- This watercolor tutorial will teach you how to paint simple happy people in procreate. This kind of portrait format is flexible because you can customize the faces or the animal and create a personalized illustration.

The watercolor effect is mostly coming from a watercolor paper texture and some watercolor brushes. These are both included in this kit:

This kit has 3 textures and I am using the 'cold press'' one.

I neverthought I would be able to draw characters, but after these last two videos I have self confidence and satisfaction with the new skill. On to the next character video.

Thank you so much! My theory about people is that as perfectionists, we struggled to paint one person well enough to sort of overcome our own insecurity. a good solution to that is to get used to painting very simple people, and paint a lot of them. I'm really noticing myself getting more comfortable painting faces now, especially after the video from two weeks ago 🤣

That was so much fun! Not only did I end up with the cutest portrait and yes, I’m totally inspired to make these for friends. But also, this was a really great way to learn how to use your brushes and do an illustration style that got me out of my headfrom my usual paint on paperwork on it for weeks portraits. Thanks!

I'm so glad to hear that, thank you so much! I really try to follow a consistent theory with my videos. There's no perfect solution to this, but I think there must be a sort of systematic way to approach any illustration project. I think you could easily adapt this project so that you're holding two kitties 😱 maybe you have each hand up and flat, and one cat is sitting on each hand, and they're looking at each other 😂

These are the rough an dreamy brushes, they work well with the Amazing watercolor kit, they are just rougher (separate kit). lately i'm really inspired by this kinda primitive illustration style. the etsy store just supports the channel - but I can always gift you any brushes since you already supported me so much 😱❤
It's a pleasure to be able to help you, although having too many options to paint would be overwhelming, I wouldn't say no to having new brushes (it would be like an early Christmas present 😅)
Why did you bring out a new watercolor brush set?
the original kit has been out for almost 4 years, I feel limited sometimes because it's very clean/perfect. Lately, I'm more interested in painting in a rougher/looser style. Procreate added some new features to help make this possible, so I decided to make a rougher version of the watercolor kit
