The death of the Detolf sure has made it annoying to find affordable shelving. Shoulda bought way more of em back in the day but hindsight is 20/20 blah blah
Yeah, I'm probably going to stick with local aftermarket on stuff like facebook market place for detolfs and other display cabinets, I usually can find some good stuff for cheap there

There are other stores that sell display cabinets. In Australia there is a store called Fantastic Furniture and its cheaper than Ikea. Im sure US has something similar.
I actually prefer how it looks because its white, not black. I haven't bought it yet though.
Edit: Wow Ikea price is so cheap in US! They aren't that cheap in Australia. Even allowing for currency conversion.
You have the kind of room my teenager self would've loved lol. Much much older now, other priorities but it's cool to have a channel like this to live vicariously off of.

Dude, where do you keep all these figures and their boxes man What an insane collection haul.
Looks like we have a new goal to achieve, find the perfect alternative for the discontinued Detolf.
Some security checks are truly random. The conveyers or x-ray machines will tell the workers which ones to pick out to check. Sometimes the automated software in the screening machines may pull a package to have someone take a look at something inside at well.
Someday I'll have a room full of shelves for my anime figurine collection. Now I'm truly going to get those skadi figurines, they look fantastic! Great video as always, ken!
I passed on Dusk and the original Surtr, but I scooped the Summer surtr and it looks gorgeous. I might get Dusk if she goes on sale since she's till up on amiami but that Surtr might be in my top 10. It came out so dang good. I hope GSC can match the quality with their Surtr.

Always happy to see your content and I do hope that I can find really good figure displays that are similar to a detolf or get lucky and find some in the wild. Also I really feel that title my wallet wants to destroy me every month for the rest of the year.

Yeah that Bladliden is just a waste of money for a flimsy smaller case, might as well buy a Rudsta. It looks like the frame is made of the same flimsy material but you have width and way more space for like $10 more

That said, VERY NICE massive haul! My June haul is expecting to be on the expensive side since I ordered the Fate/Samurai Remnant Musashi Berserker figure. I'm always impressed by your ability to spend a lot and then recover quickly before spending a lot again. But its all for content and the hobby, and I respect that. Once again, great video!
I use the IKEA RUDSTA, I can recommend them, yes they are framed, but assembly is a cinch and they are very reliable. Several years and many 1/4 scales, and no problems.
The Rudsta's are amazing especially if you cut the legs shorter and stack 2 together. I'm not sure which is my favourite because the Milsbo has adjustable shelves. The Blaliden has it's place but it will never replace the Detolf
@@azulleth9401 Welcome fellow RUDSTA enjoyer, and tbf, I use the bottom shelves they provide for storing my boxes. It works out really well.

I'm going to keep saying the Ikea Rudsta is hands down the best price point cabinet for PVC figures Plus with a little modification you can stack them on top of each other. I did it well over a year ago posted a video still no issues to this day. Love the Rudsta so much bought six more to build stacked units.
Great haul I love the dusk and surtr figures. I have 2 figures that are on pre order that'll be releasing this month The Amiya figure by Myethos, and the bunny schwi figure by FREEing
I also looked at my 2019 badge and liked it over the 2024, will be the first time I'll be back since. See you there dude!
Might look into those stands for some of what I have. Where I have struggled is I have some rather large items for Prime 1 Studios.

12:14 i think that little piece is for resting the edge of her sword on so it doesn't droop over time! i've got a figure with a large weapon that came with a similar piece!

My first scale is on its way to me. Im soooo excited. I bought her 2 weeks ago off Solaris but they had delays and only sent her a couple days ago. 😭 I paid more for shipping so she should finally come next week. Its a pre-owned Infinite Stratos Lingyin 1/4. I love cats so I love she's a cat girl. I want the Infinite Stratos poodle girl too.
I don't actually know the source material I just like the figure designs. I should look into it. I don't even know if its a game or anime. I play otome games but none have any figures made 😭
Gonna have to get the ikea billy with hogbo glass doors and sub the normal shelves with the glass ones.
I feel like, as much as I may need to dust and handle the figures more, just using plain bookshelves are less of a headache.
Oh. That happy birthday AmiAmi card now makes me sad. I assumed they figured out some of my packages would arrive around my birthday and put that specific one in. I guess it was just a coincidence.
Ah damn, I kind of like that Dusk. Regardless, I have the China Dress one preordered. Can only hope it looks just as good, but seeing Hoshiguma has a high aftermarket, I went for it.

