing lol
What a joke.... officials, commentators and crowd didn't pick up on it..!!
She should've said:
"I'm the Sunate!"
This smells of corruption.
Terrible.
This umpire seems to make too many mistakes.
Cmon Barthel. You know you missed that forehand wide....smh
That woman is on her first time making this job??he doesn't understand anything !!!! go home !!!
My Music actually she’s been umpiring for a looonngggg time. She’s actually one of the most experience ones out there and gets chosen to umpire a lot of semis and finals at grand slams
How can Ellen DeGeneres umpire a tennis match? She's a talk show host.
At this level it’s impossible that pro-players didn’t know what the score was.
This umpire made a couple of mistakes in Montreal semi against Sloane, two calls overruled by her, then challenged by Sloane and she was wrong on both
