The purpose of that tanks HV gun is to deal with allied armour. It's the same as the Panzer IV, which also evolved from a fire support vehicle into the main line tank, because it was a capable plattform

Pair the Type 3 Model I with the Type 5. The Type 5 takes the blows while the Type 3s support, brutal combo
Plus the type 5 has automatic reload(faster reload)

@@theShermanator yeah, the type 3 Model I has a way better main gun than the type 5 , you need both of them on the field to see any impact on enemy armor
