The first (and so far only) time I've seen RJ fly, I was shooting pics from inside the box at Black Flag last year. After he finished his routine, he started "saying hi" to me and the other photographers with some VERY low passes. He's such an awesome dude! You can tell he flew 3d RC aerobatics. He really takes advantage of cross-controlling! He's my favorite decathlon guy on the circuit today!
I love how RJ Gritter flies that thing. There seems nothing he can't do. I also love how he has put some 3D radio control model maneuvers into his routine that other aerobatic pilots dont seem to have adopted
MXS & Extra 330 acts will show you what an airplane can do. RJ will show you what a pilot can do with an everyday airplane. Phenomenal pilot. All pilots will stop to watch Bill Stein, Manfred Radius, Matt Younkin and RJ Gritter. Unlimited acro planes are cool, but this is special. We need more of this @ OSH/SnF. RJ stops conversations…we all stop to watch.
RJ enjoyed the flight. I owned this plane back in the early '20s teaching Acro to new pilots. Most wanted the fly in the Sportsman category to start in aerobatic competition. I flew it with the 0320 150 hp. It was a little anemic but worked well for what I was doing. I flew a modified Pitts Special for several years and loved it a lot. Happy Landings My Friend.
I built a Super Decathlon in1/6 scale. She was a bit slow on the ailerons, but elevator and rudder were quite effective. Snaps and spins galore! And a straight take-off was an accomplishment.

Hello. Awesome plane. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Wow fantastic 👍👌
He performed two times in that day! The first was with Erik and now as solo!
Rj Is an amazing pilot, he was a member
Of RDRC back when I flew RC, there's a video of him landing a Rc plane with one wing somewhere on you tube.
👍 super vidéo 👍👏❤️ magnifique Decathlon 😍😍❤️
Não sabia que um avião de asa alta também é muito bom para acrobacias, gostei!!!
Me too, there is a Cessna 152 aerobat which does loops over me quite a lot
That's my first name
Most have no clue how good his thumbs are
First fly a Decathlon then fly Pitts Special. There's nothing like a lightweight Pitts.
