This is so cool that was my family and I having a party in the video when you were on Mill Street we were celebrating my mother in law's 1st birthday in Heaven
I am originally from LC and grew up in Gossport. I still have family members that live there. Thank you for showing the diversity of the neighborhood and homes. So many of the LC hood videos only show the abandon homes and the ones destroyed by the hurricanes. Many of those homes were owned by elderly residents that did not receive enough money from their insurance to rebuild. Others were rental properties that the owners took the insurance payment and didn't repair or rebuild. What I have noticed that for what is considered a "hood" there aren't usually large groups of people hanging out playing loud music and harassing people. There are many areas in north Lake Charles with people who take pride in there home, nice houses, clean yards. I have great memories of growing up there. Going to Shattuck St park, getting candy at Triplets grocery, Boudin at Peggy's (back in the 90's. Not the same now), vegetables at the family owned stand off of Moeling St., Lynn's Seafood and of course Ball's. Many of those people that made North Lake Charles special back when I was growing up are still there. Thank you for showing some of the nice neighborhoods and not presenting this area as a horrible place.
Thank you and I appreciate you for checking out my channel; I try to show different areas besides the bad area’s when I do my videos even though in the beginning that was my focus. That’s why I try and talk to my subscribers when I make videos and connect with them and let em know that I don’t look down on them and where they are from, since I grew up in the exact same areas except in a different state.
Thank you! Lake Charles so called hoods are like ice cream factories compared to real inner city hoods. Very little trash and debris and people just hanging on the streets. The rough stuff you see are abandoned and damaged homes and buildings caused by hurricanes.
You drove by my moms street > Moss St..!! She lives downtown..!! She has a very Old Historic home..you actually drove by 3 peoples that i know homes. ..we call Lake Charles The Chuck... haha!! we have a festival called Chuck Fest..lmao! ..its weird how we like watching videos of where we live...
I was wondering: what do they call those foundations that some of the houses have, where they’re setting on pillars of bricks? Here in California, we have raised foundations on some homes. Also, are these foundations meant to keep the house safe from flood damage? Terrific ride through! 👍
Thanks for checking out the video! I know here in Texas especially in the country you see older houses sitting on pillars. I don’t think it was meant to protect from flooding but I think it was to have easier access to the plumbing system but I could be wrong.
You cut some corners but you didn't go through half of the hoods you didn't go through Gosport 1,2,3 projects you missed Peggy's trap store and all down Shattuck street and the overpass
Cool hopefully working there I'm for Oklahoma City, but live in Dallas got a gig outthere working on some Aircrafts. With the Southern hospitality, Casinos, restaurants and Black population it should be good huh? This looks cool a hour from Beaumont 2hrs. from my relatives in BR pretty cool.
I like going to steamboat bills, I always go to the one off of MLK hwy. i went the day I made this video and it was still open and that wasn’t too long ago.
Be careful out here in lake Charles these hoods dangerous... Johnson hall,fisherville,Gossport,st.marydrive,1st,2nd,and3rd projects, brick st, Brownsville, car shop.....mill St is just part of fisherville
Ive lived in Lake Charles all my life. Lived off highway 14 on 9th Ave for several years. Went to Rosteet elementary, Rosteet junior high, and Lake Charles high. I don't think the hood is all that dangerous. I move all round those Neighborhoods and I was a Lyft driver for 2 years And anyone and everyone I picked up or dropped off in Gossport are all good people and very polite young people also.
