I just started flight school, I’m being hit with an overwhelming amount of info 😅. this was sooooo helpful, thanks for breaking it down the way you do. Looking forward to watching the rest of your videos
thats why I'm trying take up as much simulation and youtube type training ahead of even enrolling in ANY flight school lol! I wanna hit the ground running,, so to speak lol
@@AeroNerd So cool that you’re back! I take my checkride on 5/28. You’re video have been super helpful!!!!! I forwarded your link to my CFI. He liked how simple you explain things.
Thank you for the video recommendation... I have not found that channel yet. Again, I enjoy your videos and am going through your instrument training playlist.
Great video! However, the altimeter is the only instrument that contains a sealed aneroid wafer with 29.92 ISA pressure. The VSI and ASI contain a diaphragm that receives static pressure from the ambient atmosphere.
I am pretty familiar with these systems, but I still picked up a couple of tidbits: standard day pressure sealed into the altimeter aneroid, and the orientation of the turn indicator gyro. Cool...learn at least one new thing every day.
Everything is true except the ASI and VSI have a diaphragm not anneroid wafers. I busted my oral bc I drew this out like the video and said wafers and it was wrong
Off-topic rant. I do not like the term "Steam Gauges". Seems like a pejorative term contrived by glass cockpit manufacturers to convey the idea of old-fashioned. "Analog Gauges" makes more sense. It just feels like the aviation community was manipulated by marketing teams. Not a big deal... just sits poorly.
Best so far, way better than ground school books
Fantastic video, I have a prog check coming up and this really helped me to visualize how all the systems worked.
I have my PPL oral test tomorrow & this is helping SO MUCH. Sucks this channel has become inactive.
Great content
gotta be on com now?
Crazy how you make it simple
Comm test tomorrow. Thank you for the refresher. You are great at teaching !!
Thanks for the comment!
Thank you helped me a great deal. I finally got it.
@@dwighttaylor5107 I’m glad it helped!

The airspeed indicator is connected to a diaphragm, the only instrument that is connected to aneroid wafer is the altimeter man!
Yup I watched this and said aneroid wafer to the Dpe and failed

thank you sm for your effort to teach us
Great explanation. Thank you!
ps...it would help to put links to other videos in your description box.
Wilco! Thanks for the feedback!!
Thank you static port❤😂

Where are you located?
Right now I’m in Sioux Falls. Yesterday I was in Phoenix. Tomorrow I will be in Louisville. But live in Wichita ✈️ not sure where I’ll be flying next.
