Zero Discrimination Day | UNWPA

March 1 is a day dedicated to allow people to live freely, equally and with dignity. On this day, we celebrate the Zero Discrimation Day as part of raising awareness for the continued existence of prejudice covered in different means. Despite the progress of the world towards the future, discrinimination still persists to affect people’s daily lives. Everyday people face prejudice in a variety of situations. It can be in the workplace, school, neighborhood, airports, and even in hospitals. The sad reality is that although we are living in a modernized environment, our values and perception still linger in the past wherein inequality and injustice are prominent.
As an action to tackle this global issue, Zero Discrimination Day is celebrated by United Nations and other similar international organization to promote equality, love, acceptance, compassion and connection among people with massive difference. The 1st of March is a day to laugh without doubt of the future, to walk without fear of judgment and to speak with assurance and support. Just like how the world is without corners, let us all be connected by love and respect for every person. Human rights are not a privilege. Your rights are everyone’s right too.

3月1日は、人々が自由に、平等に、尊厳を持って暮らせるようにするため制定された日です。この日は、さまざまな手段で覆い隠された偏見が存在し続けることへの意識を高める一環として、「差別ゼロの日」を祝います。未来に向けた世界の進歩にもかかわらず差別はまだ根強く残っており、人々の日常生活に影響を及ぼしています。日々、人々はたくさんの場面で偏見に直面しています。それは、職場、学校、近所、空港、そして病院でも・・悲しいことに、私たちは近代化された環境に住んでいるにもかかわらず、私たちの価値観や認識は、いまだに不平等と不公平が目立っていた過去のままなのです。
この地球規模の問題に取り組む行動として、「差別ゼロの日」は、国連や他の同様の国際機関によって祝われ、大きな違いを持つ人々の間の平等、愛、受容、思いやり、つながりを促進します。 3月1日は、未来を疑うことなく笑い、判断を恐れずに歩き、安心と支持をもって話す日です。世界が丸くつながっているのと同じように、私たちもすべての人への愛と敬意を持ってつながりましょう。人権は特権ではありません。あなたの権利は皆の権利でもあるのです。
