Want to look 13% stronger? Shave your head.
At least that's the finding from a new research which suggests that men who take the preemptive step of shaving their head appear tougher and more powerful than others.
A shaved head indicates dominance, authority and… being in control.
Sounds like a fitting description of Hollywood’s leading action stars - Bruce Willis, Dwayne Johnson, Vin Diesel and Jason Statham. Their shaved head plays a significant role in their tough-guy image.

In our societies, the norm is to have hair. Someone shaving his head sends a strong message socially : they made a choice, a strong choice, which usually tells a lot about their will and force of character.
They didn't make a choice. Shitty genes did it for them.
@@luizmarinho6138 well said
I have been dancing at a party with a girl and she said to me you strike me as a confident man.
Well how 'bout, fuck the "norm".
@@luizmarinho6138 Bald by choice here,I'm still have all my hair and is pretty thick actually
Can confirm. I’m in my late 20s and had been balding for almost 8 years. Decided to shave my head and rock it proudly and the first kind of comments I heard from friends were about how manly I looked. This in turn made me feel even more confident and I can now say it changed my life for the better. Great video 👍
What about dating life ?
I mean of course balding looks worse than shaven head but a full head of hair is obviously better
@@subhambiswas8374 I became more handsome after shaving my head tbh
@@foxc8646 Not always so
Also what stile clothes they wear.
I’m 26 years old, and run a few businesses and sometimes clients are a little confused/disappointed when they see a young person who takes charge. When I started shaving my head, it seemed like now all the clients want to start talking about their family like I’m 40 with kids. I will say the best part about is the signal of dominance and the age part. It really helps me move things in a positive direction faster for my clients. It definitely suits a strong, no nonsense type of personality
Buzzcut, or full razor shave?
Really like your comment.
A shaved head does not connote dominance; it connotes age, which connotes wisdom and therefore dominance. If you're willing to trade sexuality for that, so be it.
Probably because most people aren’t bald till later in life so it gives the impression that you’re older.

I've always had a thin frame, 6' tall. I grew up being perceived as the nice guy, and I tended to be treated like a doormat. My hairline has gradually been receding for a few years now. When I finally took matters into my own hands and shaved, I noticed a big difference in how people treat me. Just in the past few weeks, a friend described me as looking "hard," people tend to break eye contact with me more often, people tend to look to me for leadership, and I get told all the time that I look good.
Had male pattern baldness starting even in high school, so always wore my hair short. Started with the #1 buzz cut 20-odd years ago, and been shaved to the bone the last ten. There's a big difference in how people react between even #0 and razor cut - they don't mess with you, you get more respect, and better service. But it is high-maintenance and both summer and winter have their challenges
Im guessing sun burns in summer and having to moisturize in the winter to avoid cracked scalp?
@@unknowntosociety01 yup, just like having more face to wash, and it gets really cold in winter. There's a noticeable difference in thermodynamics between freshly-shaved and a few days growth. I always have sunscreen handy in summer, it's bad to overcharge the solar panel
I get more respect too. People feel bad for me because they think I'm a cancer patient.
I shaved my head.. best hairstyle ive ever had haha
Josaiah Tuitahi haha!
Honestly I didn't think I was gonna love it the way I do it's great
Same here and people treat me like a kingpin 😁👍
All the money I've saved on haircuts alone for the last decade is a strong enough argument, but I look way better than I feared when I first took the plunge.
@JTuitahi I'm twenty three I might be joining you I noticed a slight traction on one side now I'm ready to let it go
I'm a 19 year old woman and I'm recently bald. But I learned to own it and I feel more confident now than I ever have before (even though I'm asked at least once a day to "tell my cancer story")

