I think the big reveal "outside" looks so beautiful. What I've seen from other tumbler makers is that they apply the foil randomly. You did a great job and the "save" was spot on.
I just tried foils for the first time i also was not in love with them. But you gave me a great idea to try with it. I will keep trying them and see how much i can improve with use of them.
I love that foil a great save!!! maybe throw those foils to your other channel and create something there? maybe on a canvas, box, journal cover, some other unique item? These foils are really beautiful.
Please keep trying! I know it's not what you originally envisioned but you made something so beautiful. That glitter looks amazing next to the aqua daisies and I just love the retro feel the peekaboo has given it.
I’m glad you kept pushing forward. I know you notice the flaws, but the end result is beautiful!! I bought some of the foil and had the very same issue with wrinkling and I hated it too. I tried to disguise them by adding glitter to the epoxy and it’s ok but why didn’t I think of doing a perk a boo?! So much better!! 💗 I’d really like to see you continue doing tutorials with the foils so I can perfect it too. I also bought several so I need more ideas of what to do with them. Oh, and just so you know, I used two coats of Tack It/water to apply the foil and it worked perfectly.
Thank you!! LOL, I ran into the 3rd fiasco with those foils in that video and let my frustration out on camera. Not my finest moment 😄😄 I am actually a Virgo, but am constantly down on myself for a lot of things. Yes! Keep trying! I just ordered foils too. I have watched lots of videos that do not apply the foil sheet like a full vinyl wrap but cover the entire cup by pressing sections in a random way. I think your cup is pretty, I love the way you placed the daisies.
I'm glad we all like different looks on our tumblers. This isn't one of my favorite but it is pretty. I've thought about trying these foils but I'll let you perfect them first. LOL Keep trying they really have appeal.
I love it!! From my experience and watching others, is cutting pieces and randomly placing the foil and using it to make things more vintage, patina never seen anyone try or go for a full coverage with foil. Love how you go for it and give your honest opinion ❤️
Thanks very much!! I've seen a couple full-cup videos with the foil, and it's possible that as a viewer I just couldn't see any imperfections in the foil results, especially since the person in the video didn't dwell on them or point them out specifically (that whole embracing it thing). 😊😊
That’s why I like to watch you, it’s not all perfect but you take the chances on fixing it. It gives the rest of us the opportunity to fix stuff on our own!! Thank you, if that makes sense??
Okay keep on trying..Very pretty pattern. I tried to tell you last time. Foils don't work that way. You're going to get creases Galore trying to do the whole cup at once. You have to do foils in sections. That's why with foils of variety of foils can go on the cup as long as they of course are cohesive. You don't need much adhesive at all. You simply press it on and rip it off (don't be scared to actually rip it off fast) get a smooth finish every time. Of course I just do my nails. Yes much smaller. But it's still the same concept. I have no doubt you'll get it down!!! The final cup very beautiful!😘 p.s. no foils aren't supposed to have wrinkles sweetie
What if you use tack it on say a third of the cup then size the foil and you could just lay it down without having to roll it around so no wrinkles idk. Then put glue on next section use same or different foils etc then you may have to put vinyl strips between foils to tidy up. 😁🤷♀️
Nice save! Love the cup! I watched another video where the maker actually crinkled her foil up before applying. She likes the crinkle effect, this may be a new avenue to travel down. Just a thought.. I’ve also seen them randomly place the foils in a distressed look. Turns out stunning.
Thank you!! I know! I’ve seen that and it just seems so wrong when the pristine foil is so beautiful. But I guess that would be the most sure-fire way to “embrace the wrinkles” 😳🤣
Found you on you tube & had to come leave a comment! Love how raw you were in this video & didn't cut out your mistakes! I loved it & it cracked me up & the cup came out absolutely perfect!

Ok, I busted up laughing at PIVOT... that's an inide joke for hubby and me! This really did turn out beautifully, and learning new material is all part of the process! One option for the foils may be to use vinyl as a stencil for applying the adhesive, that could help eliminate the chance for wrinkles? Like a faux or reverse peekaboo maybe? Happy new year, friend!!

