- Hey dudes, hope everyone is well. In this video we talk about using the Grip Puppies after a month. These definitely make a difference to the feel and comfort of your bike, for me though there are a few things I'm not so keen on. This is obviously personal and some riders may not have the issues I have, but do I still think they're worth it? For the money, absolutely!

I feel that your right hand cramp problems may be unique to you, as most of us older riders use Grip Puppies to relieve hand cramps. They also help with arthritic hands. I have used them on every bike I've owned for the past 20 years and consider them essential, along with mirror extenders.
Just fitted mine- they feel fantastic in my (massive) hands so expect they’ll be exactly what I’m hoping for 😊
Great Video as always!
September 4, 2023, I have a 2022 Triumph Rocket 3R, I pitched new in July 2023. I put the grip puppies on because my throttle hand was getting pins and needles feeling numb after about an hour. I feel the grips are a little too large in diameter and that’s disappointing to me as I feel I don’t have full control of the handlebars like I did before. Vibration on this bike is not an issue. I’m considering cutting them off even though I’ve only run them for a short time. I wish grip puppies made one that’s half the thickness from what their current ones offer. I’ve looked for other manufacturers that may offer a thinner grip, but have found none.
Same exact bike, burnt orange and left handlebar vibrates like crazy. Been considering these pups
Great video, I bought some for my triumph explorer to reduce vibration causing pins and needles. I didn't like them being so fat so I put them on my Transalp. Here we are months later and I've just got another set for the Triumph to try again. Cruise control helps massively and I've found it worse when I have my phone ram mount on my handlebars.
Hopefully I'll avoid the snow foam 😂😂
LoL
Snow foam/ Soap foam...
Thank you
Just installed them yesterday and rode them today. I used to have these on my cbf125 and remember them helping me massively with the massive vibrations on that bike. I’ve now put them on my v strom and I’m going to wait a while , like you to make a judgement. I got them because I wanted to damped vibration as much as possible as I was getting wrist pain before.
Yeah pretty much the same reason I put them on mate. Glad they're helping. 🤜🤛
I ordered mine as I have a 2001 Sportster... so vibration is an issue 😮. Thanks for the heads up.
I have a pair on an R1250GS and get the same problem with my right hand, possibly because I always have 2 fingers on the brake. I have had them on for close on a year and there is a definite discomfort there so they came off yesterday....
Great job 🙏
I had the same issue..both of my hands were sore while using grip puppies after riding for an hour or so
Thank you! Vibrations are a big issue.
I bought some and took em off next day ,change whole control of bike ,there too wide ,nice feeling on ha ds but to wide ,didn't feel like I had full control
I know I am late to this party, but try some different gloves, maybe summer gloves instead of winter gloves. I found I have problems with the ball of my thumb and the area between my thumb and index finger. Also consider changing the angle of the handlebars by moving them slightly in the clamps.
Check out if you start to get " càrpel tunnel " like i did . Miner surgery on the 2 wrist fixed this up .
Bigger Weighted bar ends helped me too
Cling wrap or sandwich bag over each grip before the snow foam wash might help
Yeah I tried various things, I ended up just cleaning them as well and leaving them to dry. 🤜🤛
I get cramp in my throttle hand standard bars on a crf300l. I'm sure it's tension but the grips are quite thin. I wonder if a piece of bicycle tube would help slightly.
Not really sure tbh. Not something I've ever tried. The main I'd be worried about is if the tube was to slip, this could cause problems with the accelerator.
@@MotoEcosse I fitted Grip Puppies and really like them.
i ride a ninja 400 and i get a real bad case of death grip, the vibrations really aren’t too bad, and idk if it’s cause i have large hands, but i start to feel the cramping barely even 10 minutes in to holding the throttle, and i don’t squeeze the handlebars real hard, and i’ve had some real bad cramps from sweeping for long times, so im assuming it’s related to the little girth of the handlebars, but after seeing some of these videos i’m just really not sure what i gotta do, or if there even is a solution at all, ig i’m just looking for someone similar situations, maybe someone else who has found a solution to quickly cramped up hands
Hey, Donovin. I also had trouble with cramping up and just general discomfort. These definitely helped. They're not a complete fix for the issue but they definitely do provide extra comfort and the wider grips definitely helped me with the cramping. 🤜🤛
@@MotoEcosse i’ll take my chances and give it a shot, appreciate the advice👍
haha 'grip puppies' - sounds like an option in a brothel, it can't just be me that chortles everytime you said 'puppies', but enough schoolboy humour, thank's for the info, maybe i'll try some now i know about them :)
Sounds like a touch of arthritis creeping in. I have both arthritis and Diabetic Neuropathy and I find I have to keep my hands warm. Even at times stop and deal with it as needed, a good dose of hot water, I keep hot pads with me, extra gloves and the list can go on. Just depends on the day.
I had my right hand go numb without the grip puppies so I tried them out, but sadly it still occurs, i have a loose grip on the handle but still.. But it might be a case of Carpal tunnel syndrome.
I occasionally have still have this also. Always seems to be my right hand
@@MotoEcosse adjust the bars and also may help to move the grips in by 10mm inline with shoulder better
I have a Harley & they have larger grips as accessories. Been struggling for years with pins and needles in my throttle hand. I found that the larger grips tightened most gloves around the bass of my thumb cutting down the blood flow to my hand causing pins & needles. Bought a new bike with standard grips now it’s rear to have the problem. Also have favourite gloves that fit a bit looser around the thumb & forefinger which helps.
Roll the bars back, change to a screwdriver grip, elbows out. Get off the nerve running down your thumb.
I found it to be quite difficult to tighten them again round de standard grips after I removed them to see what how the bike rode without (they were on the bike when I bought it). They keep turning quite easily. Degreasing both did not help yet. I put them on with a little bit of soapwater. Now wait a day or two to dry and I hope they stick tight, because I found it quite unsafe that they are loose and can quite easily turn around while riding.
I found the opposite. I get cramps without grip puppies. I love the thicker feel. Depends on the size of your gand maybe. They are on all my bikes except the Harley which has fat grips to start with
What are they like in the rain? do they turn into a wet sponge? subbed
Hey man, no they're absolutely fine in the rain. They can take an hour or so to dry after washing the bike though. Appreciate the sub. 🤜🤛
@@MotoEcosse Fitted them today, great job, improved comfort cheap mod that's well worth it.
I put a set on my Er6 and agree they do dampen the vibrations ,i was getting abit of cramp in my left hand but it was in heavy traffic when i was using clutch alot👍
Did you keep yours on, Derek?
@@MotoEcosse Aye, i quite like them 👍
Man, the speech pattern is mighty unpleasant to the ear. Like he is eating while talking.
Don't you mean accent?
Speech pattern? That's a new one.
Ordered them to try on my BMW F800FT which is notorious for handlebar vibration. I continually get pins and needles in my fingers so hopefully this will sort it.