Just tell them that shaving your hair means people have to focus more on your face, since there is no hair to distract them.
I’ve never shaved my head until last night finally did it and I love it I have people saying all types of negative things but I’ll never go back to having hair I love it I definitely feel more confident in myself.
@@throttleholic Good for you. Just tell the nay sayers that bald you can never have a bad hair day. Also an excellent cure for dandruff. Plus it's cheaper than going to a barbershop or hair salon. Wigs today look very real I wouldn’t care but make sure it goes with your personality.
Since I started shaving my head and growing A beard life has got better for me for sure.
I started going bald when I was 19. Ever since then I've started shaving my head. Because for me baldness was going to be a choice not an inevitability. The reactions I've gotten has been overwhelmingly positive. Women say I look much better with a shaved head than with hair. And while I do miss my ability to grow long hair, I tend to agree with them that I look good rocking the dome.
Aaron Halladay great to hear!
I’m there with you brother I started thinning real early and I took charge . I’m not about to rely on my last little strands of thin hair
wait! you started balding because you started shaving your head??
Been shaving my head for years. The very first night I shaved it, I was told by several people, I looked more muscular. NEVER looked back!
Mine started thinning at 16. I thought my life was over honestly. I kept it short up until 21 when I completely got rid of it. I can honestly say as soon as I shaved it all the paranoid thoughts of people noticing or whatever just disappeared. I'm 24 now and wouldn't have it any other way.
I'm a male nurse, have been shaving my head for 12 years. I work in a female dominate field, I grew my hair out a couple years back and just about all the others nurses strongly suggested I shave it again. So I did. I think about the shaved head vs hair vs full head of hair is mostly based on what people are used to seeing you with.
Is this real? That is so positive.... Can u tell more about this?
@@kedarpethe Well yeah if people are used to seeing you with long hair then short hair is going to look strange to them however a random stranger seeing your short hair for the first time isn't going to look strange to them

See my head? I love it. The absence of hair gives me a sense of freedom, and I feel like a burden has been taken away from me for ever. Of course, the financial benefit of not having to go to the barber. Opting to go bald was one of my proudest life decisions.
I wore a pice from hair club for men for about 10 years. I just woke up one day and went for it and never regretted it!
Good for you!

same situation here. During lockdown I wanted to trim my longer hair and messed it up. Decided to go bald instead since I've never done that before and it looks awesome! Even razor shaved it and started to grow a beard too. Now shaving every morning to keep it smooth and will keep it like that for a long time before maybe growing my hair back at some point in the future

Same Situation here. I started to shave my head sone 39 years ago. Am 70 today and sport a completely white full beard. The ladies love it!
I am balding and have had a shaved head for more than 10 years. Thinning or receding hair is in my mind unappealing on me. I understand it takes a bit of courage to shave it off but worth it in the end.
I feel much better every time I shave and don't miss having hair at all, in fact I prefer being bald now. Just be confident, it's no big deal.
I agree with you. Started shaving mine years ago. Got tired of looking at it getting thinner and greyer. Have never regretted it. Though I was amused at how much it freaked out my sister. Still think it's funny.
If that’s you on the pic the bald head looks sharp!

