28 years old and decided to take the dive in going bald. Have to admit it was frightening as I was going into this new transition. After I finished I felt a huge weight off my chest. It felt so good embracing the new look, and I don't regret it.
Same I am 28 and I just started shaving mine. It was on my mind for a while and I was looking forward to it. Just decided to do it one day. Its definitely something you do not plan for you just have to join the gang! Bald is beautiful! Bald gang
So I'm only 19 and have consistently been shaving my head completely bald for roughly half a year or longer. I started noticing that my hair was receding when I was like 17 and that took a pretty big toll on me considering I had medium length hair and put a lot of effort into trying to style it, which overtime just led to a weird com over type thing as my hair loss progressed over the last couple of years. I turn 20 next month and I'm really glad I decided to start shaving my head completely because I definitely didn't want to be one of those guys that clings onto the hair on the sides of their head or use a hairpiece. I'm way more confident now than I ever was. Thank you for this video as I believe it will help a lot of guys out when going through similar things.
Gets easier as you get older. To be honest, if you look good with a shaved head it is not even an issue. One good thing is you never have to think about how your hair looks.
Happy for you Ryan and well done for having the courage to embrace this completely natural change that us men go through sometimes! I've been there :) Stay well my friend
Fortunately i shaved my head a lot as teenager so I was used to the bald look. When I started losing my hair for real, it was a huge shock at first, but there was no looking back now. Head shaving became a necessity instead of just change up in my look. 👍🏾
I started to shave my head about 5 years ago, and now I've started to shave it with a Razor. Thank you for all the tips and thank you for making this vid 💕
Can I just say that, as a new bald head shaver, this video is exactly what I’ve been looking for. You’re straightforward, compassionate approach to giving this advice is fantastic. Keep it up!

i shaved my head bald september 30 of 2022 due to trich and i have a lot of videos about my journey on my channel. best decision ever, i'm so glad i did it. it was liberating and empowering. life changing.
The last part of this video is truly inspiring. “... an opportunity to take a look within yourself ...” Wise words. Really appreciate you making this video. I’ve been shaving my head for 5 years now and have just begun trying to use blade (hate the bumps from using a clipper). Hopefully my first blade-shave goes well. Thanks again! 😆
I'm genetically bald (M shape) inherited from my father. Front hairline was tall since primary, but it just gets super obvious now I'm in my 27. It bothers me because my long hair just doesn't work well with wind and I find myself always trying to perming my hair curly to create volume and wearing a cap to hide the front baldness. Can't even enjoy the wind when I go cycling. I have now decided to go buzz cut first. And eventually find my way towards embracing full bald shave. Thanks for the words toward the end of the video, they were really helpful 💪
One thing I discovered recently to shave just after shower when my scalp is still moisturized...use a 5-head head shaver and then follow up with the good ol 5 or 6 blade shave for a quick smoothening of my dome.
Your advice to people on hair loss is such a positive thing that I think even full haired people might go the way of baldness. Personally, I both shave and buzz cut depending on mood. My main issue is that I have bumps and cherry angiomas to deal with which leads to cuts here and there. And it doesn't matter whether I use a double bladed disposable shaver like BIC or an old fashioned double edged safety razor. And of course, once you have a few nicks then it's easy to recut those same spots. But most of the time it's all right.
so im 14 it’s my first time shaving my head since all my hair is falling out from chemotherapy this really help i had too look in mirror for 3 hours too get used too it...
Thank you sir! I’m about to cut my fiancé bald. The barbershop did it the first time last week, but used clippers. We are going to use the razor at home today. 😬 Wish us luck!
I hope you see this comment. Thank you very much for this video. I'm 24 and I just shaved my head today. I'm still very insecure about it but this video helped a lot. I'm not going to look through your channel and girly find more head shaving videos. If you see this, how can I get rid of the"shadow" from the rest of my hair after I've shaved? I want a cleaner look but don't know how.
Hey man! Thanks so much for taking the time to tune in to the video and also, congrats on taking the step to shave your head! I was also 24 the first time I did so. I hope you find the rest of my channel helpful too if you do get a chance to look at it :) I would say for having the cleanest shave possible, it's best to shave against the grain. Naturally the 'shadow' may return a day or two after shaving but that's completely normal. If you haven't got the most sensitive skin then you may be able to get away with daily shaving and never having to deal with the shadow. Hope that helps :)
What I like about your channel Ricky, is that you are not only giving some tips on safe head shaving, but that you're also focusing on mental health. I can relate to the stories you've told. Keep up the great job you're doing!
