Interestingly, this episode of KS is not about Mufti Menk. I say that without disrespecting him, as his replies were familiar from his other lectures and videos. To me, the gem of this episode lies in the questions that KJ and SH asked him-questions that touch on faith under fire, speaking truth to power, understanding if our repentance is accepted, and maintaining khusyuk when the world around us spins out of control.
In asking these questions, both of you did a bold thing by being vulnerable. It speaks volumes about your courage and the journeys you are currently on. Couldn't agree more. The answers is somewhat already inside us but refreshing our faith, emotions and rationale is very much necessary for all of us. I felt the same as what KJ and H has asked. We sometimes have that little doubt whether or not what we are doing is seen n known by The Almighty. Wallahualam..

Another refreshing aspect is that it’s in English. It's a neutral medium for Malay speakers like us to express doubts and uncertainties without being judged or misunderstood in our local contexts. Hearing the replies in English provides a kind of ‘perantaraan’ between you and your self-doubts, without the effect of being judged or letting self-blame creep in. It's interesting how sometimes the ‘penyampaian’ matters as much as the substance of the interview.

When both of you're kicked out from umno, I've never expected this kind of turnaround. It's so inspiring to watch this unfolds. May Allah always guide our leaders towards blessing paths, correcting them with rahmah.

whenever I look for religious talks on the internet, I always opt for mainstream Arab sheikhs instead of local Malaysian ustaz because the sheikhs' messages are always heartwarming, full of wisdom and nicely curated with morals of stories. You can feel that Islam is a very loving and merciful religion.
Yeah, and I like how they always include references from Quran & hadith so we know it’s legit & not just normal advice people give..

I think you just havent found the good ones from our local community, with the same quality that you mentioned. Alhamdulillah there are many, and some dont even wear thobes. May Allah guides to rightly guided knowledge and safety. Ameen

As a non muslim, I think it is important for different religious groups and non religious groups to collaborate and respect each other. Every person who has a religious belief is good because it helps them to do better. There are many people that have not practiced religion and are still ethical to promote religiouis harmony. Be good to support and empower others. Thank you Sheikh Mufti Menk for your message with KJ and SH. Keep promoting religious harmony all over the world.
I don't practice Islam but I adore this man, I get a lot of inspiration from his messages on Twitter.

And We indeed tested those who were before them. And Allah will certainly make (it) known (the truth of) those who are true, and will certainly make (it) known (the falsehood of) those who are liars, (although Allah knows all that before putting them to test)” [Qur'an:29:2-3]
To KJ and Shahril, if one day life takes both of u back to politic i hope that u guys will come out strong and better as politicians. Cause frankly speaking, i am once one of Malaysian citizens that was very hypercritical towards umno and u guys whenever my friends and i talk about politics with each other…as Muslim i pray that u guys and all other politicians will always be guided by Allah..because in the end our goal is for the betterment of our country
We definitely learned a lot from KSs (Keluar Sekejap & Kindred Stories) about politics, socials, economics, financials and faiths. Hopefully, most if not all politicians in Malaysia learned a thing or two from KSs too.

33:10:00 "Jika ada jiran yang walaupun bukan Muslim, penuhi hak mereka. Jika mereka Muslim, maka akan berganda hak mereka. Jika mereka saudara, berlipat-ganda lebih penting untuk penuhi hak mereka."
Apakah maksud kejayaan yang sebenarnya? Tidak bolehkah kita berusaha, bekerja keras, dan ingin menikmati sesuatu di dunia ini? Harta, wanita dan sebagainya. Menarik jawapan dari Mufti Menk berkenaan apakah itu kejayaan di dunia & kejayaan dari perspektif Islam.
Jadikan kejayaan, kekayaan & autoriti kita sebagai tiket kita untuk ke kejayaan yang sebenar = Syurga.
Dan di segmen akhir bicara Mufti berkenaan genosid terbesar dalam hidup kita setakat ini. Apa yang perlu kita lakukan dengan segala kemampuan & keterbatasan kita juga sangat mencerahkan.

I love mufti Menk for more than 10 years and this is the first time I watch the whole episode of kindred’s story. Well done.
Mufti Menk was right when he said he was the earlier ones that uses the new media for his da’wah. MashaAllah, I can attest that my journey to rediscover Islam came from his CDs and online lectures. I am a big fan. May Allah reward him.
I pray and make doa that KJ becomes PM and that Shahril joins him in his Goverment. I can see that both of them are rooted, understands the deen to know that Islam is applicable in all aspects of life. Malaysia can lead and be exemplary to showcase the real beauty of the religion. But I do think that probably KJ and Shahril were not able to get the answers they wanted to some questions, feels like they wanted an answer more related to the local context but Mufti Menk was more focused on the international context which is understandable. Overall it was a great episode I really hope you get a lot of views.