Lost hair early, 17-18, hid under a hat for 20+ years. Just couldn’t deal with the reality. Fast forward to now- new gf loves the shaved look, but only she sees it. Her son has first communion Saturday. No hats allowed in Catholic Church. This Saturday the whole world gets to see the new confident bald me. Giving up the hats for good 😅 what took me so long?
I used that same study and wrote a paper in my undergrad on why men with thinning hair should just shave their heads. You’re right; for those of us that have shaved our heads - once we do, we never look back!
I shaved my head since 4 years, and I feel far more confident in life, I m very happy with it
Started shaving my head in the Army & never looked back! All I use is Edge Gel for sensitive skin & Mach 3 razors. I never get ready burn & the shave is smooth as silk. A few months ago, just before I turned 23, I decided to shave off my shoulder length hair due to a receding hairline. Honestly, I've had no negative comments and a few good ones, but in general people don't seem to care much. My confidence has increased enormously though and I really enjoy it. Fortunately I've been told I have a good head shape to pull it off and fairly sharp features. I even had a hot girl ask a friend of mine in the bathrooms of a bar if I was single the other day.
Unfortunately that friend was my ex haha.
This video hits all the marks, it's so true! 😂😂😂😂 I was born with a full head of hair and now in my middle age, I decided to shave off all of my hair for the hell of it. Recently, I did a social experiment when I went shopping with my wife and the reactions that I received from a lot of men were very interesting! These men who had heads full with hair looked at me with a sense of fear and respect, it was amazing to witness! 👍🏻
Also, there are many womem who like men with shaved heads. My wife likes me with hair but she also likes me with a shaved head too. In fact, there are many women who like guys with shaved heads and for any guys out there with shaved heads, you know what I'm talking about! 😉
I look forward to seeing more of your videos! You just earned a new subscriber! 😎
I'm 18 and I shaved my head this past school year (while I was 17 and a junior). It was interesting because at a school of over 3000 kids I might have been the only bald boy. I didn't really notice much of a difference as far as the reaction from people I was in charge of (in JROTC), but I actually did notice I got really mixed reactions from girls. Some loved it because it was unique and some hated it.
You were the only bald boy? So there were some bald girls too? 😁
I originally shaved my head due to religious reasons ( my dad passed away ). Since then I have maintained the shaved head simply because it was easier to keep than visiting a barber every two weeks to keep the haircut looking good. Now I shave every 2-3 days and it only takes about 10-15 mins. I'm 40 and have a full head of hair. Basically less fuss and stress.
Sorry to hear about your father. May he rest in peace. I shaved mine when my friends daughter had leukemia. Her husband and I both did it and she buzzed hers. I liked the look. And haven't felt as sexy as I am now. I make self deprecating jokes to cope. Lol
+NoBullFitness Thank you for the condolences. Most folks who see me now assume that I shave my head because i'm balding. One guy was actually shocked when my hair grew out and he saw that I have a full head of hair. I have noticed that there is a subtle change in how people approach me.
+Randhir Sookdeo I know exactly what you mean! I'm a big muscular guy. Powerlifter. So the bald head actually helps with the image. I have a security job which makes me seem more intimidating I'm not a tall guy at 5'10" and 235. It'I just gives me a more imposing look
How is your dad passing a religious reason to shave your head ?? Hindu ?
Jason Statham, Vin Diesel, The Rock ... prime example of bald dominance and masculinity

I was real happy to see this, I started to thin in my early 30's, been shaving it since. Glad there wasn't a negative stigma.
Same with me in my mid-twenties. I would, and still at 30, just get a number 2, or 1 all around at the barbershop. I might start shaving my head later in life.

Oh, lord.
As a balding guy myself with a shaved head here is my take. When your hair is falling out your confidence is in the crapper. You are trying to style it right to hide it, wondering if the sun is peaking through or if that person is looking you in the eyes or at your hairline. Shaving your head is the most amazing freedom you will ever feel. No more stressing out over it, or dumping dangerous chemicals on your head, your done. It does give you a ton of confidence because your bald everyone can see it and you don't care anymore.
It visually looks better
I’ve been shaving my head for a few months now. Getting close to 40 yrs old, receding hair line, average body type, also sporting a full beard. With a little confidence it’s really worked out for me. Getting more attention from younger girls in their mid to late 20’s. If your loosing your hair fellas, shave your head. Dollar shave club is pretty good, highly recommended.
I started loosing my hair on the front 2 sides and in the middle at about 24. I buzzed it and just decided to shave it! I'm now 35 and still rock the bald head. I love it...I shave it when it gets stubbly and its a reassuring sense of hygiene and cleanliness to me. Also the feeling of being my own barber. Not having to wait in long lines for that specific barber is bliss! I just walk to the sink and get at it! LOL! This was an interesting video though. Might I add that before I shaved it regularly around 24 I had DEEP 360 waves! It took a while for me to get over not having my waves and carrying around my brush. I'm not mad at all....I just rode with the punches and kept trucking!
shaved head suits best if you have muscular body.
Yeah, that's true, you have to be in pretty good shape for a shaved head to work for you.
+stan smith What's this horrendous head shape most people refer to?
Peter :P I didn't mean head shape, I mean you have to have a good physique for a shaved head to look good, it won't work if you're scrawny or overweight.
+stan smith Ah right I get you and you're absolutely correct
A well groomed beard too helps.. Something like lazar angelov.
Definitely. I shaved my head last Wednesday and I have noticed a stark difference in how people look at me. I am already told I have a serious demeanor and I think the baldness amplifies that perception.
I had thinning hair from 21 to 25. I never had luck with the ladies in this period and felt insecure.
a week before my 26 birthday, I was fed up and shaved my whole head. I started getting compliments from my female friends and got looks from women.
I think what would up my chances of being portrayed as bold, confident and "sexy" is to loose weight, gain muscle and update my wardrobe (I'm quite the geeky type and just wore anything)
+riacharda keep it up! :)
I shave my head every other day I love how it feels and looks...I do feel more confident in every day life.