Thank you Michal! Makes me happy to know the content has been relatable and of course, something like hair loss and mental health go hand in hand in my eyes. I hope you continue to enjoy the content coming up in the future 🙏🏽👊🏽
My situation is a bit different. I am balding, have been for a number of years but primarily I want to shave my head because of my dry scalp and my case of dermatitis that I can't shake no matter what shampoo I've tried. I normally shave my head with my trimmer and a 00000 blade which is as close to the skin as possible, only one level above completely bald. I have only shaved my head once with a razor but personally I think shaving makes the most sense in the shower which minimizes cuts, razor bumps, keeping your face or scalp warm makes shaving much easier.
What a guy! Thanx for the motivation. Just subscribed✌🏾❤️ I began balding at the age of 18 and decided to shave it and see how I look. One of the best decisions in my life
My pleasure dude and thank you so much! I couldn't be happier to hear you got such a positive result from it all. Keep shining my friend and I hope you enjoy the upcoming content :)
I'm 64, with a recent cancer diagnosis. About 3 weeks after my first chemotherapy, my hair began falling out in big clumps... I looked like a mangey coyote! So, now I'm rockin' the Telly Savalas look. I have a lot of ink, which I used to conceal because I was a medical professional before retirement. Now I wear sleeveless T's, cargo shorts and Doc Martens, and top it off with RayBan Harbormaster sunglasses. I also lost about 30 lbs due to lack of appetite. I'm 6'4" and 185 lbs today. People who knew me before hardly recognize me today!
I've been looking up advice for shaving my head all day and this video was so great for my nerves. Really gave my a clear and concise idea about what I can do to make the experience better. Really what I needed today so thank you man.
I’m just a 17 year old kid who likes going bald, it’s gonna be like my 4th time around when I do it tomorrow. It’s fun for me, and plus I like how it looks
I’m 28 and be suffering and letting balding stop me form living my life since 23. I’m just now ready to catch up on all the things I been missing out on.
For awhile ive thought alot about losing my hair, tbf i do think I've otherthinked it cause my hairline hasn't changed for like 5 years now, but within this ive found that if i care so much about having hair i should probably just get rid of it, then it has no bearing on my conscience if it ever really does go properly, which is what ive been doing for months now, i love being bald, thanks for the video
Im 16 and i am going to shave my head to try something different. Right now my hair goes about to the tip of my nose. Im going to go bald in like december. Im not losing my hair but im shaving it to try soemthing different and for confidence. Im gonna rock that shit so hard.
So, just hit 50 awhile back and slowly accepting the comb-over thing is getting increasingly untenable....I do like to wear what hair I have "High and Tight" with a skin fade on the sides and it does (briefly) distract from how little remains up top, but this is just a stop-gap. The comb-over I have isn't completely pathetic--yet, but checking out videos like this on how to take that next step when I decide it's time. Will probably keep my Van Dyke beard/stache to balance out the bald top when that time does come.
Maybe it's because I was used to get getting buzzcuts my entire life, but making the jump to full-on bald actually wasn't that scary for me, thankfully. What I definitely agree with you on, and what I want other guys who aren't having as easy a time as I did to know, is that you'll find out....you actually don't look half bad with it all off or, even better, you look *better* than you did with your hair. Even though mine would never grow very long, I always felt kinda dorky with it at a certain length, especially before I grew my beard (which, unfortunately, being almost 23, has yet to attain your level of gloriousness). But now? Damn, shave my head down and with the facial hair I've got....even *I* have to admit I look good, and I have self-esteem problems besides. Appreciate the vid, broski, and especially that you just gave advice and not a documentary with a laundry list of expensive "must-have" products.
Don’t forget to use an astringent after shaving. I personally use witch hazel wipes. This also helps prevent razor bumbs and feels really good on your scalp.
I’m 30 and not balding but my hair is very corse and hard to do anything with. I shaved my head today and like it. I was always stressed out with my hair and feel this is the way.
bro any video where you are practically showing how to shave the head yourself? My wife's been doing it for me and I want to be self sufficient! Thank you
Im 18 and being Bald runs in the family. I notice that I have weak hair in the top of my head, so I want to shave everything because I really dont like the "crown". And I fell kind of sad because my parent are against me shaving it. But damn if I can look like you Im shaving it. You look fire man. I know os early but i want to try it now
I shaved against the grain on the back of the head where the hair is thicker. I got spots then popped the spots and they marked my skin! No shaving against the grain for me.