I think the overall tumbler was a great save!! Maybe do sections at a time for more of a controlled situation?? Love how you are honest with your videos
I loved it! Imperfection happens to me all the time and sometimes that's what gives it character. I wouldn't stop trying yet. What if you did section by Section? Or laying it down with the wing side to a cricut mat or other sticky surface to hold it in place so it doesn't bunch up on you? Just a suggestion. As always, I love it. Don't quit trying please!
No kidding?! That’s a great idea!! I don’t know if I’d have the patience to pay close enough attention to the state of my resin to catch it at just the right tackiness. But that’s fantastic!
I love the end result. I agree wrinkles bother me as as well.. (especially the ones on my face) 🤣🤣🤣 I don't like foils either. Small area ok. Thanks 💙 😊
I really like it! I think it turned out really well! I don't understand why this would be easier/better than a vinyl wrap, but it turned out beautiful regardless, and I'll probably do something similar soon!
Thank you!! So far, it's definitely not easier (for me) than a vinyl wrap, but the foil look is completely different from most vinyls, and can be used in different ways -- this method of putting it on a tumbler is just one thing I've been trying to conquer. 🙄😁
I like how it came out, but I get where you are coming from. As the artist you have to like it yourself. Personally, I don't think it needs any decals as it does have a lot going on already. Something you might add to it is outlines and the middles of the flowers with either vinyl or with one of those metallic paint pens? That might draw the eye away from those few funky foil places that bother you. What you have right now has a little bit of a oriental silk pattern feel to it. The glitter, foil, along with the black looks really nice. 💖 Don't give up on the foils yet. You've got this!
Thank you very much!! Someone else said there was an oriental silk vibe to it, as well. I use these same transfer foils in a completely different way (and with a better result) this coming Friday afternoon over on my new channel: ruclips.net/channel/UCLiJL5D0eT3m0DVRaOkY4jw
Looking good! I tried the foils, first was an epic failure! I forgot to remove the transfer clear part off the tumbler, 😂. Epoxied and yikes! But now I see this one and now know what I can do with mine! Peek-a-boo! This cup looks great!
Thank you!! I shouldn’t get so discouraged (I mean, I still can’t do layered mica hatching the way I want to), but I was feeling pretty defeated for awhile by this one. We will persevere! 😊😊😊
I love it , I would have given up lol peekaboo was a great save and that glitter is perfect! I've not tried these types of folders(or ya know foils...) just leafing in small sections and don't think I will haha one more thing to frustrate me nah I'm probably good there 🤣 wondering if a piece of parchment or wax paper can be slipped in between and it burnished little bit by little bit? Don't quit I know you're not a quitter and will find a way that works!
Thank you!!! 😊 The thing is, this foil works so amazingly well in other situations/methods (my new channel vid this Friday aftn, just as an example), but in this tumbler and other larger-surface applications, it seems to really require embracing the wrinkles and flaws, and that's where my reluctance pops up. I'm not as much of a "distressed look" fan as I know some folks are. But since I still have LOTS of foils, I will definitely be making more attempts and trying different things.
I wonder if you wrinkled the foil then put it on the tumbler if that would give it an overall cool looking effect. Just a thought. I think I will give it a try.😊
I found out after I made this video that wrinkling it and embracing the shabby or distressed look is definitely a plus. The thing is I'm not particularly crazy about that look -- that's just a personal preference thing for me. But, yeah, go for it!
I can’t believe how you saved this cup. It’s really pretty. My question is why work with the foils if they cause such anxt and you make so many beautiful cups using other techniques?
Thank you!!! I get asked that question about Brusho crystals also, which can really vex me. And I guess it's the same answer -- I really want to figure it out LOL!
"Linda! Listen Linda"😏 You are too hard on yourself! Some of the spots you pointed out, I suspect are the result of using the brush. I would suggest, burnishing with a soft cloth. This cup came out beautifully. It gives me a mystery vibe. The foil looked like a sheer, embossed curtain, to me. And a geisha girls (dress) I can't think of the proper term. The peek-a-boo behind the black paint, with that gorgeous glitter..."chef's kiss". I sensed your struggle. But you pulled it off and made a cup of depth and beauty. 🙂💜
Thank you very much!! Not sure about the brush or the cloth or something else. Jenn from APS actually uses a stiff-bristle scrub brush and seems to scrub the bejeebers out of the foil like she’s trying to get out a particularly bad stain. But I’ll get there eventually - lol!! First I have to get healthy again… 🤒