Shave your head and grow a goatee!
I shave my head (or actually I just buzz it as short as you can, without a guard attached) once a week even if I'm not going bald. The clippers I use costed about 30 euros, the prize for one haircut here in Finland. From time to time I let my hair grow a little longer, but I couldn't even imagine going through a hot summer with hair. I haven't really noticed any difference to the amount of attention I get from women when having hair compared to having a shaved head. I guess I'm lucky enough to have the right face shape for a shaved head. But then again why would anyone make all their decisions based on whether women are going to like it or not. Man up, confidence is the key :)
Don Draper you probably save a ton of $ not going to the barber.
I do the same. It's a superior haircut for men. 👍 I'm living in Sweden 🇸🇪
Because getting women is the most important thing in life thats why. Lol
Shaved heads are fashionable right now. Men look, cleaner and younger with a bald head. I’m a fan 🤗
Hi! I'm 30, and Idecided to shave my hair because I used to have a baby face, and I was sick about it. The thing is: I'm still have a baby face, very trusty and very young face, but the shaved hair goes with this , and now I think now I get the masculinity and confidence the shaved head represents, but at the same time, a baby boy face: which is awsome! I feel there's kind of a balance: I look agressive and I have a baby face at te same time...
I pretty much like it, and I just can't stop shaving anymore... And believe me: once you shave it, it gets like an addiction: you cant stopdoing that!
By the way: I just love your precious tips, and I have to say I became addicted not only about shaving, but on your videos too!

You don't have to be balding to shave your head. Many men just don't like hair on their heads. I think every man should try a shaved slick head at least once--and keep it that way for a month or more to see if he ever wants to grow hair back.
My father passed away in Jan 2019 and in India, it is a custom that the son has to shave his head just after the 1-week rituals are over. So I too shaved my hair for the first time in my life. Its like 4 months now and I have decided to go with the bald head as I have the body-type that goes well with a shaved head. I now find it's easier to
1) Maintain the hair (no hair)
2) Standout in among a group of people (in the right way)
3) Command more respect from subordinates (somehow its comes automatically which is funny)
4) Metal sunglasses look perfect.
I agree 100% with whatever has been said in the video and the study.
Listening to this while shaving my head
Since shaving my head, I've been told I look younger and more dominant. I have also gotten more positive comments from women.
I agree. My thinning hair made me look older and just tired. I shaved it all off, and never looked back..
I started shaving my head at 35 and found that some women really like shaved head dudes. I do work out regularly and have a nice physique but the shiny dome helps my macho image.
I’ve been shaving my head bald for over 15 years now. I do it because I hate having hair on my skull. Feels weird and foreign to me. For me it was negative stereotyping for me. People assumed I’m hyper militant or part of a fascist organization. Both of these idiotic assumptions never applied to me. I still sport a shaven skull with confidence and don’t give a damn what people think about me.
I refuse to be someone that I’m not. That’s the ultimate insult to masculinity imo, being fake.
I have always been a reserved individual. I had really nice hair throughout high school. But around 19 years old i started noticing my hairline receding. It freaked me out. My hair started thinning really bad. I used rogaine for about a decade and i tried everything to hide it. My confidence was shot and i never really dated anyone in my 20's. It was hard because i already had trouble talking to women and on top of that i was losing my hair. Just last year i decide to shave it. It was weird at first but I got used to it. I dont even stress about it anymore. As a matter of fact I have gotten more attention bald then when i had hair. I think the fact that i shaved helped alleviate the stress from my shoulders. In an odd way i felt more confident. As a result i had more success with women than when i had hair. At the end of the day it doesn't matter. Women are going to like you for who you are regardless of hair. Confidence goes a long way. So if any of you out there are stressing about it just shave it, give it some time, and you'll get used to it. But during that time build yourself. Improve your life and confidence. It'll go a long way.
I found that anytime im going through a stressful life situation, i feel the need to shave my hair, i feel empowerment.
Lost my hair, shaved the rest.doesnt matter anymore what women think. They wasn't caring when I had hair. So I am fine without it.
all men have to thank Bruce Willis for making shaved heads be the epitomy of Badassness :-)
And Jason Statham

