- For a first ASMR video I wanted to show a woodturning for beginners technique that allows you to create a beautiful inlay without having to purchase expensive epoxy resins using 5 minute epoxy glue. This is a simple project which can be made with basic lathe tools and equipment.
If you have enjoyed the video please leave a comment and of course don't forget to like and subscribe for more.
This woodturning channel, explores the uses of wood when combined with resin, epoxy, to make woodturning projects, that are easy and can be classed as art. A lot of the wood turning projects I make can be completed by the beginner through to the more experienced wood turner. If you have any ideas for artwork, wood inlays, epoxy projects please get in touch. Collaborations are always welcomes.
GIVEAWAY: If you like, comment on any video's and are subscribed to the channel I will be giving away a beautiful vase when we get to 1000 subscribers. Each comment and like will be classed as one entry.

Hi Mike, just watched your vid on having to move. You consentrate on your family and don't worry if you have to miss some vids. I'll help as you asked and catch up on old vids to keep views up. We'll all look forward to new stuff in your new shop!
I like the general simplicity of this bowl with its little punch of color from the inlay.
Thanks 😀 it's where it all began, I can't watch the old videos lol 😀
I am loving the simplicity of this bowl. The simple design really shows off the beauty of this wood. Niiiiice!
Thank you very much Tome 😃
The start of great things to come.... Lovely little bowl. I have notified my friends & colleges where to start watching your channel from.
Oh my goodness John, I cringe when I watch my early videos lol
Found my way back to the beginning :-) what a lovely little bowl
Haha I find it so hard to watch my old stuff 😂 I do like this bowl though 😀
What a very useful, informative and easy to watch video. Thank you for sharing
Glad it was helpful! Thanks so much 😀
What a beautiful little candy dish. 🤩
Thank you 😋
Mike these videos are addictive.
Thanks Penny, so glad you like them.
I had to go back to the beginning Mike! This is a beautiful piece to start the channel with! Although, I am glad you changed the music...lol! I love your work Mike!
Thank you very much and yes the music did not last long lol 😂
Aw, I just saw your very first video! It was nice!
Haha this feels like an eternity ago lol 😃
Thought I'd look at your first video. Very nice!
haha that was so long ago, I dare not watch it lol 😃
@@MikeHolton It was very professionally done, Did you have any guides when you put it together? And what made you start?
@@oldguyinstanton No I just did some research, did a few tests then had a go lol
So glad your musical preferences improved
Haha me too 😅
Lovely little quick “epoxy” cheat there Mike 😉
Thanks Louis, it still is a great easy technique 😃
I found your channel today with the Deathly Hallows bowl. I’ve gone back to the beginning to watch them all
Wow, thanks!
So, that's video number 1 watched again. Enjoyed it first time round as well 😂 Already thinking about ideas for inlays 😊
I really enjoy doing these inlays, they are so much fun and quite easy to do. 😀
Looks great Mike, I could watch these types of videos all day.
Thanks Jordan, I'm the same 😁
Nice one Mike, this popped up on my feed today and it turned out to be your first video. Lots of changes since, great ones at that.
Haha, thanks Mike! Hard to believe that was only 15 months ago, not a great video but you have to start somewhere. I have learned so much since then and am still learning. I wonder how they will look in another 15 months?
Wow. I want to try that. But I will be 68 next month, and no money for the tools. I will live vicariously through you and your work, ok?
That is fine with me, I do the same with many other pastimes I can't afford 😀
I found your first video! 😋
Have also downloaded every video so now can watch all, and looking forward to them.
This bowl is beautiful in it's simplicity, thank you Mike
Haha all of them!!! 🤣, Look, with regards to the early ones, I was young and needed the money 🤣
@@MikeHolton yip all of them lol.
@@fionacrouch1732 Wow, that is a lot of hours of watching are you going to watch them in order?
@@MikeHolton I certainly am 😋
@@fionacrouch1732 😮🤣
Absolutely beautiful O_o Thank you so much for taking the time to share. I feel in love with the results. Keep up with the good work 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for the comment 🙂 really appreciate it.
I watched the most recent video, and I thought it would be fun to challenge myself to watch all the videos from the beginning.
Can anyone tell me if I have to watch the entire ad for the channel to get the revenue? One of them was over a quarter of an hour of some guy telling me that the road to fulfillment is to buy his Moroccan olive oil. For preference, I would skip it. But, I want to support Mike.
Hi Loran, just till you see the skip is good 😃
Very helpful
Right back to the beginning 😀
If you want to enjoy a thrilling experience, play the video at 1.5x speed, some of the music slaps even harder 🔥11/10 bowl-work
Ha, thanks, I'll give it a go.
Welcome to the tube my friend! I shall be watching what you make and commenting regularly 😁👍
I like this one ☝️
Thanks Dick, appreciate your support 😁
I love your woodwork it is amazing can you make a mushroom please :)
When you have done your reading and homework :D
Soon 😉
Wait a minute! I have an excuse, I'm a crooked ol man...🤣 I'm generally off center...😜 iroko? I'll have to look that one up. Looks much like oak, open grained as you said. Looks awesome though.🤝👍
Iroko is from West Africa as I recall and is quite fun to turn 😃
Great piece! Really like how the resin edge turned out! It may be a bit difficult in the beginning (from experience) but could you show the tools as you use them? I don't have much experience with woodwork, but i got a few years with metal work and the communication by showing the tools you use, and maybe talk a bit about them, before you use them is a good comfort thing!
You really seem to know what you're doing, so do you think you could try to make a antique styled clock housing? Or the wooden shoes you see often see from beginners?
I's a good point. I'll do my best
Thanks👍 it turned out great. I’m going to use your 5 minute epoxy tip, why didn’t I think of that before? Cheers
it works really well All the best, Mike 😃
Hi Mike, it's your new subs first question. Would "Acetone" work as a solvent to clean off the Y.grit?
I guess it would but having never done it I would not like to guess at it's effectiveness. All the best, Mike
Wellllllll shit, Mike. I’m out of videos.
Haha now what are you going to do!!! 😂😅😜 Start again?
@@MikeHolton Well yeah…you’re my absolute favorite turner. 🥸
@@DPerney1 Thanks so much 🥰
