Well done!!! Entering the carousel, turn 6, the line is to enter about 2/3 of the way to the right, more than that, you hit marbles and lose grip. It's also slightly embanked up to around 2/3 of the way to the right on entry. Your understanding of the line is excellent!
Thank you. So turn 6 could be slightly improved?
Just a tad. Just that we teach the "school" line so we are all on the same page. You will notice that there are nuances all over the place, camber here, flat there, marbles, etc etc. Have a known line through the track, that can attain track record speeds, let you focus on where to go. Everything you do in a car can give you some extra in one place, at the expense of it at another place.
Thank you for the tips. My first trip to Sonoma with be on June 25, 2022.
How was your first experience?
@@getfasterE36 It did not go well. I was in the novice group with experienced cars driving GT300, GT500 and McClaren cars! This made no sense since they hugged my bumper and dive bombed me in the corners while I was trying to learn the line. No action was taken when I brought up these issues during the post session driver's meetings. This rattled me so I could not get the "groove" of the track. I left after two sessions. I may try again after more sessions at Thunderhill and Laguna Seca.
Which organization did you go with?
@@getfasterE36 I won't say because HPDE is a small community. Last week I had two great days at Thunderhill. Thursday with Track Nights on the west track and Friday with Hooked On Driving on the east track.
Thunderhill is a fun track.
thanks
Wish I had raceways or winding roads where I live
I wish I lived closer to a track as well. My nearest track is over 100 miles away.
I hope Chase Elliott watched this.
Hahaha. I'm sure Kevin Harvick did. His line at Sonoma is perfect!
You wanna be on the right side, then get passed lol