And Imhotep😂

Had been losing hair for a few years. Tried to ignore it. Got it cropped close. The next step to shaved was anticlimactic. Glad to hear the positive results I'm getting that I didn't even realize. For a pretty short guy I've never had issues with confidence, but glad to know my "look" is helping me out. LOL! Anyone one wondering if you should do it - of course! Hair will grow back.
I started balding early and when I decided to shave my head i started getting a lot of attention ... mostly positive from men and women ... the couple of times when i had negative comments from it was when someone ask me if i was a skin head ... and when i had someone who had negative experiences with people who shaved their heads for rebellious reasons... as far as the attractiveness comment goes women find the shaved look much more attractive than a balding look... if you are balding when you take the leap and shave your head you will notice right away that people think you look younger also
Chris, bald is the newest blonde!👩🏻🦲 Which I coin "blalde" or "baldett"
Naturally, balds have more fun than blondes, because they have no hair to fuss over.
@@staceyking7911 Just as long as we don't get any negative stereotypes because of it.
My hairline has been "escaping" since I was 20 or so (25 now), so for past 2 years I've been rocking a extremely short buzz cut accompanied with varying degrees of beard.
I've been once told that (due to my style) I'm like a poor mans Jason Statham, which I took as a great compliment since Statham is quite a badass. I've also often been perceived as 2-5 years older than I actually am, which once again, I don't mind at all.
Matti Siekkinen.
Shaved head man. 20 years now. People don’t mess with you. You can give them a look and they back off. The women that like bald heads are the best kind. Definitely balance it out with a decent beard. Various lengths are fine but do something that’s youthful and fits your face framing well. Unless you like the wizard beard. I’ll wait for that when I’m grey.
My barber screwed up my haircut so bad that I shaved my head completely to make it better. I have to admit, i have noticed a difference in the way prople react to me now.
I am 19 and already carried myself with confidence do partially to my muscularity and physique. Now I have young men my age calling me "Sir" and getting out of my way when I walk through the college campus. Here's the thing, im only 5'6 and 145 pounds, but people are genuinely respectful of me and treat me like I am a giant. Its pretty cool
Are you going to keep it shaved? Sounds like it might be better to.
I'm 62 in decent condition. I've taken up boxing to stay healthy , some muscle, but not a whole lot. Let me tell you, young folks, it's a matter of how you perceive yourself and how confident you are in yourself and your character. Like old-fashioned words for young men used to be of great value . Like honor, dignity, respect ,valuing, and keeping ones word, dependentable, and humility. That makes people move when you come around or into a room. It's not muscle or being cocky. A bald head is a great thing, but the quality of character is greater.
I decided to shave my head a few years ago and it was honestly the greatest decision I've ever made, I now bench press 100lbs more than I used to, im way tougher and girls are far more attracted to me, I strongly urge every man and woman to shave their heads, its the key to success in life !
shaved my head for year's on and off but I prefer it short less hassle and Easy to mantain I couldn't care less what people think it's just hair.
I’m just going to say this I had long dreadlocks over 12 inches long. It took my cousin dying, loosing my apartment, and working dam near everyday to try and hold onto it. One day while driving I felt and thud on my shoulder. I didn’t know what it was when I had time to check a whole dread from the back gave up. I didn’t think it was too noticeable till I felt bare skin. I spiraled since then worrying about if people can see it wearing my dreads up so on. It wasn’t till watching Bald Cafe to where I said screw it I’m letting it go. I took my clippers and began cutting took me 1.5-2 hours to cut it all off (didn’t have scissors and the clippers kept overheating). The feeling of finally letting it go is like nothing I’ve felt before the first shower with a bald head was crazy. Since then honestly I keep having women of various ages staring hard af at me and I acknowledge it could be various reasons they could think I look off/weird or even handsome.I’ve gotten to the point where looks don’t matter like they used to. I wear a hat daily particularly because I enjoy seeing my bald ahh head when it’s me myself and I. I wouldn’t change the decision to shave my head I personally love how I look thick unkept beard, brown eyes, nice skin. I will say I look a lot more aggressive with my head bald. If your thinking of cutting your hair from balding or receding hairline let it go. Just let it go and move forward life is too big and full to be worrying about your hair.
I started shaving my head over 10 years ago after my hairline started to recede. Best decision I ever made. My head is kinda shaped like a "peanut" so women tell me they love my bald head.
im 20 years old and have had thin hair for a long time. i recently have been shaving my head and i think that i look massively better than with the thin hair, i personally love the look

