I felt like it was about people in Turkey. The things you said about hijabis being considered as uneducated and a villager felt so relatable. It is actually a struggle of being a hijabi in the west, but also in muslim countries.
So, so, *so* many people in Asia in general need to see this. The Middle East & South Asia both have this issue. We call such people "Angrezo ke ghulaam", meaning the slaves of the Englishmen (or just English-speaking White people in general). If your skin is lighter, they treat it as something to be lauded and a dark skin as something to be ashamed of. Of course not everyone feels this way but this way of thinking is way too prevalent back in South Asia.
