  • In 2001 the Toronto Transit Commission celebrated their 80th anniversary. Historic Toronto streetcar #327 was sent back to Toronto from our museum for the occasion. It led a parade of TTC streetcars that traveled through Toronto's busy streets.
#327 was originally built in 1893 for the Toronto Railway Company. In 1915 open-sided streetcars were banned from Toronto's streets, and #327 was put into dead storage. When the TTC took over Toronto's transit in 1921, #327 was scrapped. In 1934 for Toronto's centennial, the TTC built a replica of #327. After decades of parades and CNE displays, #327 was donated to our museum in 1968.
Footage is from the GPS Video DVD "Historic Open Car #327 returns to Toronto for the TTC’s 80th birthday."
The historic streetcar continues to operate seasonally at our museum. Come out and take a ride!