I am 39 years and have been shaving my head since 2000. Six years prior, at age 16, my hair line began retreating. I tried a few hair restoration products with no positive results. After reading a magazine article outlining tips and tricks for shaving your head I decided I had paid for my last hair cut. My experience was at first, rather negative; the perception that I had become a "skin head" being the worst. Although it didn't last long It was hurtful. I can mention some other things to expect: People do not look at your hair line anymore or lack thereof. This is the most convincing argument for shaving ones head. It is an instant admission to an exclusive club; similar to Jeep Wrangler or motorcycle riders. "Nice haircut" and "we go to the same barber" are common. Grooming and getting ready are much faster and easier. Ohio can be have extreme temps both ways; be ready to cover your head. Confidence is much improved. God only made a few perfect heads... the rest he covered with hair!!!
I'm 22, shaved my head yesterday night. I had thining hair, and I decided to take initiative and go bold gracefully.
People think I'm a neo nazi now
Something I've noticed since shaving my head is that people are more bold when talking to me.
What I'm saying is I encounter more assholes.
😂😂
I’m 27. With hair I look 19. Shaved head and goatee I look like I’m 35 in the best of ways. Been periodically shaving head since 19. Love many styles.
Interesting man!
I've been shaving my head for 1year now due to going thin on top from my early 20s, I'm 31 now and it looks so much better than thin hair on top. my wife and friends say I look younger, more masculine and sexier. so if your not sure to shave it off, do and I promise you won't regret it!
I agree and everybody around me including m'y wife say and feel the same So I feel happy and confident Now that I hot rid of m'y hair
I'm starting to get bald and decided to embrace it. And yes I'm loving it man. I feel so much better and it ain't that bad at all. I still look good.
I did it looooong ago and yup, works for me, though sometimes I let it grow back a lil'. The thing is when you started it, it makes you feel free and comfortable as well, so when you go bald you may never want to go back...
I shaved my head last night. It’s a much more practical approach. Saves time , money, increases power!
I have been growing a scalplock/Mohawk on the back of my head since Jan 1st..my hair is thinning and balding on top since I was 18 in 1983 but I kept growing my hair long because I just wanted long hair..in 2010 I went completely bald after watching several Yul Brynner movies and I admired how he was one of the first leading men of Hollywood to shave his head in the 50's..but I begain to want long hair again so I grew a scalplock two years ago, and then shaved it off after just one year because I grew tired of shaving around it..then less than a month later I decided to grow it back and that was this last January..and now on this day which is the date that Yul Brynner passed away in 85, I am wanting to shave it again..I'm 51 and am in the worst shape of my life even though a lot of people say I look healthy, but years of abuse from being bi-polar and sedating myself with alcohol has done some damage..I feel that if I shave my head today..get the alcohol out of my life and start working out I can get that liberated feeling that I need...I thin now is the time to go and cut this mane off the back of my head..thanks for your thoughts.
I felt free after beginning to shave my head, leaving the worry behind about trying to hold onto thinning hair that wasn’t coming back. My wife says she thinks it looks good as well!
I've shaved my head twice. This time I'm staying bald. I like the look and I like the feel. My wife hates it. I did it this time because my brother has terminal cancer and he's losing his hair to chemo and I did it in support of him. I also did it because I just plain like it. I use the Head Blade ATX and it does a really good job. It gets my head nice n' smooth and it feels good afterwards. Another reason I did it is because I like wearing dark colors and I had dandruff pretty bad. Now that I'm bald.....no more dandruff.
Been shaved bald for over 15 years & never going back to hair. Ive had different opinions from different women. Some didn't care for it, others loved it. So each thier own
im 53 years young , no problems with hair, just going through a divorce so its my i dont give f statement , I like it , Im keeping it
I shave my head and sport a current 5in full beard and love the look and feeling of it.
lol...some guys look better bald then with their own hair. Depends on the person amongst other variables.

