The grunt bacon achievement is the last 5 point mission achievement I need, but it's REDICULUSLY HARD! The rest were piece of cake.
"But supergunner got him" WOW wish they were that much help taking out the scarabs in Halo 3. Nice job boys. lol
For those of you who are wondering why it is called 'Everything's better with bacon', it is because it quotes Martin O'Donnell from the Halo 3 Legendary Edition cutscene's developer commentary.
Gamerscore/Acheivements are a way of proving that you did something in a certain way or that you completed task(s)! And it ALL adds up!

Theres roughly 102-103 grunts on the map. During the second marine rescue, a few grunts were killed by the AI and two grunts were killed during the anti-Wraith bombing run. But I still got the skull with one grunt to spare. On easy.
This game is going to kick ass
I think like the ones beside the tanks when the air strike comes in don't get counted if the airstrike kills them.. That may be your problem cuzz their is only like 3 beside the tank.

yeah they add bonus points at the end of the game witch unlock other achieve ments i think..
tht happens because when the airstrick hits at the end it sometimes kills some grunts to so there are now no more 4 you to kill
just make sure there out of the way of the airstrick and you will be fine =)
Last area with 2 groups left sitting there thinking "Oh great, yet ANOTHER failed attempt" but I decided to ram them anyway I mean who knows...and finally got the achievement! For the first lvl this is by far one of the harder ones.

Killing the 100 grunts take a long time to do, cause some times you don't get all of them and you have to do the whole mission again.
Actually Sergeant Forge is on the back you can see him on the back on Mission 2.
I dont know what difficulty he is on but you can do it on any difficuty
Bacon is flat and that is what happens to grunts after getting run over so that is why the achievement is called Everything's Better with Bacon. Also use the turret ones not the Gauss
It's funny because the guy on the gun is actually Forge
It's called "Everything's Better With Bacon" because you kill 'em with a Warthog... which is a species of wild pig. Pig? Bacon? Silly Geoff.
The best way to get the bacon achivement and the skull is to play on Heroic. I tried this numerous times on Normal and Legendary and never got it. First time I played on Heroic, I got it.
I know, it's messed up. You could just get them imported from the US though, right?
this achievement is way harder than it should be
No, Halo wars was released in Europe on the 27th of Feb.
This level/achievement gave me a hell of a time, I tried it several times and still could not get the achievement, say what you want... Anyways, I changed the difficultly level to Legendary and then got it on the 1st try, try it for yourself. The only difference is this, at the gate, where you use one squad of grenaders to kill the power source, you have to use 3 squads, the single squads will die.. Good Luck, hope this helps.....
how is he shooting some grunts with the gauss and still getting it counted as being kiled by the ram ability
I don't how but I'm pretty sure I rammed 50 grunts with a warthog but I didn't get the achivement. Does it have to be captain forge?
wow i'm glad you've said this because i've been using the other warthogs instead because their gunner dude is weak to kill more grunts... XD Appreciate it :)
Try on Heroic there was extra grunts for me and its still a very easy mission
Actually for this achievement i would have to say Ram = Flattening to a nice golden crisp.

What difficulty should you play on?
HAHA you can get through the shield door via a glitch in the game i have found and im sure many others have too. You need to select only the warthogs and click on the other side of the door. the trick is to not have the shield door on ur monitor at all.... the game gets confused and the warthogs push themselves through the door. doesnt work everytime but keep trying it does work. remember this will not work if u can see the shield door on the monitor.
Can you still get the achievements if you have skulls on?

hey guys, i did the level again, and i have killed 100 grunts, and i dont know but the most of that was "ranmed" but i didnt get the achievement, but i have get the skull, wich is the mode you are playing, in heroic or legendary?
thumbs up if you got to 49 and the mission ended
i played this on legendary 2 times and im still one grunt short. and i looked everywhere on the map atleast twice...

I did it on easy. Use only Forges warthog, leave everyone else behind. Only use the marines when you need to blow up the shield, then use Forge to kick the little pigs.
Which is basicly what the guy did in the video.

