Maggette the Machete. One of my favorite players of all-time. He, Brand and Cassell formed a nice trio on that surprisingly good 2006 Clippers squad. Even when Maggette went to Golden State, he lit it up. Probably one of the strongest small forwards for his size that I have ever seen. The Machete had some pipes.
Finally got the Corey Maggette video, been asking for this one for a while, Corey was a specimen, was built strong, SUPER ATHLETIC being a 20 point scorer in the NBA isn't easy! Can we get that Joe Johnson(20,000 points quietly) Maurice Mo Cheeks and Andrew Toney videos!
Corey Maggette was a star in his own right; however, he spent majority of his NBA career with the Clippers. He was a consistent scorer, his athleticism and a dunking machine made him the player that he was.🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀
I was born in Seattle in 1973, where I grew up. Sonics and Blazers fan. Japanese-American and male. From my birth year, you can see where the Sonics and Blazers were, at different times in my life. I remember how Sonics fans were SO angry when we traded Corey Maggette for a 34-year old Horace Grant. BEFORE the draft, it was reported that he couldn't hit 15 foot jump shots, even shooting them short. We'll never know how he would have turned out in Seattle, but I think he could have been pretty good. He became a decent 3-point shooter later in his career.
I had his Orlando jersey from his rookie year. I remember when he came to the Norfolk Scope to play in the McDonald’s all American game. The hometown star Ronald Curry got most of the hype, but Maggette was nice. Class of 1998 represent!!
Maggette was a beast at Duke. I grew up watching Will Avery when he played with Ricky Moore from UConn in Augusta,GA. Legendary backcourt that deserves a story in itself

I remember his first year at GSW, really thought he was going to be a star there, he had the physique and size. They would move him at different positions too because they couldn't figure out what playstyle suits him, he would go shooting guard one game then at power forward in another.
Rip Hamilton as a huge underdog beat that Duke team that was being called the greatest college team ever That team had Magette, Elton Brand, William Avery and Trajan Langdon all NBA players. In 2004 as a huge underdog, Rip Hamilton was the leading regular season and playoff scorer on a Detroit team that beat Shaq, Kobe, Karl Malone and Phil Jackson for the NBA title. Rip Hamilton broke Isiah Thomas' career playoff scoring mark in Pistons history. That guy should be in the Naismith HOF.
after watching Maggette play 1 game in the NCAA Tournament, I wanted the Bulls to trade down in the draft and take Maggette; they drafted Elton Brand #1... I would rather have Maggette and 1 or 2 more 1st round picks in future drafts... fax!!!
I didn't realize that he became an excellent free-throw shooter! There were reports that, before the draft, when the Sonics brought him in for workouts, he not only misfired on 15 footers, but shot them SHORT. I believe that, being a 20 ppg scorer as he hit his prime, he should have made at least ONE All-Star team.
People forget about Corey's free throws but often remember Embiid and Harden as free throw merchants. Corey should have flopped more when he was drawing charges so that people would have remembered him, a legit 20 pt scorer.
He was nice with the clippers It just sucks that he stayed on that team for too long he should have went to a contender I hope they retire his jersey as a token of appreciation for holding that team down when there wasn't any stars on that team
Great concept for a channel. Just take a good player from back in the day and do a dive into their career. You can do these for as long as you want to.. shoot Alvin Harper he was good you could do him. Jameer Nelson..
Corey Spaghetti was one of the most jacked players ever too. The Suns were wavering whether to take him or Shawn Marion and I think they made the right choice. Maggette was decent but never got over the hump
