My 4R70W has burned forward clutch. I've air-checked (vacuum checked) them and there was no leak. Solenoids and MLPS work properly.
What might be the reason for the burned clutch and what can be done to find it?
Transmission was made in 1995.

My transmission was just rebuilt but now when the car gets warmed up when you drive for like 30 minutes when you come to a complete stop saying push on the gas it jumps before catches first gear, but all the other girls is fine I replace all the solenoids the speed sensor but it's still doing it. I can start off in second gear fine do you have any idea what's the problem?
I've got a 97 f150.. All of a.suddon lost 3rd and overdrive.
Cervo snap ring both ends broken off but is in place. There was a valve in the body with no spring and was. Was. Not moving freely. Put in a refurbished valvebody. Still. no 3rd and overdrive..??? Any thought s?

At idle at a stop light during idle that's going to last for 2 or 3 min, should I just pop it in N to reduce stress in my 4R70Ws?
Also is it true that the only time an automatic wears is during shifting?

Hey buddy maybe you can help me I have a 1990 Ford bronco with the AOD transmission I had a problem with it when I first got it in the gears are slowly disappearing I figured out that the governor on the tail end of the transmission was the fault the screws backed out and the governor fell off however I cleaned it and put it back on and the transmission worked great had no problem for a while ran good for six months or longer put over 3000 miles on the transmission since I fixed it and the other day it started to act up I’d say within a 5 mile span of driving all of a sudden overdrive started acting up then third gear disappeared as well as overdrive and only gears I have is reverse first in second gear as long as you’ve got the throttle held as soon as you let go of the throttle the transmission goes in the neutral it will arrive as if it’s in neutral but it will still be in drive I did not hear no weird sounds it just happened all of a sudden and like I said it happened in a short range 5 miles or so if you could have any information that would help me please let me know I could use all the help I can get thanks in advance
Hello new subscriber here I have a question for you I have a 95 mustang 5.0 that I turbocharged and removed the factory ECU and installed a holley standalone ecu that I need to adjust the line pressure on 1st thru 4th gear. Now I had to remove to factory 95 aode Transmission and install a 2001 3.8 mustang 4r70w transmission. Would you know of a site that gives the specs for the line pressure for 3.8 4r70w? Online I can only find specs for 4.6l and 5.4l
After a forward clutch failure. Should the torque converter be replaced or cleaned. Its my vehicle and I wondering how risky it would be to reuse it? Thank you for your time.
If its an AOD you can flush it out. If AODE or 4R70W you need to replace the Torque Convertor.
So my father wrecked his 04 lariat and drove with fluid leaking out. Trans stopped working in drive. Added fluid and worked but sister drove it before leak was repaired. S.m.h. This time no forward gears only reverse. I replaced with used trans and same thing. No forward only reverse. Now I was thinking forward drum but also in this video it cuts for a minute talking about fluid in the electrical connection which both of my transmissions have had Fluid in there. What does this cause before I pull trans and pull it apart? Any help is appreciated. I took 2 months off work to do this and help him as he also had a bike wreck and has a leg amputation so he needs the truck before I leave. Body works done this is all that’s holding me and him back. Thank you again.
The fluid leaking into the connecter usually causes random problems with multiple random codes. The low fluid usually burns the forward clutches in the forward drum. amzn.to/3HXUcnq
When building a AOD using 4r70w gear train witch forward clutch to use thanks in advance.
I prefer the late model stamped steel 5 clutch AOD Forward drum and clutches.
Hi Vic . Being from Belgium , Europe, we don't have an extensive arsenal of parts we can lay our hands of.Neither are the parts the next day available ! So we have to do it with the parts we have.
Question : Is it interesting to convert a AOD with internals of a 4R70W ?

There are many such conversions I have done. I wish I would have videoed them all. I rebuilt over 500 transmissions per year for 25+ years. Unfortunately there was no time for filming nor editing.
I forget to mention the 1972 Mach1 Mustang behind me is equipped with an AOD that I built with the 4R70W planet set and Aluminum pump etc. I am very happy with the results.

Update ...my u joint connected to tail failed at around 55 during acceleration. Ripped tail and out put shaft on hwy.67
I've got an AOD that for some reason will not shift gears . I thought I checked everything in there but keep coming up with a no shit but yes it has strong reverse and strong first gear , the TV pressure is right at 35# , I'm still looking for the answer that will make it shift. No I don't have a lot of experience with automatic transmissions , I've only been to one school because my boss at the time wanted me to learn transmissions but of course I was knocking on 50 years old at that time. Now I just feel like I'm at a loss of some kind. I hope you might be able to help me or maybe show me things to look for
Governer pressure helps with the upshift. TV pressure delays the upshift. Google search how transmission governer works. I will try to make a video on it later but Im filming at least one repair every day and way behind on editing.
PS dont let it get ya down. Ive built 10s of thousands of units and I still have trouble with these things sometimes too.
@@saneauto I was wondering if you might have any ideas as what might be going on ? I read someone's comit about a bad oil pump but to me if the pump is bad it shouldn't do anything in any gear but this one does have reverse and I'm guessing direct because when I put it in manual low it's another neutral so as you can see I'm very confused. I know this is a very slim chance but in the event that there is a bad or broken sealing ring on the back of the pump what kind of problem would that make ?
I rebuilt my 2003 4r70w out of my f 150 , snap ring busted. Now at stop light ,press petal to go and first gear sluggish, I have to start in 2 ND to get up and go then I shift back to drive and all is fine. Any suggestions? I did patch job because of the cost.

@@anthonyscvpi5154 got used transmission, now I have low pressures to 1st gear or drive. Same symptoms before..I thinking it's a wiring issue.. I did everything right on the rebuild twice....

Never messed with aod trans, the forward pack has 2 friction plates that have friction on one side and nothing on the other side and they are back to back, is that right?