BTW at around 2:11 you said "gun" but it is a cannon, a GAUSS Cannon to be exact.
Due to there Red VS Blue series, Bungie/MGS gives Roosterteeth usually gets the newest stuff from the Halo universe before its out (i.e. Mythic Map Pack)
I don't get this... I killed 100 grunts easily on the demo but now that I need to do this for a skull I can't find enough =/
first all warth hogs have that ability you should use the Y attack not only with forge i go the achievement even harder way i put extra life to the enemies so my warthogs wont kill the grunts i would just ram them with normal warthogs and keep sgt forge alive for the end is a little harder because it can glitch and u might have to kill the wraiths it happened to me this is just a suggestion by me u dont have to follow it skull name: Rebel Sympathizer See Ya in Halo Wars guys!!!
Not sure if it helps, I did this on Heroic, and tried to use mostly Forge. You will have one heal, that I had to use like halfway thru this. Basically, the difference between 98 and 100 grunts is when you blow up that generator, let those marines die, and then...wait...lok for the biggest gathering of grunts by the wraiths and head in with Forge, and sit there and take the abuse and target as many grunts as u can before that Air Strike comes in...then hopefully you'll be around 93, kill rest
can someone help me? when i try to do this i come up short of 10-20 grunts.

He was talking about Sgt. Forge wasn't Master Chief. He is also saying that the comment was made a year or so after the game came out. I don't know what happened before that.

HALO WAS GOING TO BE AN RTS BUT MICRSOFT BOUGHT BUNGIE AND THEN BUNGIE MADE IT AN FPS INSTEAD.youtube halo rts and ull find a video from 1999 of halo as an rts and then a third person shooter. When microsfort bought bungie then bungie made it for the xbox and pc and mac as an fps.
Also please send me a link were halo on the computer . the orginal Halo for the computer is still alive and kicking but i dont recall seeing it fail. the original Halo was an RTS until Microsoft bought bungie so Bungie changed it to and FPS. Get your facts correct before you post that.

ok, well if you even looked inside the packet that came with the video, it says he was promoted 5 times and demoted thrice, oh and thanks for ruining that part for me. you could have just said "on the capsule thing towards the end" but no.
the reason forge is a sargent is cause he desoveid orders to save his squad and cause he punched a superior oficer defending his daughter =P
HINT:
You dont have to use sergeant forge to do the ram ability, all warthogs can do the ram ability.
Sergeant Forge has a gauss cannon so he doesnt kill them as fast, reason why he did it with only forge
I think the gunner IS Forge. That would kinda make sense cause why would a SGT. be driving an infantry around??it should be the other way around.
and the ram ability is on all warthogs not just forge

Try using the normal Warthog, it got no 1 shot kill gauss and no grenadier... I guess it should be easier (Oh, and maybe the skull that makes enemies last longer will also help)
Would it make more sense to smash grunts with a regular warthog? Because Forge's gauss seems a lot stronger than the regular warthog's chaingun and when running from them you'd kill less.
I do have the game... I'm just saying that I got the optional 100 grunt kills on the demo with ease. But now that I have the game and am actually trying to get the 100 kills I can't =/
Dude, I had 1 grunt left to finish the level but it glitched, I hit it and it flew up but didn't die. So all the Marines and 'Hogs were shooting at the screen... >.>

this achievement was a bitch to get umm but i need some one to help me beat it on legendary starting with mission:4 cause i beat the other 3 missions some one good to.
i know they got the mythic maps, but im not too sure about Halowars. i think there just playing the Halowars Demo via xbl marketplace. of course i could always be wrong.

It's the retarded carpet bombs that take out like 6 grunts (that don't freaking add to your kills!!!!) Got to be careful or you'll only get 95-98 grunts....
this may be a stupit question but i am getting an xbox 360 in 47 days (lol yeah i'm counting the days till my birthday xD) what do you use gamescore for? :/
just keep on doing like this dude did, because ur problem will be that the airstrike will kill a couple of grunts so u'll dont make the 100...wich sux ofcourse

u have to work really quickly because sometimes the soldiers kill them before youve recruited them back to your team so then the grunts dont count as your kills
