  • Completely transform any space with a Smartcret DIY-friendly microcement kit!
    If you’ve been anywhere lately, you’ve likely noticed that the exposed aggregate finishes (like troweled concrete, venetian plaster, or in this case, microcement) are all the rage right now. Not only do they look clean and contemporary, but they’re incredibly durable (when sealed) and in some cases are even waterproof. If the looks alone aren’t enough to persuade you, there are a number of benefits to using a system like ‪@smartcretdoityourself‬ for your next room transformation. For one, when compared to other typical renovations, microcement is a relatively quick and non-intrustve way to make a massive change to a room. And because microcrement can be applied overtop of existing porous and non-porous surfaces, It’s also cleaner and more economical (and means less waste for the landfills)!
    But as usual, dont just take our word for it. Be sure to check out their awesome system, including the fully customizable kit we used for this renovation, here 👉 www.smartcret.com/en/

    I love the way you explain how to do this. I have done it twice so far using a different company. How is this holding up? Is it in a clients home?

      Thanks! It’s holding up extremely well in our studio so not a ton of shower use. How about yours?

    Hi - After applying the sealer XS-327 as a prime coat and it dried in 12 hours, I noticed the concrete change color. The concrete was darker in some areas while normal in the other, creating a patchy look. Any suggestions on how to fix this so it's not blotchy?

    Would this work for hiding bodies behind walls like in The Cask of Amontillado by Edgar Allan Poe? How does this compare to traditional bricks and cement for hiding bodies behind walls?

      We’ll be testing that out shortly and documenting our experience. Stay tuned!

    Here's some feedback....shoot in 16:9 and frame for 9:16 cropping. Get a few establishing shots in 9:16 like the wide vertical of the entire shower if you need to. The bonus in shooting in 16:9 is that you capture a lot more information and now you have an original copy that's a lot more versatile for the next 10 years. I get it...tiktok....instagram.....but long form videos do better on RUclips. This format makes it practically impossible to watch.

      We truly appreciate the feedback! If you look back through our page we have done that in the past. At this moment we unfortunately are prioritizing our other social channels to ensure our content is the best on those platforms. Hopefully we’ll get back to 16:9 soon.
      Appreciate you!

    You mention a dustless sander? What do you use? I’d love to get one but have no idea which to get. Most reviews are not that great at brands Ibhave looked at. I’d love to know which one you are using in this as I am about to start this project at home, thanks to your video!! :)

      We have been using the Mirka extractor with various attachments for years, and only have good things to say about it. Frankly I don’t think we could survive without it 👍. Festool also makes one (which we haven’t tried) but is very popular amongst professionals.

    The website has a calculator for the amount of product you need. My bathroom is only 4 m2 but that is only the floor area so does the calculator account for all 4 walls or do I need to do my math differently? Sorry if this is a dumb question.

    • @RefreshHomeImprovements
      @RefreshHomeImprovements  2 месяца назад +1

      You have to do the math for all areas of the room. Just like if you were buying tile you need the square meters of every single surface getting treated

  • @boomdiddyah

    Can you scrub this like you would tile? Does it clean easily and we’ll?

    • @RefreshHomeImprovements
      @RefreshHomeImprovements  3 месяца назад +1

      Once it’s been properly sealed, it’s very durable (you just have to used a PH neutral soap). If you leave a section unsealed (like we did) then we would not recommend cleaning/scrubbing that area 👍
