I don't sew as I don't have the patience for it. I do love to watch as I love your style! Classy and sassy! Your passion for your craft shows! Stay safe and healthy out there! Thank you for sharing a part of your day with us!
You can do it give your self a chance. I dont sew but im gonna try its so relaxing but im after thw point you an make your own clothes even gifts. Everyone😮 loves throw pillows. I can't wait to start She gives me inspiration
Thank you for your carefully curated content! Lol! Your whole vibe is so refreshing, SewRena. Watching your channel is so relaxing and always evokes pleasant memories for me... I wish we could transport our world back to gentler times. I love all your beautiful sewing makes, patiently awaiting a house tour and I'm here for the Long haul.
I love watching you it reminds me of sewing with my mom. A lost skill in sew many ways. I have all sons, so I can't pass it on. They aren't interested and I want them to follow their interests.
So so sweet. Love the hostess. I’d be delighted to attend any party she hosted 😊 looking forward to trying this out on some of my skirts that need a little extra. Love your content. Thanks for sharing your creativity with us!
I begged my mom for a poodle circle spirit. I was so proud of it. It was aqua with two poodles on leashes. I named the dogs Hester and Esther I was about 5-7th grade back in the 60’s.
Lovely video and I love your skirt! Several years ago I made a tiny circle skirt for my niece who was in first grade for "50's day",I made it in her school colors with their mascot on it and it was a hit with everyone there. I might have to make a circle skirt for myself now after seeing this lol.
That is so much work !!! I have done this type of felt work, not on clothing. But it's time consuming and u must b precise sewing !!!! U make it look easy !!! ( and i know firsthand its not !!! Lol !!!!). Once again , u r so (sew) talented lol !!!!
I love your look, super cute Miss 1950. When my BFF and i were in high school we had to do a project for Home Economics and we made a cheese beer fondue. It was amazing!
Omgosh, your graceful movements and calming background noise of crafting in the background are so relaxing. You would make an amazing ASMR channel with a retro theme!
Omg thank you so much! You have no idea how much I want to create sewing machine Asmr. I just don’t have the proper set up or mic right now. I film On my phone, but one day I’ll make some. I love the sound of my machine and I know my kids used to fall asleep to it.
I've seen so many fondue pots in thrifts stores. More than likely they are not from your era. This project is so cute, and it also enforces the fact that I am not crafty. Thanks for such a fun video.
I see them a lot in antique stores but they are kinda expensive for incomplete sets. Thank you so much for watching and I think you get better at crafting the more you do it like a muscle. 💪🏾
the skirt looks beautiful! I recently have tried adding a applique to a drawstring bag that's a half circle when open and a gartered circle when closed. tried to do a jack o lantern face and it's not bad, but the face looked different when it's round from when I stitched it down. So adding a applique to a circular object is def not easy and you did a great job!
OMG this is absolutely ADORABLE!! I got into quilting during the pandemic and always loved 50s kitch. If you haven't had chance check out fabric by Alexander Henry lots of 50s kitch, also working with ModMeow for a mid century quilt for my niece and nephew!!!
I inherited most of my mom's sewing stuff. I am the only sewist in the family. Among some boxes I found an applique skirt. It is vintage and my clever, thrifty mother made it from a neutral color and removable appliques. There are a bunch of them. It is awesome
Hi SewRena. I have been looking at all of your thumbnails and it was fun to see your projects. My mother was married in 1950, so seeing this brought me into her world as a young married woman. I'm finding it difficult to find a good variety of fabric these days as I too, sew.
Oh that is so cute! I would totally buy a kit like that to make my own. I recently bought a vintage skirt kit to make the skirt from ‘Back to the Future’ ( yes, Im a nerd.) The one Lorraine is wearing with Babs when she picks up her pink prom dress. I cant wait to make it!
Omg that’s so cool! I thought about doing a giveaway of the appliqués already cut but then I thought I should probably wait to do something like that when I’m Not so busy 😂 your skirt sounds amazing
Love love love it. I made a poodle skirt for my granddaughter when she was little for her girl scout 1950s party. It turned out so cute. Used pink felt with a black and silver poodle. She wore a cute little black sweater, a black patten leather belt, and a cute little black scarf tied around her neck.
@@SewRena it was, thank you. Something special just for her. She is my only grandchild. I love watching you sew. My mom taught me. She actually made custom draperies. She was an amazing seamstress. You are as well. You make me smile.
Oh my goodness! That skirt is so stinking’ cute! It reminds me so of my mama’s entertaining when I was young! Thank you for that lovely memory, and your skirt is charming!
It’s very cute!!! I quilt and I’m learning garment sewing. One thing I have that I’ve used as a layout space for quilting is a piece of foam board covered in cotton batting. It holds things well so you can lay your pieces out on a larger scale than a piece of felt.
Oh man that’s perfect! I actually have batting 😂 I didn’t think to use it. I’ve actually been working on some quilting that should be in the next craft video. I must say I’m starting to love quilting I see why people like it.
I wore cut out appliques on my dresses as a child....the most common themes were poodles, bunnies with carrots.... basket of tropical fruit ....horn of plenty...the dresses were mostly gingham fabric. For skirts, they were circular and of a light weight fabric so that they sat closer to the body. Beautiful video. Thanks
Thank you so much! I actually like seeing the zigzag on the edges it gives that old school appliqué look. However I’ve used heat n bond on my appliqués in the past to adhere them without sewing. That’s another no sew method that I forgot to mention.

