So both of these dances were created by the girls. They couldn't afford a choreographer in their early career so they didn't really have a choice. I think it's cool cause you can see the improvement in their skills as choreographers through the years. With each comeback you can see how much more creative they are with their formations and moving around the 'stage', using different levels in height to give visual interest (like squatting or kneeling), and just the moves they choose to sell certain concepts or emotions. That's something not all choreographers can do. It's one thing to make a dance that's pretty and fits the beat or the vibe. It's another to translate the meaning and emotion of a song into movement. Decalcomanie (which you pronounced correctly btw!) is the full French word for what we call 'decal'. The literal meaning is something that imprints itself onto something else. So they really took that concept and ran with it in their choreo. The dance is full of mirror imagery. Throughout the song they have moments where two or all four of them will turn to each other and perform the moves as mirror images to the other. It's so clever and so well executed. The little BTS dance video you watched was them showcasing different 'versions' of the dance. The first part was them competing in pairs by doing their mirror scenes from the video. In the typical choreo, although they have moments where they do mirror each other, they don't mirror each other in the chorus Moonbyul's last rap. So in order to shoot the scene for the video where they are on either side of the mirror, they had to change the choreo to be mirror image and had to practice being in sync for those whole parts. When they first started, she was apparently banned from smiling. Apparently the company thought she had an ugly smile and didn't like how her nose scrunches up. I have no idea what the hell they were looking at, cause I love her smile. It's so pretty and the nose scrunch is adorable! And as you said, it's contagious! But she still likes her smile, which I'm glad for, and she even mentions it in "Yes, I Am". I don't remember if you saw that one yet, so if not, the song essentially is Mamamoo's self love song where they talk about how they don't fit KBS but are still beautiful and they still love themselves despite how society might view them.

The music used in the intro and kissing interlude segment of the MV is from Memory, a b-side from the same album, which is called Memory. This is a good example of why I hate kpop's misuse of the term "title track" for the main single on an album. I think you're on the right track with the comment about the different vibe of each kissing scene. During their MVs the members often express their own take on the emotion and situation of the song in solo scenes and then they gather together in solidarity at the end. They ARE wonderful dancers. And surprising too. During any given live performance, they might have a well practiced dance break that blasts in outta nowhere. Some of the most shockingly great dancing you will see anywhere. Each one of them,. incredibly talented and attractive. Anyone telling any one of them they were too old or too ugly to be on stage needs to have not only his eyes examined, but his head examined too. Producers say that stuff all of the time,.. go home you don't look right. Egotistic is one of their absolute best unforgettable MVs . Hard to say how steals the show most. Arguably the HOTTEST thing Mamamoo has ever done. And that is saying A LOT!!! It's also notable that like the 3 stooges in their old movies, everyone in the group all date the same person. There's probably little need to focus on different guys tho. I don't think anyone is looking at the guy here. When being worldwide ICONIC is this easy for 4 women, you have to wonder what is going on. The guy, well aside from me and every other male wanting to be that guy, one minor message of the song the guy doesnt matter that is why it is the same guy in each scene. Amusing are the past interviews with them explaining how they got through the kissing scenes because like most idols not a whole lot of experience in that area. The scene in the middle of the video is actually a different and very beautiful song memory. it actually is one of their christmas songs but incredibly beautiful, for some reason they put it in the middle of the decalcomanie MV, normally mamamoo would show a clip of a new song at the end of videos. The dance practice is they are practicing the mirror choreo, Solar and Wheein in Red dresses mirroring in the MV, Hwasa and Moonbyul in the Tuxes mirroring, then they do more lol. Yeah that is Solar on a pole, she learned it after a back injury and used it in this MV and later live performances as well as a cover of Despacito. This MV his sexy and one of the best songs, you cant help but move to it, such a perfectly made song.

There’s a “blistering sun” version they released in 2021 in their anthology album and the instrumental goes even harder. I know you’re mostly focusing on the music but it would be awesome for you to check out some of their crack personality videos too, they’re so funny and you are guaranteed a fun time. The video where they’re eating and drinking after the egotistic choreo video was a sneak peak at their tipsy live. They’ve done a few of those where they basically eat, drink, and play games.

The third video is a dance practice, as RBW couldn't afford a choreographer then. They come up with their dance moves. They are not as lucky as the other 3rd Gen groups, but at least they are happy. By the way, Hwasa will be touring the States this March. Catch her up; no regrets.
Someone else might have pointed it out but Solar and Wheein did the mirror dance first in the video and then Moonbyul and Hwasa. In the first dance practice, effective you asked if it was a dance battle, they were doing the mirror dances. I've never seen that video. Aya is a great video and one of my favorites is windflower. Immortal songs medleys is a great one if you haven't don't that but i don't feel enough people talk about watching the actual immortal songs performance. Backwoods and way too sampo are my favorite. These highlight their voices and it's not about dancing, just fyi.

I read that RBW was not a rich company when Mamamooo started with them. They could not even afford proper advertising for the group, a choreographer, etc.. The dude in the vid (Lucky effer...) was probably the cheapest available. (The last part about the dude is just me thinking out loud.)
Something I have seen other reactors do is flip TV show videos left to right to get around the censorship bots. Others do some kind of still picture overlay which blocks the view somewhat, which is not very appealing, obviously.
Oh I'll try flipping it. Never thought of that. Sometimes distorting the sound helps but it's horrible. I did it 2x but hated it. 😭 I had no choice though.

