This Konata original art figure made the headlines back then when she went for preorder at only 9000yen, undercutting even Good Smile's Pop Up Parade XL line of budget figures by a large margin. I'm new to figure collecting and actually just pre-ordered their Black Sister 1/4th. I'm glad to see these are looking like the prototypes and puts me at ease on my "gamble" with this company. I have a feeling though that once they release more we'll see an uptick in pricing especially on the 1/4th's (how inexpensive they are in comparison to BINDing/Freeing is wild.) I'd say based on this figure alone it's worth preordering more 1/4th's they come out with.
From what i seen the figure themselves seem to have come out nicely, and I'm glad that (base aside) you seem to think so too.
Funny thing about this figure is that is currently the only Bear Panda figure that i don't have on preorder.

I am glad that Freeing is getting some competition in the 1/4 Bunny market! I am getting my first 1/4 Bunny, Ruler Altria, if she doesn’t get delayed again lol

Only way to cut costs is usually cheaper materials.
That would apply to pretty much every figure. If you put her in a place that does not received constant UV exposure, you could delay that.
Oh it has those eyes again, I really like those faceplates, really cool.
The face is beautiful! I love the inset eyes (the transparent eyes you mentioned) and i dont know if it's weird to say as a girl, but oh my gosh her mouth is so cute!
yes, i think the eyes on this one is even better than the 1/6 scale JK bunny by Animester. Better execution
9:10 I like the red tips on her hair, reminds me of Nemesis from Union Creative, I absolutely love that figure, it’s one of my favourites, that entire line is my favourite.
So that means their upcoming 1/4 Sayuri Bunny Girl might be even worse on this flaw because it looks like it's only supported on one leg?
On the other hand, you also need to remember this is their very first figure. They might actually improve over time. Apex Toys back then in their first couple of years, were not that good. Their Klee figure's initial release had lots of QC issues. By today they are one of the best chinese figure brands out there.

That item isn't a nametag badge for the company, according to MFC those are material samples that the company includes to allegedly show that they use the same materials as other bigger figure companies and aren't actually cutting cost on materials.
That, is very interesting, but i doubt most figure collectors are able to analyze that pvc soap bar in a way that demonstrates it is the same as other figure companies. So, if they wanted to prove they aren't cutting that much corners, I'm not sure if this is effective at all.
I have it too, so I wanna know what the catch is about this figurine.
The one thing for me though, is that the shipping fee is almost the same price as the figure itself haha
The base is just horrible (and that means questionable long term longetivity)
@@EXkuroganeI guess yeah, the base is a bit on a thinner side. Alas, if there is not too much shaking happen, it'll last a fine time in my opinion
I can think of two solution. First is resin, pouring resin onto the underside, essentially filling the whole thing and turning the base into a solid piece, will probably add a lot weight too. Another option is too use leftover runners(ones you see on model kits), essentially adding the grid pattern to reenforce the base.
Or if you have way too much time, combining both methods.
The base lacks the ridges found under Freeing/Native simple base.
something so simple and even a common sense, is entirely missing in the base. That is why I think they took corner cutting a bit too far with this one

Meanwhile, my almost 40K Binding Minatsu has the almost same wobbly-ness, but uglier base.

While the price is great, i really dislike how she look. Which is funny because their next cheap 1/4 bunny "Yuna" in my opinion look amazing, no fishnet but really nice sculpted legs and chest, really pretty face. Even the one after look really nice (Sayuri )

Honestly, this feels like click bait 😂 I'm sure the FLAW will turn out to be smth minor
I'm quite annoyed by it - it has something to do with the longetivity of the figure. I was evaluating what options i have if i were to take matters into my own hands and modify the figure myself.
frankly, some of these "recently popular sexy cheap figures" have terrible designs.
what is the word... gaudy? Anyway, it just feels very unnatural.
From what I have seen so far, the quality of this figure is better than a lot of the freeing figures out there given how well the paint job is done on the hair😂. Once again reminded me of how ridiculous freeing can keep increasing their price with their low quality product. As for the base, I think both bases are just so plain and boring to the point that there is no point in comparing the 2😅
I have 1 Freeing bunny, it’s Diane from Seven Deadly Sins and I’m pretty happy with it, they did a good job on her anatomy, especially her shoulder blades on her back with how each one is completely different because of how she’s holding her arms, looks really good. 😊

For me the figure is overall just to plain.
yes it is the opposite of what i usually collect. I like very highly detailed figures at 1/7 and 1/6. I prefer detail over size
Although the figure is really cute and affordable I just can't deal with a wobbly base. So its a no for me.