Same. I need to find some kind of electric razor though if I'm to keep going. I'm so slow with a normal razor it's ridiculous. Sides and especially the back are all the trouble. Being bald on top would hardly make it any faster imo, that's the easiest bit.
@@UsernameInvalidTHIS I bought some generic rechargeable 4D electric head shaver from Aliexpress that cost me around $15. It's easy to use and maintain.
@@Avetarx Yeah, I'm looking around at them atm. When the shaver shop opens up again here I'm going to look at them in person. Philips ones are a bit of money, but when you compare them to the price of a few haircuts...
Absolutely! If you check out my videos i've actually done a few reviews on different products and also did a video on Buzzing your head with a razor VS Buzzing with an electric shaver which may be of interest :) Will try do more in the future too.
I’m 17 and I have alopecia and I have bald spots every where so when I shave I can’t get it done far enough to look completely bald because u can still see where my bald spots are so it’s kinda irritating
I hate my hair a lot. I have a very bad hairline, I have multiple cowlicks, and curly unmanageable hair, all by birth... I have decided to go bald this video helped me a lot. Thanks👍
Im a fan of using high quality hair conditioner. Cheaper stuff is too watery. Second... use a safety razor. Feel free to get used to using it on your face, but eventually use it on your head. Double edge razors are just better than cartridges for many reasons. Multi blade cartridges cause a bunch of issues for people. Razor burn, irritation, ingrown hairs. Every stroke you do has 3 or more blades running across your skin. Not only that but hairs are being cut muliple times in quick succession while stretched. This can cause hairs to be cut below the skin causing ingrown hairs. "Tugging" is mostly a cartridge thing. On a DE razor with a good handle and a good blade, this is not a thing. And deprogram yourself from cartridge style shaving. You dont need to use pressure when using a de razor. The weight of the razor does the work for you. Go spend 40 to 60 on a reputable DE Razor. And buy a couple of different blades to see what suits you. Some people like a more aggressive blade, some like less aggressive. Outside of all that, you will save money vs cartridge razors. Its more of a upfront cost but you will make up for it with the money you save over the year. Plus, if you take good care of the razor, it can last a lifetime. My father used the same one for 30 years. And being that blades are so inexpensive, you can literally use a new one every week or few days if you choose. Good luck fellow shavers
I had full hair I mean pony tail up type one day I decided to take a different look at the picture and shaved my head from having my head full and healthy hair to a nice and cooling refreshing shaved head and it made me physically and mentally better and a hole lot of people lived my knew look when I went to my high the next day having my peers complement and tell me that it look better this way made me feel better about it so if your reading this and thinking maybe I should shave my head go for it I mean it's not like it will be like that for ever and you could be looking good
I actually have a full head of hair but starting going bald because I thought it would save money by not paying a barber $30 per week and would be less maintenance... Fast forward... Keeping a bald head is a lot of maintenance. Far more maintenance than just having hair! I grew my hair back out and giving my barber business again 😭
Although I'm balding my gf likes when I just shave my head with the shaver but I'm fed up with shaving my head once a week just wanna go bold that way I can shave not so often but she really doesn't want me to go completely bold
I've shaved my head for the past 20 years and now I can't imagine having hair. Hell... I can't even stand to wear a hat. If anything is covering my head, it feels too hot or squeezed. I see people with long hair now and think "That must be so uncomfortable." But it takes all kinds and more power to people with any style. My only regret about shaving my head was that I didn't do it sooner.
I am 20, already went bald with these foil shavers, now thinking about full switch to razors. Good thing (and a bad thing at once xd) is that I am very tall and quite muscular in general, suits me well (but I was on a brink of full blown anxiety when I've noticed that crown going bald), but at the same time I am the only one bald at my lectures (barely anyone is bald in the UK while in their 20s, in my home country its more common) and other students ask me odd questions or avoid me in general because of some stupid stereotypes, while others get attracted to me, which is kinda funny and sad at once. But, at least I feel way better after switching to that egg look.

Me too 👌🏿, thank you this is so inspiring and hearing from someone who knows how I feel at 33 losing my hair
I started losing hair at 26. Went bald at 29. Still shaving or go for the buzz cut. It doesn't bother anymore
I shaved against the grain on the back of the head where the hair is thicker. I got spots then popped the spots and they marked my skin! No shaving against the grain for me.
This quarantine has made me to cut my hair and I begun to sport a bald cut which I like a lot! Thanks for great tips! 🌝👌
Great to hear and happy to hear you like the look too! Blessings to you!
