    The hour meter over estimation is a huge issue they need to correct if that’s the case. When selling these used, people will be paying close attention to the amount of hours on them, and if it’s not accurate that is not good at all.

    Like your straightforward approach - I'm a trail rider. can't imagine taking that bike out on a long ride and worrying about battery charge.
    Even at the track, seems like you would want a couple batteries.

    yeah I'm debating Should I get a new Yamaha 450 or a varg, but my main worry is parts / labor/ reliability availability. I know electric is better (from what I've heard) but is it better to wait for a newer model / wait for them to iron out all the faults with the bike given that it's a brand new segment , you know they're going to get better. The question I'm asking myself is, should I wait..
    A lot of people have problems popping the tires. Also, a few people have issues with the seat, and as you stated, + stand, phone ,not to mention the charge port that not too many people have. But also my main concern is reliability we don't really know how long the batteries will last and if something happens to the electric motor how can it be fixed and how expensive will that be. Get my drift?
    On the contrary a Honda 450 for example is a good solid bike but there's also a lot of moving parts that can go wrong but at the same time a lot of people can fix them at a reasonable cost + a ocean of Parts everywhere And we know those bikes can last for ages since the varg is brand new we don't know how long /how many years it can still perform at the same rate as out of the box / battery life. Also wondering if the batteries can be replaced and at what cost..
    Sorry for the long reply. I'm just trying to figure this out as it does cost a lot of money. I respect your opinions and videos..
    Maybe a good segment for your next video? LOL, I appreciate you, man! Keep up the good work!

    Thank you for the feedback dude. I decided to not get this bike after months of research & watching videos & ended up going with a 2024 250sx . I'll wait another 5 years until they perfect the technology and move away from lithium ion & maybe introduce solid state batteries into bikes. The weight needs to be shaved down as well as the other stuff you mentioned. A speaker that emulates a gas sound would be nice too 🤣 but we'll see where these bikes are in a few years.

    Hill in his video had the stark on an open fast track at 50hp and the bike only lasted to 20 minutes.. just like RC cars they get hot and shut down to a very low percentage. That’s what I predicted when they were talking about these. I have RC buggy’s and have friends that race them. Motors shut down, batteries have to cool down before charging and the more they get charged the less they start holding. Plus an extra battery will cost a lot.

    • @tylerlusk5194
      @tylerlusk5194 8 месяцев назад

      It was 55hp and you are talking about one of the fastest guys around to toss a leg over a bike. He also rode it for 1 hour and 15 min at 80 hp at his house. Hill could also probably take a completely factory bike to that same track and make it show some problems. Unless you plan on riding like him I don’t see the issue.

    • @mxr248
      @mxr248 8 месяцев назад

      @@tylerlusk5194 sorry but the point is 50 or 55hp isn’t shit! And he wasn’t beating the crap out of it. Also the fact the track was hard packed. If you ever rode or raced a deep till by a lily you would understand the power it robs from the bike. So imagine the electric bike in that wouldn’t last long at all.

    • @rickywoods3101
      @rickywoods3101 2 месяца назад

      @@mxr248I'm big into rc racing and haven't ever had this issue and what kind of racer has to wait for a battery to cool down?? I have never been racing where everyone didn't have multiple batteries. I also have e-bikes and have put a 3 thousands miles on it and the total capacity and health has only dropped 1 percent. You must be using cheaper motors escs and batteries in your rc stuff. Even my 14s 700 3d heli batteries only get a warm after putting it through hell . Lol but if I thought cheaper batteries in it they will overheat because of lower discharge rate..

    • @mxr248
      @mxr248 2 месяца назад

      @@rickywoods3101 well I go with what the shop says and all the guys that have been racing these RC cars. Those batteries do not last years nor do car batteries that are not running the engine. Plus do you have any idea what a stark battery cost? Also battery powered vehicles have you prices their batteries? They cost more than a motor! Plus the fact they can’t go hardly anywhere in the cold.. so I don’t see the point paying $13,000 for a electric motocross bike ride for a bit then sit for a long time and wait for a battery to charge. Cause to buy a spare is going to cost you thousands. Now figure thousand in gas will go further and less waiting time. 🙄

    I guess time will tell but have we seen anything yet from Stark Futures on an estimated cost of ownership after say - 3 years? Do we know what the life expectancy is for the battery or other electrical components - looks like the warranty is 2 years? The Stark Varg website lists a replacement battery cost of nearly $7,000. Other electrical parts are pretty expensive as well - the inverter is $1,500. So if I buy a new Stark Varg at $14,000 and within 3 years need to replace the battery the cost of ownership is $21,000 (not including any other parts replacements). That’s nearly 2 gas bikes. Trying to sell this to my wife (who is an accountant) 😁