I used to keep my hair long in a ponytail and I got somehow fed up with it. I was thinking going bald but was anxious about what people would say about it. Finally decided to go to the barbershop and ask him to do a full headshave. Once I saw myself in the mirror completely bald, I felt liberated and only got compliments about my new look and how being bald suit me well. Some of my coworkers are also bald and it create a sense of brotherhood and self respect between bald men. My only regret is not doing it earlier. Now it’s bald for life and I will never look back.
When I was 20 I joined the Army, when the barbers shaved my head at MEPS my hair didn't grow back on the top. To make things worse when I enlisted we still used the old BCG's (Birth Control Goggles) for glasses. I decided to own it and started shaving my head soon after. Now many years later, and with a full beard, my wife loves the look and very few people will give me grief over anything due to the sharp face, muscular body, and shaved head.
It's a look that requires some work with your body but I would never go back to having hair, it would be too unnatural and I enjoy looking like a man instead of a "pretty boy" with hair.
Started shaving my head at 23/24 years old due to balding. Blessed with a great beard maintained at a 4MM length. My confidence and income grew exponentially (definitely related). If you’re balding, shave it!!
I just went #1 all around for the first time in my life. I got sick of bad haircuts and decided to re-grow my hair from scratch. My hair grows extremely fast so I'll be alright. It'd be interesting to see how people treat me now. I'm getting a hat tomorrow as well because I don't want to get sunburns. I feel a little bit self-conscious but I guess that should pass pretty soon after I get confortable with it.
Going bald in my early 20’s was hard. Shaving it was easy and completely transformative. Going bald isn’t a choice but shaving it is so you regain that control.
Women definitely do not see you as attractive as when you had hair. The dominance you will display and feel is definitely an upside. Be confident my balding friends. Holding on to your thinning hair is a crutch.
Henry Mattson i am bald and many women and girls are attracted to me. When i still had hair they did not. Well maybe this is becouse now i do weight training and made a beard
I am a woman and I prefer shaved heads. But it’s more about how a man carries himself and treats others that attracts me most.
We all have to make sacrifices to our looks as we age, yet sometimes you can leverage a disadvantage into an advantage.
Shaving head for 8 years or more (lost count ;-)), love it. Next thing I did was growing mustache. Great FUN
been loosing my hair since 16 started using clippers at 20 and using a razor at 23. would i go back to hair, no. im 37 almost 38 and my fiance loves it. shes attracted to baldness like vin diesel, the. rock...i use a mach3 and just regular soap. no razor. bumps and no niks so its all good. i love being bald.
I’m glad I met u.. I really needed a male role model to help me out in style and ur the man!!
Now that was very enlightening, and come to think of it, I can see the evolutionary signal that baldness _might_ have been a useful thing in clans of ancient humans, letting other males know the status of each other or for attracting a mate. I shaved my hair off and never looked back, and I accept it totally as a part of my 'maleness' it signalled the start of a new stage in life,
shaved my head 15 years ago, women loved it