Hi - thanks for your question (yes, there are a LOT of types of resin!). Here’s a direct link to my favorite go-to resin and the one I use in most of my videos: www.ksresin.com/collections/table-top-epoxy/products/liquid-stone-ultra-uv Hope this helps!
@@Luxinda Perfect. I purchased the combined kit. I hope I got the right one. 64 ounces. I also got the tip applicator and the silicone cups. I will do this outside in my tent because of the fumes. Is there anything else I need? The foil I just purchased along with the gallon size adhesive at the artistic studio and a bunch of their foils? Where should I get that spinner you place the tumbler on? Thanks
@@Linneydenise yes, you absolutely need both parts. The “hardener” is actually an activator when mixed with the resin. On their own, each part will just stay liquid. The activator is what causes the resin to set up and harden into a solid. I don’t remember if I ever did a video on the actual mixing of resin, so I’m putting a link here to another channel that has excellent beginner resin tumbler tutorial videos: ruclips.net/p/PLc2cC4vqxq1PoI_-MGva2peq-_2m5G5xp&si=CCZl_CneNYSob_ei
I say try random patterns (like the daisy one) but cut thr foil into vertical strips instead of trying to cover the whole cup at once, that stuff has no give to it unlike fabric or vinyl. You did a great job!
Even though the end product may not be what you envisioned, you made an absolutely beautiful cup. Can you apply the foil in strips instead of over the whole cup at once?
Wow! I have to respectfully disagree! I was a little iffy about it...UNTIL...I saw the reveal in the sun. All of a sudden it just came to life for me! I think it's beautiful! I'm a believer that we are all our own worst critics.
I have in the past. The first time it happened was also the first time I'd tried these foils on a tumbler, so I decided to spray seal it to avoid that with my second attempt. But the clear spray made the foil go all dingy. So at that point, I decided that fish-eyes didn't bother me as much, and I just add a second layer of resin if that happens. Interestingly, it did not happen with this cup. 🤷♀
So far, I’m definitely not in love with these foils on a tumbler the way I’d hoped to be. But I do love how this cup turned out 😊🤩

I am with you on foils but I did try the fast set apoxy and let almost dry at the tacky stage and then wrapped my foil and it worked.
No kidding?! That’s a great idea!! I don’t know if I’d have the patience to pay close enough attention to the state of my resin to catch it at just the right tackiness. But that’s fantastic!
The colors on the tumbler turned out beautiful. I would like to see you keep trying, maybe different techniques would work better for you.
Thank you!! 😊
I think you did a great job! Sometimes its ok for it not to be perfect!
Thank you!!! That seems to be how the foils work for me - imperfectly 😁
Beautiful! The foils sure do look amazing. I have not tried any yet though I do want to.
Thank you!! They take some getting used to, but the results can be awesome!!
It is frustrating when you want it to turn out. But I think it looks great. Nice job.
Thanks!! It was definitely a challenge - LOL!
I love the end result! We’re so much alike! I usually end up stripping it! But look what you have by not giving up!!😋
Thanks!!! I hate stripping cups - LOL!
I love the end result. I agree wrinkles bother me as as well.. (especially the ones on my face) 🤣🤣🤣 I don't like foils either. Small area ok. Thanks 💙 😊
Thank you!!! I hear you about all kinds of wrinkles! 😁
The dark light it’s great love it
Thank you!! 😊
@@Luxinda keep up the good work
I really like it!
@@Luxinda already subscribed and looking forward to checking it out. :)
@@PageCreations 🥳 thank you!!
YIPPIE! You saved the tumbler :) It looks beautiful!
Thank you!! 😁
@@Luxinda lordy you are going to make me have to buy some of them to try I can see it already 🤣
Keep trying practice makes 👌 perfect 👌
Thank you!!
It’s very pretty! I just bought some foils and am excited to try it!
Thank you!!! Have fun with the foils! 😊😊
It looks gorgeous on camera
Thank you!!
If it first you don’t succeed…… I think it looks awesome I would like to see you keep going.
Thank you!!! 😊😁
Sunshine you can’t see it’s beauty
I agree, and find that quite strange - usually the sunshine brings out so much more from tumblers, but not in this case 🤷♀️
@@Luxinda Oh no, did I miss something? Are you not feeling well?
@@sanditubia5061 I haven’t been talking about it much, but started feeling crappy New Year’s Eve day, so it’s been a lonnnng week already and it just started 🤒 🙄🤣

I think it turned out to be a happy accident. It's pretty!!