Girl you are so talented!!!! Love your skirt, the appliques and the color.
💕❤️❤️ thank you so much
Your fondue party skirt is the most adorable skirt I’ve ever seen! ❤
I love your designs, you are a joy to watch. I grew up during the sixties and I miss the lady like dress, manners and design of that bygone era.
I love watching you it reminds me of sewing with my mom. A lost skill in sew many ways. I have all sons, so I can't pass it on. They aren't interested and I want them to follow their interests.

I like your energy. You're so talented and beautiful 🩶🙌
The sequins really pull it together (so to say). Really cute skirt and thanks for explaining so well!
Such a cute idea! If I ever host a themed party, I might have to make one for myself :)
Those earrings, Serena!

Omg that’s so cute 😍😍! I’ve never actually made one with a poodle. Maybe I should make one with my German Shepherd.
@@SewRena oh and it was quilted fabric.
This is the cutest novelty skirt I have EVER seen!🥰
Your appliques are gorgeous! This is so cute, and such a great idea!

I've seen these before! In books, pillows and on clothes. Especially in older movies, this is fantastic. Thank you. Super cute.

Very cute!
This is amazing! Our family tradition is to have fondue every every Christmas Eve as a family. You are sew creative! ❤

Wow another beautiful and well executed/created outfit. Love the fondue theme. That used to be a big social thing.
This was so cute!! And your earrings are adorable! They look like vintage Pyrex or corningware dishes🤩😍
Thank you! they are vintage Pyrex mixing bowls! The crazy daisy pattern
Beautiful ❤️🥰
it turned out so cute! Love the idea of a general party theme so that you can wear it outside of holidays too!
Thanks. I think if you put a lot of work into something you should be able to wear it more.

Adding the bling makes it pop. ❤❤❤
Love it!! Lots of good memories of fondue parties with my family on special occasions like New Year’s Eve:) wishing you luck on your fondue pot hunt!
Awww that’s those sound like beautiful memories
This is beautiful, and the ricrac and fondue pot are the perfect flourishes to set off your adorable characters. Nicely done!
These videos are so inspiring thank you for sharing! AND being sweet enough to post it before holiday season starts, that’s thoughtful!
The perfect hostess felt skirt! It came out so cute! 🤩💗💗

The size for the rick-rack is jumbo, the really love this piece.
Thanks I think it’s Jumbo depending on the brand I just ordered some jumbo rickrack from wrights and it was hardly medium 😩 I was so disappointed.
That is too cute!!!
So darling! Love the appliques.

I love quilting because it’s a puzzle. I also am a puzzle lover. It works well as a design wall for non felt fabrics.
So clever and absolutely darling! We’ll done!
I love the finished skirt.
