    The E-flite® Decathlon RJG 1.2m is one of the most capable and best-handling models of the iconic aerobatic trainer ever! It’s a replica of the Decathlon that RJ Gritter (RJG) flies in airshows across the United States and sports a classic yet modernized red, white, and blue trim scheme. It also features a variety of scale details including functional LED landing and navigation lights, wheel pants, and wing struts. The one-piece wing is easy to install and remove thanks to hands-free connections and thumbscrews, and the struts snap into/out of place without the need for any fasteners or tools - though it’s already conveniently sized to be easy to store and transport without disassembly! Digital and metal-geared servos along with ball-link equipped linkages provide precise and reliable control for smooth sport to aggressive aerobatic flying. The 3S and 4S compatible power system features a 45-amp Spektrum™ Avian™ Smart Lite ESC, and the BNF® Basic version is equipped with an AR631 receiver to deliver real-time telemetry data along with AS3X® and optional-use SAFE® Select plus motor/thrust reversing. All these details and features combine to deliver a very convenient and extremely capable scale model that’s a great choice for low-time and intermediate to experienced pilots!
    More information about RJ Gritter (courtesy of www.rjgritter.com/about):
    “The son of a test pilot dad and a flight instructor mom, RJ has been in the cockpit his entire life. Growing up around the airport in Greensboro, North Carolina, he started flying before he was tall enough to see over the instrument panel! He soloed on his 16th birthday and got his private pilot license on his 17th.
    RJ developed a passion for aerobatics through radio-control (RC) flying. He started competing in RC aerobatics at age 16 in national and international events, representing the US in indoor precision and freestyle aerobatic championships. RC flying gave him a strong background for "full-scale" aerobatic flying.
    RJ earned his bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from North Carolina State University. After graduation, he moved to northern Virginia, just down the street from the Bealeton Flying Circus! He got his Decathlon at the end of 2015 and has since flown over 800 hours in the airplane, flying his first airshow in 2016. Since then, he's flown hundreds of performances and has loved every minute of it!”

    Ha ha! Have to have one! My first R/C Decathlon was a HH Parkzone and was only a 3ch (throttle, elevator, rudder), but I absolutely loved that little foamy! I would spend all afternoon in the park with 2 lipos on charge and one onboard. Always wish it had ailerons! Now this one does! Great job HH! Great job!

    Just imagine if same care and eye for detail would end up in the creation of HH scale airwolf. I bet it will 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍

    I was just saying to a buddy of mine at our flying club the other day that no one is doing a nice Decathlon in a 1.2-1.4m range... Well, this is not only gonna be added to my wishlist, it's gonna be shortlisted. Absolutely beautiful looking plane with awesome features and in a really nice, unique scheme. Love it!!
    Fantastic work from HH & E-flite. Bravo! 👏👏

      For this price point of a BNF $269 shipped to you door they can't do clear windows, don't think many would be willing to pay the extra $$$. Jeff in LA USA

      JeffinLowerAlabama is spot-on, and as we noted in response to another similar comment regarding clear/transparent windows:
      We agree, but in this case it would have added considerable weight, complexity, and cost resulting in a price over $300 and lower performance overall. These considerations are why some of our scale models don't have transparent windows (because many/most people prefer a lower price and better performance without them). That said, we do still plan to offer certain scale models with transparent windows in the future!

    Wish they would bring the wildcat back

    • @HorizonHobbyProducts
      @HorizonHobbyProducts  4 месяца назад +1

      We brought it back multiple times because we really liked it and it flew great, but unfortunately it sold less and less each time we did. Some subject matters, like the Wildcat, just aren't popular enough to sell well no matter how well they fly. More people prefer P-51s, P-47s, Corsairs and T-28s...which is why we continue to offer those subject matters in multiple sizes and versions. If you want the Wildcat, unfortunately it will likely never be coming back...but you should be able to find one on eBay, Facebook marketplace, at swap meets, etc.

      @@HorizonHobbyProducts I still have my UMX Wildcat and I love it to bits. Still one of my best all-time flyers and she moves out! She's still in great shape and I fly her regularly. My only regret is not having a second one.

    Wow! Appears to be another outstanding model being offered by you guys. But, really, how do you manage so many SKUs... the model itself plus the spare parts? Won't you be needing to drop some models from your lineup?

    Hey horizon! I have a great idea for a plane. Make a p-51 (doesn’t matter the scale) named “six shooter” the p-51 that is owned by chuck hall. We know his brother and I would love to see it. Thanks!
