@@BEATSBYDNVN Haven't had chance to play for more than a few hours total. Very little compares to the feeling of swinging and executing a turn and gunning down enemies. Seems to be a good about of side quests. I can see it being a bit samey, but given how enjoyable I found it its not necessarily a bad thing. Just give it a punt and play for just under 2 hours. Don't like refund. Sorry I can't br more helpful
@@BEATSBYDNVN depends on what you’re after and how much you enjoy it. I definitely think the game is worth buying, even if you only play through it the one time. It’s a genuinely impressive game. But if you’re looking for something that you can play over and over then I’m not sure. There are loads of different style side quests, complete with competitive leaderboards that offer a great long term challenge, so you might find what you’re after. Personally, I haven’t come back to it since completing the story, but I still stand by the 9. It’s an absolutely excellent game and well worth the time and money.
I picked this title up a couple days ago and can't put it down! No VR sickness at all, and the sense of openness is awesome. I love the really HIGH swings over the rooftops! If you're on the fence about this one, get off. Jump in. WORTH IT.
"Everything in Resist works seamlessly to craft a believable and immersive world" adverts for real world products took me out of the game, especially in a futuristic setting. Don't pretend those spaces couldn't have better been used to do something fun or artistic. Btw your review was the reason I tried the game, I absolutely agree that the swinging mechanics are fantastic and by far are the best I have experienced in any vr game, and I am absolutely glad I purchased it. But come on man, I can't believe you didn't mention how cringe the streamer character is
@@yoshen433 Well, sorry the adverts took you out of the game, but we didn't have any issues with them at all since they're really just advertising the dev's other titles and not something we associate with the 'real world'. Also, we don't "pretend" anything, so you might want to dump that attitude at the door. Somethig bothered you that didn't bother us. It's that simple. Nothing worth getting insulting about. As for the streamer, it was quite clear to us that the streamer character was a parody character and explicitly designed to be somewhat cringy. So again, not an issue that needed to be mentioned.
@@6DOFReviews my point was that the use of billboard to do something fun/ artistic is universally better than actual advertising. I think it's hard to argue otherwise but I would like to hear what you think. Also the parody didn't fly over my head don't worry, I just don't always agree that parody = carte blanche to be as obnoxious as possible. There comes a point where I stop laughing at the cringe and just cringe at the cringe, but I acknowledge that's an issue that is most likely unique to me. Its all good bro, I'm still just salty about the zenith "non review"
Excited to hear the motion sickness issue is fixed but how does the new traversing feature work? What is the detached feature? How does it prevent motion sickness?
So when I played it in pre-release your motion was attached to a fixed direction in real life. What I mean is that if you jumped somewhere but then turned your body in real life it will try and adjust your swing motion momentum to match the direction you are facing. It essentially meant that you had to play it facing the same direction all the time and do all of your rotation with the thumb sticks. I find that very challenging as I instinctively move in real life when I play VR. That meant that I would find myself grappling and then moving in completely different directions to what I was expecting. Worse was when your jet pack controls were locked to the direction that you were originally facing so pushing forward on the thumb stick would suddenly see you lurching diagonally backwards or some such. All of these issues are where most of my motion sickness came from. The detached mode changes that so that your trajectory is not attached to your view. This means that you can do things like launch at the top of a swing arc and turn around IRL 180° and blast the drones following you. In the old method turning around 180 would’ve seen your trajectory lurch suddenly. I feel like I’ve explained that poorly, sorry. A game writer should be able to do better than that…
I've played for an hour, but couldn't get the hang of swinging around corners...and there was that motion sickness again....returned the game, but this was 2/3 weeks ago so maybe they have had another patch. It looked great and i really wanted to play it...if corrected than this can be a great game i'm sure of that
Have you tried switching your controls to “detached” mode? I struggled with motion sickness until I switched to that, but from that point on it was smooth swinging. Also, if you’re on the Q2 Switching to 90hz mode is highly recommended

A little bit of Titanfall vibes, what with mounting the mechs and pulling the battery
Good to know. Paused the vid, brought the game and carried on watching 👀 👌

It really is a fantastic game! Glad you're enjoying it as much as we do!
Completely agree, this game is Wow fantastic and the voice work is top tier
It really is! We're surprised it hasn't been getting more press and attention!
This just got what sounds like a substantial visual update for Quest 3
jeez you are underrated as hell
Preach! :) Thank you!
I just purchased this because of your review. Im enjoying it so far.
Its what Swarm 2 should have been.
Glad you’re enjoying it! We loved it :)
Great review !! Well spoken and good humor , i dont undertand how your channel dont have more subscibers
Neither do we, but thank you :))
Wow a 9! Awesome! Putting on my wishlist!

Great review, sir.
Now THAT is some high praise indeed, thanks Doc
How have I not heard if this. I need something after returning zenith
Yeah, it’s surprisingly under-hyped, but it’s a fantastic game!
Great review, will check it out. Considering re-reviewing Contractors?
Thanks :) And yes, but we’re a bit backlogged at the moment, barely keeping up with new releases. Real life is taking its toll somewhat :)
5:56 or the adverts for other games on the billboards, but I am sure those didn't bother anyone and certainly were not worth mentioning 😉
A developer advertising their other games on billboards inside a virtual city in their own game…
Why would that bother anyone?
