      I've listened to Mike for many years, never have I heard him eager to knock any team esp. the Mets. Why would he do it? He wants his close relatives who are Mets fans to feel worse? As to the Yankees, so far they're having a better year than they've had for the past 18 yrs and it could all end if Judge, Soto, or Giancarlo gets injured. Baseball owners are generally rotten human beings. Met fans were stuck with Wilpons and now w. Steve Cohen.

    I have been a Mets fan since 1985, I saw all the great times back then, the promise of a legacy team with amazing talent. I saw that team break apart after 1988, I still remember seeing that 9th inning Mike Scioscia home run fly over the fence off of Doc Gooden, when he was already gassed. The team lost. I remember the infamous Vince Coleman bleach incident that followed years of mediocrity. I remember the big three pitchers of Pultzifer, Isi and Wilson fall to injury and never materializing. I remember 1998 and watching Rogers walk home the winning run in the Championship series against Atlanta in game 6. I remember losing to the Yankees in the WS, the called 3rd strike on Beltran in Game 7 championship game; the countless choke jobs losing the division. Watching them lose in the world series to KC, watching the pitchers fall apart, losing DeGrom, who is arguably one of the greatest pitchers to ever lace up for the mets....on and on it goes. Nothing but heartbreak and yes.....the organization has bad karma. It's real, It might have something to do with trading in a few miracle WS wins in 69 and 86....I would rather give those WS back if it meant a perennial winner with 5 or so championships. SMH.
    There is nothing worse than being a Met fan, tell your kids to cheer for the Yankees who have positive karma unlike the dirty little brother in Queens.

      That's because deGrom fell into the SABRmetric trap of trying to throw 102 on every pitch. It ruined his career. Bck when he paced himself and topped out at 96, he stayed in games longer and stayed healthy. He traded that in for a few months of eye-popping numbers in six inning starts, followed by endless injuries.

      There is no such thing as bad karma. The Red Sox had a Babe Ruth curse, until they began to run the team intelligently, whereupon they won four WS.
      I first began rooting for the Mets in 1979, so I had years of misery before I ever saw a winning team. Your list above contains a few errors, such as: Generation K was less about injury and more about underperformance; Bret Saberhagen was the bleach incident, while Vince Coleman was firecrackers and a golf club; and Kenny Rogers was '99, not '98. They missed the '98 playoffs after an epic collapse.

    Lindor and his massive deal have proven to be a mistake. Unfortunately for the Mets, he's unmovable because of that. Alonso must be traded this summer. Time to blow up this core. McNeil should have been traded two offseasons ago, he looks SHOT now. Mike can say all he wants about Diaz being out for a year and shrug it off, he's a real problem. That loss to Miami was a crippling one. He's isn't right and may well never be again. Sterns has quite a lot of work to do to rebuild this mess of a team. On the bright side, at least their manager can't stop smiling lol

      Why isn't he getting boooood the way Bobby Bonilla did ? Bonilla was better years ago but he basically got abused by fans and media.. And his contract was 29 million for 5 years PEANUTS to what Lindor makes. Bonilla's batting average was at least 265-270 sometimes 290 ... Lindor 205 batting average 10 years 341 million that's beyond pitiful

    • @buddyboye4203

      @@AnthonyScarpa-er3sqdude it's called inflation. Contracts have went up, you can't take the numbers at face value. As well as batting average not being valued as it used to be, look at Sweiber for example. Saying all that I agree Lindor deserves to be booed based on his contract and performance.

    • @johncummings5350
      @johncummings5350 2 месяца назад

      @@AnthonyScarpa-er3sq Lindor isn't comfortable in NY. He has never been comfortable in NY. He's not a guy that understands the NY mentality. It's a performance sensitive city and he wants fans to accept his failures despite his contract. That isn't ever going to happen and he needs to realize that his smile only works when he earns his contract through performance. Some guys don't have the ability to excel in the big city. He's clearly one of them. The Mets have no bats. You can't win if you don't score runs. Look at this teams scoring early in games. It's almost non existent. That puts huge pressure on a very ordinary pitching rotation. It creates havoc for a bullpen that expects little support from their offense.. This team needs to sell off everything. Alonso is gone if he hits free agency. They might as well get some solid prospects before the trade deadline for him. This team won't win next year either. Unfortunately..... they are three years from contention. That's when some of the moves they've made will get their footing at the big league level. Trade Baty too. He's scuffled for two years in Queens. He has an average glove....no speed.... and a below average bat with very questionable power. Vientos should be playing over him and should have been playing third base long ago. What is to like about this team?? They have a growing farm system......a very young catcher that will be one of the best.....a young pitcher in Christian Scott that will get better and better......a kid in Vientos that potentially could be a solid power bat..... and a GM that has everything at his disposal to improve this roster. He has assets to sell off for young prospects and an owner with money to spend in order to compete. Id tear this team down and build a new young team with speed and pitching. Speed kills in baseball. Speed creates runs. Speed keeps pitchers uncomfortable. Speed creates triples rather than doubles. Speed allows defenses to glove balls heading through the holes. Cohen has the money to add power and big names through free agency. Start building with youth and speed and add on from that

      I disagree with your proposal. For one thing, why would Cleveland do it? For another, other teams would be happy to take Lindor on the cheap. He is seen as a very good player, albeit less than he was in Cleveland, and they would assume that leaving NY would benefit him. If Steve Cohen wants to rid himself of Lindor, without expecting back any serious prospects, the Mets would have to pay a significant part of the contract, but would not have to eat a huge amount. There are teams in baseball who think they are close to contending seriously but need someone to anchor the shortstop position, who would be thrilled to have Lindor at short.

    So the Mets had a team meeting. It was reported that Nimmo later confirmed that it was shortstop Francisco Lindor who took the leadership role and organized the team meeting, but that many players spoke their mind.
    “My instincts were just like ‘we gotta talk’”, Lindor said after the meeting had adjourned. “I wanted to just let everyone talk. Tell me what’s happening. How do we change this? What can we do? Give me some knowledge. Give me something I haven’t heard.”
    🤦🏻‍♂️ Is Lindor serious? How about he starts by looking in the mirror and accept his huge part in this team’s downward spiral! He’s been killing us all year long! 😒

    The Mets have the highest team salary in 2024, they are paying 2 of the highest individual salaries to 2 players who play for other teams and were traded for players not MLB ready, they fired "The Manager of The Year" and replaced him with a career bench-coach, yet we're supposed to believe that Steve Cohen is playing 3-d chess while everyone is playing checkers. I don't think so. Worst run team in MLB.