Good Morning ☀️ Pretty Lady & I just LUV the way this turned out👍🏻👍🏻😍I think your wonderful self should stick with it and experiment on a different way to apply the foils so you get that Fantabulous look you want 👍🏻✨😍from what I have seen the foils never give that “perfect” look it seems to always be a tad distressed Ms Cindy 🤔😵💫🤣😍thank you for the wonderful tutorial don’t be too hard on yourself your FANTABULOUS ✨👍🏻😍❣️
Thank you so much!!! Yes, the foils do seem determined to wrinkle no matter what. I'll definitely keep trying 😁😁
I think the cup is really pretty. I think you should keep trying to master the foil. Maybe put a little foil on at a time.
Thank you!! I’ll keep trying 😊
Looks great, nice save!
Thank you! Cheers!
You saved the day, looks great
Thank you!!
I love it. It's beautiful.
Thank you so much!!
I love this tumbler. I think it would be amazing with someone’s initials in teal on it. Please keep trying the foils. Maybe scrunch the whole sheet before you put it on so the wrinkles are intentional and you get that weathered look.
Thank you! I'll keep at it! I'm just not sure I'll ever fully be able to embrace the wrinkles - LOL!
May i ask what the glitter is? I have that foil coming already and that glitter is wow!
Thank you!! I should have mentioned it in the video! It’s called Caramel Apple by Fran’s Glitter and More:

Hi there, which epoxsy resin do you use? I want to use your code to purchase but after clicking link, so many choices I have NO idea which one to purchase. I also made purchase at artistic studio using your link. God Bless all your endeavors you are a wonderful cheerful giver. Thanks so much I get more information from you on how to do tumblers than anywhere else on youtube. I love your mistakes too. So inspirational on how to recover as a winner. Thanks Lady have a wonderful day
Hi - thanks for your question (yes, there are a LOT of types of resin!). Here’s a direct link to my favorite go-to resin and the one I use in most of my videos:
www.ksresin.com/collections/table-top-epoxy/products/liquid-stone-ultra-uv
Hope this helps!
Thanks
Where do I get instructions on how to use the eposxy? There's a kit that says "resin and hardner" Do I really need both? Thanks
@@Linneydenise
yes, you absolutely need both parts. The “hardener” is actually an activator when mixed with the resin. On their own, each part will just stay liquid. The activator is what causes the resin to set up and harden into a solid.
I don’t remember if I ever did a video on the actual mixing of resin, so I’m putting a link here to another channel that has excellent beginner resin tumbler tutorial videos:

Good luck!!!!
Oooh! I love this!
Thank you!!😊
I say try random patterns (like the daisy one) but cut thr foil into vertical strips instead of trying to cover the whole cup at once, that stuff has no give to it unlike fabric or vinyl. You did a great job!
Thank you very much!!
What a job! But it looks good after all that.
Yeah, this was waaaay harder than I expected because I really didn’t have much - if any - foil experience at this point. 🙄😁
Another great lookin tumbler
Thank you!!😊
Even though the end product may not be what you envisioned, you made an absolutely beautiful cup. Can you apply the foil in strips instead of over the whole cup at once?
Thank you!! Others have suggested that idea as well, and it would certainly be easier in some ways. Stay tuned 🤣🤣🤣
Wow! I have to respectfully disagree! I was a little iffy about it...UNTIL...I saw the reveal in the sun. All of a sudden it just came to life for me! I think it's beautiful! I'm a believer that we are all our own worst critics.
Thank you!! Oh, it’s absolutely true - I’m so quick to find flaws in everything I do/make. 🤪🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
Please do more foil videos.
Will do! There's one coming up this Friday afternoon, 1/7/22, on my other channel ruclips.net/channel/UCLiJL5D0eT3m0DVRaOkY4jw
Nice tumbler
Thank you!! It was a bit more of a struggle than anticipated, but that seems to be the relationship I have with foils 😬😁
Did you have a problem with the epoxy repelling the foil?
I have in the past. The first time it happened was also the first time I'd tried these foils on a tumbler, so I decided to spray seal it to avoid that with my second attempt. But the clear spray made the foil go all dingy. So at that point, I decided that fish-eyes didn't bother me as much, and I just add a second layer of resin if that happens. Interestingly, it did not happen with this cup. 🤷♀
so pretty!
Thank you!!