Sad to hear that the DETOLF has been retired, definitely would not bother with the new shelf.
Good Luck with the Agir Figure. She will not fit into most display cases, the base is 38-39cm in diameter. I made custom base and drilled 4 holes for the hair and the cape pegs.
When you review the Madoka figure can you give feedback on if they fixed the potential flaw with the base, I use 2 support rods, one under her dress one for big blossom on the bow to be safe.
Man, I regret not picking up the Surtr! Hopefully, I can pick her up once my June and July orders are paid for 😢
New shelving unit! This may sound strange to some, but setting up new shelves is almost as exciting for me as getting new figures! ^_^
Sadly, Canadian always gets shafted when it comes pricing and shipping costs, likely due to some sort of energy tax I am sure. T-T

This makes me wish I'd have bought a couple of more detolfs 10 years ago when they were only $60-$70 CAD a piece. What IKEA was asking for Detolfs before they were discontinued and what they're asking for this new model in Canada is just nutty. Especially considering the build quality appears to be worse from what you've described.
Yeahhh, the go to now would be looking on second hand markets. Unless you wanna invest into something real expensive like moducases xD
I really don't like my collection looking like everyone elses, so i've purposefully avoided detolfs and pursued my own lighting/shelving solutions. There's nothing wrong with them, but it's really a shame to see them get discontinued.
Boycott that new shelf. The fact that you bought one sickens me lol screw them for being cheap and downgrading the best shelf out there.

With Agir's base being the literal size of a pizza pan I recommend displaying her without it if you don't have room. I even cut off the pegs on the bottom of her hair so it sits flat but I dont really recommend anyone else do that.

Lots of Arknights figures! I have that FGO Skadi figure as well and she is so beautiful! Honestly the best Skadi FGO in the market and one of my favorite figure releases for 2024! I had my non collector friends and family members comment on how breathtaking she is!
Nice haul! And I thought my May haul was brutal (Got the Taihou and Dusk too, plus GSC Rei (rouge), Alter Corneria, Oriental Forrest's Ark Royal (single shipment, oof) and a few others (nendo army building)... XD
Yeah~... I don't even play Arknights, but shut up and take my money for OL, Dragon girl, giant sword Dusk voiced by Yukana... just... perfect...
My only regret is that Alter's version looks really damn good too... am I really going to own 2 of the same character from a game I don't play? Damn this hobby... >.>

Owned the GSC Madoka many years ago. Gorgeous but constantly left me paranoid what with the weight of the bulb potentially breaking the bow.
Ive had mine for 10 years no issues with the bow despite the stories ive heard about it breaking xD i think the rerelease has an additonal peg to support it now, although i dont know if they added any additional rods to the inside of the base to prevent the leaning issues it had
It's even worse for the blaliden in the UK, costs £80 which is 140 cad
According to their website i think it was 140 CAD over here before but then they "lowered" their prices, still awful though 🤣

How do you feel about the MILSBO cabinet? Was looking around for a new one that matched my one Detolf, but the closest was the Blaliden and from what I kept hearing, I'm staying away lol.
I like the milsbo, i have one for my arknights figures. Definitely can display a lot in there. If you got the money for it id recommend it.
I also really wish for a Frostnova scale figure...

i havent opened my schwarz yet, but i don't think thatd fit in the blaliden LOL, well unless you lower one of the shelving slots but then the other 2 wont be spaced out evenly, and even then it might not fit horizontally either. If you can afford it id recommend a milsbo, i use that for my current arknights figures.
