I think Norm is the only modern comedian that understood what funny really is on a deeper and more grounded level than Patrice, they are my number one and two. However Patrice really focused more on studying human behavior rather than just comedy itself so Norm goes above him on my list. Norm Macdonald was one of the funniest men that ever lived. He was a comedic genius. The secret to appreciating his comedy is, you have to listen to what he's saying. There were several funny parts in the 12 minute joke, but y'all were talking amongst yourselves, and completely missed them.
I think we might need to watch something else from him, we easily got the joke it was just so long winded which we realize it is a 12 minute joke but, it should still be funny overall and it just wasn’t to us. If you want to recommend another one, we might be open to checking it out.

If there is a punch line it's pretty lame like a dad joke - that's not the important thing to look for or appreciate - again it is a odd and unique style that might take a few times to get used too. It is usually a story with funny/odd/stylistic mannerism as a commentary on the events in the story that is what is too be funny.
