Been waiting SO LONG to hear you do Kaleo (Kuh LAY oh). They're Icelandic and quite honestly can't go wrong with any song they do. I Can't Go On Without You in this set at the Current is quite good.

As someone who came up in the 60s I can sometimes be a little harsh on bands and artist of today but this band gets my seal of approval for whatever that's worth these guys have a lot of great songs

Kaleo "No Good" hooked me. You noted the blues feel of "Way Down..." here - I think No Good displays the blues character of the band best. Like Stapelton they echo the blues roots of rock and country. Your reviews are good work

I heard one of their songs on a vocal contests in Califorina, chased them down to you tube. Listened and listened and bought my first CD in years, because they are such a great band. Born in Iceland, with a Hawaiian name living in Texas.

Kaleo has some range as a group.
I suggest "No Good," if you want something more active and driving. Conversely, "Backbone," while not a 'radio' cut, is mournful, painful, and shaking to listen to.
They tend to do simple songs very well. While they are a fairly new group, they offer a wide range of great options to look in to.

Would highly recommend “Absynthe” and by the Gits. They are a really under rated band that never really got popular outside of the local scene due to having only released 1 full album before the passing of their lead singer Mia Zapata.

Love this song, but this is a stripped down version. The "official" version is grittier, more bluesy and and raw, and the instrumentals are way better. Nice use of the dobro. The song has been used in a number of movies and TV shows, which is where I first heard it.

I don't think of this song is of the human tendency to do the wrong things; I feel this song is about one who is about to accomplish something great in their lives never done before. It's going to cost ya. In order to achieve the prize, one has to reach deep inside your body's energy and soul that WILL BRING PAIN AND MISERY. Then there is the huge amount of time to accomplish what you want. Do I get what I deserve when I go WAY DOWN I GO. Kaleo screaming pain when he sings "Way Down We Go...go...go....... Because it is painful trying to achieve something great! Didn't you see my "feet run wild" like a little duck whose feet paddle like crazy following it's mother, but on top the duckling looks calm but stressed.

Love Kaleo. I see a lot of comments recommending on of their songs "Can;t go On Without You" - but it's a little slow, moody for me. You should try listening to Break My Baby by Kaleo if you want to hear another song of theirs with a similar vibe to this one.
This song was in a mens cologne commercial on tv many got exposed to it that way.
