Thanks bro. Yes, Before I created this video, I already finished 2 bathrooms. I know which part can be challenging. I think most people fail on micro because of the product (brand). The application is easy but it takes patients. Which country are you from?
Thanks ! I’m gonna take my time to go over the videos and start in April. I’ve never done anything like this before and just bought an apartment that’s renovated, everything except the bathroom 😅 I might have some questions along the way , hope you’ll find time to answer 😅
@thinkaroid7000 that will be exciting. Cemento.no also sells good quality microcement. I have a renovation timelapse also and other microcement video 😎
@thinkaroid7000 congrats! I’m happy for you. That will be an interesting project. Before the project: just make sure that everything is dry and clean and check if you need the help of a plumber. Just rewatch my step by step and my other video with timelapse and I think you’ll be ok. That project took me 3 weeks to finish. So shower is not allowed 😎 Good luck and God bless your project ☺️
Wow, great video and lots of tips. Thank you. I'm looking for ways to change the look of my tile bathroom and am considering this so this helps me a lot.
I have the links for the products and supplies in the description. Clean with some soap and clean clothe. Drying time depends. I just usually wait 1 day just to be sure but depends on the product and how much you applied. Good luck 😎
Hi! Thanks for the video. I'm trying to microcement over my fireplace on top of the existing tiles. I'm wondering why you use tile adhesive to fill the gaps rather than tile filler or grout. Could you help me understand?
Two things 1. Tile adhessive was recommended by the distributor. 2. Tile adhessive creates a strong bond between tile and surface. In addition: Will provide a good solid base for the primer and base cement.
Yes, apply waterproof after applying microcement. If you don’t have tiles around the drain or your waterproof is damaged, then you need to apply waterproof before application.
do you need to raise the drain to make way for the new elevation of the floor? i’m assuming the micro cement ends up being like 1/8”-1/4” thick on the shower floor, no?
No, I just laid up the new drain over the old drain and then I applied the base cement as thick as the new drain. When you are on the last application of microcement try to put some amount over the new drain so that the water will flow naturally. You can try to watch my video around that part to see what I mean. If you have more questions, just ask me again later.
I sold already that apartment. The buyer was very satisfied and they paid over the asking price. Glory to God. What do you want to know more since I have another apartment with microcement?
Hi, how’s your bathroom so far , did any of microcement detached from the tile? Do you have any problems with it? Thinking about revamping my bathroom like this but kinda scared of potential risks
I had mine in 2021 and I didn’t have any problems with it. I sold that apartment this year. We got multiple offers and got a higher selling price. All the glory to God
Best to waterproof first because if the wall or floor gets damage it will reduce the risk of water damage. Those bathroom in my 3 videos has a waterproof because it had a existing tiles. Where do you live?
Corner plaster bead for drywall (flexible not metal). It worked for both of the bathroom but I’m not a professional or licensed carpenter/contructor. So best to ask them. This is based on my own experience 😎
@@GabrielDimude I spray plaster and use plastic and paper corner beads just looking at what works It’s a diy microcememt job on my own bathroom But thanks for the info
Yes exactly paper plaster bead corner (not the metal). I did it in both of my bathrooms and it still works today. Thanks man for this question. This will help others 😎
Yes & No. Tile adhesive only between tiles to level the surface. Then primer over the tiles. Yes, it didn’t came off. I have it in both of my old and new apartment. Still works 😎
After applying the sealer XS-327 as a prime coat and it dried in 12 hours, I noticed the concrete change color. The concrete was darker in some areas while normal in the other, creating a patchy look. Any suggestions on how to fix this so it's not blotchy?
I haven’t have any problem with maintenance besides applying ceiling once every 2 years. My other apartment was sold over price and my other apartment got a lot of interested renters. The hard part of this is the application because it takes time to dry between application. Of course tiles will be more durable but the style of it is not so good in my opinion. Have you tried this before?
Hey Gabriel, thank you so much for this video. I have a genuine question. I plan to have a floating vanity counter top in the kitchen and thus most of it uses an L brackets to hold the top. My question is, 1. Should I microcement the surface first, then drill through the cement using the recommended drill bit(Glass bit) and then place the L brackets on to of the microcement layer? If so, would this method crack the microcement? 2. Should I drill through the tiles first and then place the L brackets in on top of the tiles? .then continue with the microcement journey? If so, would this crack the tile? It's a super long question and I know you arent a professional. But just wants your friendly opinion and or advice.
Wow! That's an exciting project. Update me later 🙂 My friendly opinion since I'm not a professional Question 1. Should I drill through the tiles first and then place the L brackets on top of the tiles? .then continue with the microcement journey? If so, would this crack the tile? Answer - You can do one or the other. The important thing is to use the correct equipment (glass drill/tile drill bit). If you apply the correct steps, I think it won't crack as long as the material under is stable and secure. Question 2. Should I drill through the tiles first and then place the L brackets in on top of the tiles? .then continue with the microcement journey? If so, would this crack the tile? Answer - You can do what fits your style. My friendly opinion is it won't crack the tile as long as the base of the tile is strong and secure. If the tiles under were placed correctly and have a good base under. Then the chance of breaking will be low. Good luck and God bless

Love it. I hope I can get this in the US…
You have it there but the quality here around Europe is much better based on the feedback from people who applied it there in US
You can also use a sponge while the medium is still moist to even out.
I understand what you mean but we don’t use sponge in microcement like the usual cement. We just sand it with sandpaper to even out.
great vid
Thanks man, all the glory be to God
A very well done video.
You don't need to prime the tiles prior to start?
And are you using tile glue in beginning ?
Tile paste first between the tile gaps to make the surface flat and then primer before applying 1st coat of base cement.
I love this video. What did you use to paint your cabinet and plumbing?
For the cabinets and plumbing.. is floor paint. So it can tolerate some moisture and scratch. Still works today. I recommend it 😎

Not professional advice just my opinion: use microcement with the entire process of application and then put over the shower tray. 😎

Yes, apply waterproof after applying microcement. If you don’t have tiles around the drain or your waterproof is damaged, then you need to apply waterproof before application.

So there is no need to put net under the cement if you are covering it over tiles?
On this product yes, no need for net.
Use net when there’s a gap or unstable surface.
Can you do a follow up video to show wear? Thanks, very interested.

Can I apply on top of self leveling concrete on the flooor of shower
I don’t know. Since I had only experience over tiles on bathroom. Was the bathroom previously had a waterproofing?

No. Usually it’s enough to use only mild soap with sponge or soft clothe because brush might damage the protection from the sealer
