One thing that isn’t discussed enough is how a woman feels insecure when her man doesn’t lower his gaze. And how that little action makes her want to expose her beauty to appear appealing as well. Not blaming men, but this is an overlooked pivotal component when it comes to modesty
Agreed. Of course hijab should be observed regardless, but the husband should facilitate this for his wife as much as possible. It’s similar to when a woman doesn’t fulfil her husband physically by not taking care of her appearance, so he finds it more difficult to lower his gaze. Ultimately both sides need to fulfil each other’s rights for the most secure marriage.
We can't blame anyone to not fulfilling the duties upon us as women no matter what .. and of course this is test ...it means we prioritize husband over the commandments of ALLAH...we want to make him satisfy first then ALLAH....it's our weaknesses of Iman ...so we should think more clearly

Salam. I am a student of the Quran.. i love syed maudoodi's tufheem ul quran as the best guide to understand my purpose of life. But i think in quraan fehmee, Noman Ali khan , is far ahhhead of Dr Israr ,Syed Maudoodi and all others. He dives deeper than anyone else. His ennglish is phenomenal. He is funny and he understand himan psychology. All these traits combination, makes himm the most versatile teacher of quran in a century. Of course that is my take on it. I may b wrong. I always stand corred in my thoughts, beliefs, inferences and takes. I am open to correction from everyone, even children.😢. I dont say It as an artificiall shoow of hummility but I mean it.
It is a strugle but to focus as a negation as in "I should not watch this" it becomes even more heavier, it is very important to have our minds and lifes filled with activities that really inspire us.
That is so true alot of times people who treat others with no respect, with rudeness, and ill treatment usually are the ones with emptiness inside them. They project the inside of their souls unto others.

Does this mean that girls should never look pretty until marriage? When going shops, parties, weddings, looking for a spouse. What’s the limit?? But before that it can be hard to get married and not look pretty. Just confused. Never ever knew this was the women’s fitna- learnt something new. I always knew men had to lower their gaze and women too.
nouman ali-your point on women wanting to be beautiful is mostly true however I think you forgot to mention how women face double standards and extreme pressure to always be presentable. Wanting to look beautiful is not just innate but a societal expectation. However men face less pressure to look presentable and to look at women in objectifying ways,the way men look at women has more to do with how NORMALISED objectifying women is rather then it being innate and god-given. Men sin by looking at women in objectifying ways,however women don't really sin in the same equal measure just by merely trying to look beautiful as it is expected of them and they are ridiculed if they don't meet beauty standards. Therefore, i disagree that women sin by simply wanting to be beautiful as there is no malicious intention behind it.
