I was a full time ‘gypsy soul’ nomad working, playing and traveling.. living life large first in an Acura sedan then in a Toyota Highlander SUV I fondly call ‘Happy Haven’. I was on the road full time for over 3 years.. traveling extensively throughout the USA.. thus far 50,000 miles, 22 National Parks, countless monuments, capital buildings, libraries and small town USA. One of my favorite things to do in this nomad lifestyle is to drive long distances and explore scenic places as well as visit small towns.. I have worked in Washington, Utah and Montana while living in my car to save money to buy my tiny home. I’m back on the road now. Hi, Linda, so glad you found that wonderful spot for the Summer! I am a bit confused though, a month ago you said that you got an email that said they were going to pay you, after all, at Covenant Hills and it would come in the July 30th payroll. Did they not end up doing that? 😮

One morw comment....I am happy and content at my 3rd summer season of working at Adventureland in Altoona, Iowa! Next year, God willing, I will be 75 in March and enjoying my 4th season at Adventureland. One more season after that and I plan to be a true wandering NOMAD!!!

Hubby and I are volunteer camphost. I have been doing it for almost 6 years full-time. We love it.
Hi Linda, I’ve heard that it’s gorgeous in that area and especially in the Fall. I hope to visit there at some point. Weather has been a bit cooler down here in NE Georgia but the heat is returning, 98° for this coming Tuesday. Take care of yourself. Always enjoy seeing you here.

I have not been to Michigan except for the Detroit airport. My mother loved Mackinaw with her sister. My daughter and l volunteered for 18 months at a Native American school in New Mexico and we loved it

Thank you for another informative video. You look so happy and relaxed. I'm so glad Covenant Hills did right by you. Your current job, sounds like a dream. I loved cleaning houses when I was in college. It was so satisfying to see the difference and it was good exercise too. I had my first moch dockers at my homebase, last week andd I learned even the street in front of my house is too steep to level up anymore longer than 10'... the save was the pool closes at 9pm and they parked in the lot with a sign saying they were visiting my address. A car or minivan could have parked inside the garage, but it was a high top Ford Transit van. No one bothered them and they headed across Kansas the next morning. I think this video is old. I believe everyone needs 2 days off in a 7 day work week. Employers are all too willing to push the limits. We need to stand up and no one should be working beyond 5 days without a day off. Just my opinion. I'm really missing your tiny cottage videos. With the price of food/cost of living minimum wage needs to be at least 15 per hour.
This video is not “old” as far as my job goes. Please see the pinned comment. I am working 6 days a week by choice and really appreciate it. Seasonal jobs do not have the same stated laws as regular jobs.God bless you in your journey!❤️🙏😊

Sounds like it’s a very respectable company to work for. That last campground manager will have many unhappy workers. Unbelievable how they treated a hard worker like you. Things do happen for a reason. The new campground is a Very classy campground run by educated people.

One of our favorite vacation areas! So beautiful in the summer compared to home (south AL). When you want to splurge, go to Darrow's Restaurant for a piece of pie! (Their other food is good too.)

I’m on the opposite side, NW lower MI camp hosting. Been here since May and I’m taking a little vacay in Sept and will be back in October. October will be beautiful at Mill Creek.
Linda, if you work up north next year...buy Cutter's bug spray, benadryl anti itch cream, an ice pak for other bites. Spend the $4.00 and cross the bridge. You are denying yourself an amazing day trip and views. I am a Native Michigander and you are in some of our most beautiful sites. Look at those birch trees!
Never needed anything for bugs.. hmm.. I’ve heard otherwise.. as the driver and not a passenger I don’t feel like I’m denying myself anything though thanks for weighing in🤗🙏❤️