Shaving my head now 14 years. I use regular disposable razors; works just fine. Started when I was 22 just because it made sense
Cool study. I shaved my head a few years ago and haven't looked back. I love my shaved head, and I love shaving it. I've gotten quite a few complements, plus... nothing better than a woman rubbing your freshly shaved head.
Have clippered my head since my mid 20's (Early male pattern baldness) & shaved it since my 40's.
Highly recommend doing it properly with a shaving bowl, brush & a 5/8" or up, full hollow ground razor- this takes practice, but gives a fantastic shave.
Shaving my head today, its been receding for a few years now. 21 years old and I decided to one day just buzz my head, bad idea since my whole fathers side of the family hair recedes pretty bad, starts around 18 years and growth begins to halt around 25.
Yeah, so my head takes about a few months to grow a poofy afro looking thing, thick on the sides, thinner on top.
I’m 39 now. I’ve lost a lot of my hair right after graduation. I started trimming my hair down to 0 at age 18/19. So I felt comfortable having a stubble. Unfortunately in the past 4 years the remainder hair I had around my head, bald top started going pretty white on me. I was pretty bummed. Bald and now white at 39. Wasn’t doing any good for my confidence. A few days ago I made the decision to start shaving my head. I was super nervous. I’ve got to say I feel a lot more confident again and it actually feels refreshing shaving my head. It’s a great video and knowing this study.
Just get a hair system. Its cheap, and effective. Girls get to wear high heels, pushup/padded bras, breast surgery, makeup, fake eyelashes, fake eyebrows, fake nails, dye their hair, style their hair, hair extensions, wear weaves, get botox, lip injections, face lifts, and nose jobs. Nothing wrong with leveling the playing field back in our favor a little bit
How regularly do you shave your head to make sure there is no stubble! I am asking as I am in a similar situation and contemplating doing it. Hope you can answer my question!
When I knew it was no longer viable trying to save it, there was NO chance I'd even consider the "comb-over", so I grabbed the razor and took the challenge. It took about 6 months to adapt. I'm 5'11 with a slender build at 185. Been shaving head/face in the shower for 15 years; and the fact that I don't care what people think about it is why I'm respected. Short, tall, hair, no hair, built, skinny, etc... If you aren't comfortable in your own skin, it will be detected by many. I've seen it with other dudes. Never over-compensate, never under-estimate. You were born "YOU", and will die "YOU". Just do it!! Embrace it and get on with life and stop torturing yourself!! Peace to all you dudes!!
+Triple Seven Well said. The point of this article is what signal a shaved head perceive.
+Real Men Real Style Thanks for the reply. Mostly perceived as authoritative and dominant. Less likely to be approached because first impression by many is intimidation. In most cases I have to be the first to initiate any sort of dialogue. I would only want my hair again to simply change how I'm perceived. A hat does change the whole dynamic, though.
Thank you for saying that it took about 6 months to get used to the shaved head. I have had thinning hair for the last 20 years and I just shaved my head 4 days ago and some time I love it but some time I hate it. I will be patient and give it some more time to see if I adapt to it more.
Right before Xmas, I found out a friend was murdered. I shaved it out of mourning but I noticed that people treated me different. Basically all the attributes listed, I felt people perceived of me. This was very interesting! Thank you!