Philips ones are a bit of money, but when you compare them to the price of a few haircuts...
man last tips were gold
my hair loss starts at 19 I'm pretty done with hiding this fact
and I decided to embrace it at 23
Been on the 0 shaver for years. Going to try full blade cut now. Good vid
Nice! Hope it goes well :) Thanks for tuning in!
All I can say is "You one Kool Real Dude" thank you for posting my brother...
Thanks bud. Very helpful. I wasn't doing it so well.
My pleasure Sheldon! Hope it is going better now and stay well !
Guys that are ashamed of having to shave their heads, think about this: Michael Jordan, The Rock, Shaq, Jeff Bezos, Mr Clean. All bald, all studs.
Mr Clean.😂
Tupac
Thank you for your post. It is hard time seeing your hair go. And that post picked up my spirits.
Steve Mcfadden tho
@Patrick Bertlein plenty of white men brother , Jason statham , bruce willis the list goes on and on!
Ay I'm not balding but I shave my head because I like it, is that so uncommon?
Thanks for the video, can you also test a few shavers and show us which saver works best? Eg. Disposable, double side blade, etc...
Absolutely! If you check out my videos i've actually done a few reviews on different products and also did a video on Buzzing your head with a razor VS Buzzing with an electric shaver which may be of interest :) Will try do more in the future too.
Solid tips and channel man, new sub!
Much appreciated man! Thanks for taking the time to show your support :)
Wow 😲 I didn't expect that, I feel so motivated.
Happy to know you've been motivated my friend! Thank you so much for taking the time to tune in :)
Oh man all I asked for and even more. Thanks for the advice and help dude
My pleasure! :) Thanks for watching and wish you all the best on your journey!
I’m 17 and I have alopecia and I have bald spots every where so when I shave I can’t get it done far enough to look completely bald because u can still see where my bald spots are so it’s kinda irritating
Followed this advice today and one of your other vids before I braved it. Spot on, thank you 👍🪒
Use soaps and brush friend! Another level!👍🏻
I hate my hair a lot. I have a very bad hairline, I have multiple cowlicks, and curly unmanageable hair, all by birth... I have decided to go bald this video helped me a lot. Thanks👍
I make my own shaving when you mix egg whites long enough it becomes very similar to shaving creme without the chemicals inside it.
Great video, how often would you shave your head? Every 4 days, or?
I've been avoiding going bald for so long only because I have super sensitive skin. Never could even use a straight razor when I had a hairline.
You really did nail this video bro, thanks for the help👌
Thanks bro! Really appreciated the kind words!
I had full hair I mean pony tail up type one day I decided to take a different look at the picture and shaved my head from having my head full and healthy hair to a nice and cooling refreshing shaved head and it made me physically and mentally better and a hole lot of people lived my knew look when I went to my high the next day having my peers complement and tell me that it look better this way made me feel better about it so if your reading this and thinking maybe I should shave my head go for it I mean it's not like it will be like that for ever and you could be looking good
I just shaved 🪒 my hair because I wanted to know how I would look after my barber messed up my fro and I like it
I actually have a full head of hair but starting going bald because I thought it would save money by not paying a barber $30 per week and would be less maintenance... Fast forward... Keeping a bald head is a lot of maintenance. Far more maintenance than just having hair! I grew my hair back out and giving my barber business again 😭
I was 19 when I first shaved my head!
What a guy. Thankyou for this video . Inspired now too
Thank you for the kind comment my friend! My pleasure and happy to know it was able to inspire you. Stay well :)
I shave my head because of the grey peppery hair I have had since I was 25. it makes me feel old even tho I'm 40 now.
Subscribed...very helpful and informative
im not balding or anything im just bored in quarentine and wanna give it a try :D
Yeah
Although I'm balding my gf likes when I just shave my head with the shaver but I'm fed up with shaving my head once a week just wanna go bold that way I can shave not so often but she really doesn't want me to go completely bold
I've shaved my head for the past 20 years and now I can't imagine having hair. Hell... I can't even stand to wear a hat. If anything is covering my head, it feels too hot or squeezed. I see people with long hair now and think "That must be so uncomfortable." But it takes all kinds and more power to people with any style. My only regret about shaving my head was that I didn't do it sooner.
Super tips Sir you had saved my money and confident
Your absolutely right
If you want to Plow through days of hair growth with no pull or irritation... get yourself a merkur 39C slant... it will go through like butter.