🤣 Honestly, I am always thrown off with sexual metaphors or symbols WHEN I watch anything kpop. It's just not on my radar especially how proper the idols are expected to be (maybe that's changing in how they dress when performing, not in real life). Now, when I watch a western MV or performance, it's expected so my brain will automatically go there. 🤭
By the way, you can find shows where they are either hosts or guest or it's just them together being a complete chaotic mess. They've been known to destroy shows, just rolling around having fun, tearing down sets, throwing parties with fans in the audience. The word is to never allow them to run their own shows. It WILL devolve into wrestling, drinking and chaotic nonsense. Which is to say, it's not un-entertaining to watch. They're endlessly fun and hilarious. But the sheer chaos of some of their appearances is astounding. And you KNOW it's coming when they walk out too.

Arguably the HOTTEST thing Mamamoo has ever done. And that is saying A LOT!!! It's also notable that like the 3 stooges in their old movies, everyone in the group all date the same person. There's probably little need to focus on different guys tho. I don't think anyone is looking at the guy here. When being worldwide ICONIC is this easy for 4 women, you have to wonder what is going on. Keep in mind, they came from practically nothing with little money behind them, they built themselves up thru sheer talent and persistence.

My favorite part of that is the later scene of all of them watching the video and Solar getting mad at Moonbyul and Moonbyul apologizing like she did something wrong rather than finding it disgusting. (Her reaction after "cut" is one of the most obvious ever.)

The guy, well aside from me and every other male wanting to be that guy, one minor message of the song the guy doesnt matter that is why it is the same guy in each scene. Amusing are the past interviews with them explaining how they got through the kissing scenes because like most idols not a whole lot of experience in that area. The scene in the middle of the video is actually a different and very beautiful song memory. it actually is one of their christmas songs but incredibly beautiful, for some reason they put it in the middle of the decalcomanie MV, normally mamamoo would show a clip of a new song at the end of videos. The dance practice is they are practicing the mirror choreo, Solar and Wheein in Red dresses mirroring in the MV, Hwasa and Moonbyul in the Tuxes mirroring, then they do more lol. Yeah that is Solar on a pole, she learned it after a back injury and used it in this MV and later live performances as well as a cover of Despacito. This MV his sexy and one of the best songs, you cant help but move to it, such a perfectly made song.
Thanks for sharing some of the background stuff, I love hearing it and I'm sure new moomoos like myself benefit from it. I thought it was done very well and I love the artistic, creative element to it.

Wow you really chose the two sexiest songs to put in one video 😅 I also love Egotistic the most, it’s at the top of my list and it has nothing to do with blonde Solar on the pole lol. There’s a “blistering sun” version they released in 2021 in their anthology album and the instrumental goes even harder.
I know you’re mostly focusing on the music but it would be awesome for you to check out some of their crack personality videos too, they’re so funny and you are guaranteed a fun time. The video where they’re eating and drinking after the egotistic choreo video was a sneak peak at their tipsy live. They’ve done a few of those where they basically eat, drink, and play games.
Forgot to add: there are a lot of Egotistic live performances in their various outfits from the MV but the dresses in the one you watched were also in the MV (towards of the end when they spinning and Solar was doing her adlibs) 😉

The slow part of the MV is from a different song on the album called Memory. I believe the first part of the MMM TV episode was a re-enactment of the mirror dance scene. There is seasons of content on MMM TV that are just BTS video's of them. It's a fun watch.
It's not that they can't dance... it's just not a priority. When they started the company couldn't afford a chorographer, they were doing it themselves.

You didn't recognize the part in the middle of Decalcomanie because they segued into a b-side from the same album, "Memories", and then back into the original song.
🤭 Sitting there lost in the music and the visuals "is" a reaction. Probably the most common reaction to MMM. Make no mistake we love to hear your thoughts and commentary. But don't feel the need to apologize for just taking it in first. Or pausing and repeating. There are some reactors that are so busy commenting often without pausing that they actually miss 3/4 of the song they are supposed to be reacting to 🤔😖. I think you do just fine. Great reaction. Also, you can always head over to their YT channel and just watch random episodes from MMMTV if you find yourself with free time. They aren't very long, but they can be addictive. A lot of it is them playing with each other or with the camera crew. I think they all have CC's now. ❤
The third video is a dance practice, as RBW couldn't afford a choreographer then. They come up with their dance moves. They are not as lucky as the other 3rd Gen groups, but at least they are happy. By the way, Hwasa will be touring the States this March. Catch her up; no regrets.

Someone else might have pointed it out but Solar and Wheein did the mirror dance first in the video and then Moonbyul and Hwasa. In the first dance practice, effective you asked if it was a dance battle, they were doing the mirror dances. I've never seen that video. Aya is a great video and one of my favorites is windflower. Immortal songs medleys is a great one if you haven't don't that but i don't feel enough people talk about watching the actual immortal songs performance. Backwoods and way too sampo are my favorite. These highlight their voices and it's not about dancing, just fyi.

I read that RBW was not a rich company when Mamamooo started with them. They could not even afford proper advertising for the group, a choreographer, etc.. The dude in the vid (Lucky effer...) was probably the cheapest available. (The last part about the dude is just me thinking out loud.)

Something I have seen other reactors do is flip TV show videos left to right to get around the censorship bots. Others do some kind of still picture overlay which blocks the view somewhat, which is not very appealing, obviously.

Concerning your question about male caucasian love interest, I just remember the MV of the song Mamma Mia by Narsha (member of the Brown Eyed Girls). In particular, there's a very explicit kissing scene with a male caucasian model. Decalcomanie from Mamamoo was released in 2016, Mamma Mia in 2010. Narsha is a member of the still active Brown Eyed Girls group, whose debut dates back to 2006. If you're not familiar with this group, I recommend a reaction to the MVs of 'Sixth Sense' or 'Abracadabra', two of their iconic songs. For Mamma Mia, Narsha sings featuring the three female members of the co-ed group Sunny Hill.
