  • We are RV camping on the north shore of Senators Wash. This boondocking area is right on the lake and they allow ATVs on the trails. It's a great deal for $7.50/night. We also share how much we like the inter agency access pass for camping on federal lands.

Being from Alaska I'm not an expert on hot weather camping either other then find a campsite with electric and run your AC. What we did a couple of times since we don't have a fantastic fan is open some windows and run the bathroom and hood vent fans, that helps some. Usually we are not the only campers, so running the generator all night is not an option I would do.

I grew up in the heat of South Texas. We didn't have AC until I was in high school. We battled heat with fans and windows. Put fans in the windows of the sunny side of the house or RV and have them blow outwards. This will pull in cooler air from the shady side, and really help drop the temp several more degreees. If you can put up tarps on all sides without an awning, that will give you more shade and help as well.

Found a campsite? Built some campsites with rugged launch ramps in the 80's. Now they have solar pay machine.

a couple of suggestions might be wear long-sleeve white shirts
the larger the better you walk around in shade
you could also carry a golf umbrella
if you deploy that under the hot sun again more shade
