This is a must rewatch again and again if you are rebuilding this Ford transmission, the details are clear especially the part with all bolts laid out and where they go, that alone is worth the time to watch, thank you David!!!
This rebuild does not address the major high failure areas of this type of transmission. An improved spiral retaining ring (76554RK) and OD servo pin (76833E) is a must have! Otherwise it won't last long! I would even recommend the whole ZIP kit (AODE-4R75E-ZIP) and Superior K0192. If towing capacity is needed, then solid forward drum 76654-01K.
This is the best 4r70w build video I've watched. Straightforward and just the right amount of information. Just curious what rebuild kit are you using? Or do you purchase components separately?
Cheap performance mod: Filter with tube and sump pan on ALL your AOD/4R70W/4R75W/4R44E/4R55E/5R55E transmissions (also called the 4x4 filter/pan) Thanks for the video!
That was AWESOME! Thank you Ultra & Dave. I came here after a fluid/filter change under our 96 f150 with 120K. I found three long thin arc shaped tin pieces, all with a inside hem. Like your different year parts gasket my pan has no sump dimple with a loss wire harness. Will the kit you used work with my old 4r70w? What parts should I add to it? Thank you again for the inspiring video David .
Glad I saw this extended version of your transmission rebuild. I noticed that you removed the neutral safety switch. So I need to remove that also in order to get the shift linkage off to replace the EPC Solenoid?
Besides being very precise putting everything back together, how do I know what part from old trans to replace? Is there any basic replacement set on the market?
@@Superdav138 The reason I ask is there is a code P0755 saying Shift Solenoid B. And I was thinking it was the TCC solenoid that's right next to the dual solenoid connected to the wiring harness. I'm a female that's new to fixing my own vehicle repairs and this code got me confused.🤔
I rebuilt mine it was all good but 6 months later it started falling out of 1st gear when I shifted to drive. If I manually shift through the gears, it worked fine, only issues when I go to put it in drive. I took it the transmission apart, clutches are in great condition, I did find that the sun gear and center support we're rubbing together, creating metal flakes. I also found that the direct drum was bound up not allowing it to spin. After taking it apart and putting it back together, it spun fine What could be my issue? Could have it been that drum, not spinning or something else that could have up done that. I'm a bit lost.
Hi, is this Ford 4R75 generally as good as other transmissions? I have one from a 2014 E350 with 35 inch tires that just blew up with only 60k miles. The transmission shop is saying these transmissions are not great for heavy vehicles with big tires.
Where did you buy your 4R70W kit with the snap rings, springs, check balls, etc. from or did you buy the parts below separately? Overdrive servo Reverse servo 1-2 accumulator 2-3 accumulator Case connector EPC solenoid TCC solenoid Dual shift solenoid Wiring harness
Learned more watching your 2 hour video than I ever was taught in my shop class or when I was apprenticing for a shop
Thank you Chase

Thank you very much David your knowledge of this transmission is impeccable, this will help me immensely. I watched the video from start to finish.
Thank you
Can't believe this only has 112 views, it's way better than some other 4R70 videos.
For some reason it doesn't seem to show up on searches?
I needed this on my first 4R70w. Thanks for this video I will be using it a few times soon.
you're very welcome

Спасибо Давид. Твое видео оказалось очень полезным. Еще раз большое спасибо.
Man David,I love your videos! I wish you’d post the whole 47re video!!!

Thank you, I'm Using Transtech, kit with raybestos clutches I purchase most of the parts from Transtar Industries
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge of how to rebuild a transmission in a right and very clear way God bless you

How does someone even come up with this alien technology. Alien to most people on earth.

So I need to remove that also in order to get the shift linkage off to replace the EPC Solenoid?
yes sure do
Can I just bring my transmission to you and have you rebuild it?
Besides being very precise putting everything back together, how do I know what part from old trans to replace? Is there any basic replacement set on the market?
yes a master kit always get the band servos and bands
Which one of those Solenoids are called Solenoid B? Is it one of those connected to the wiring harness in the valve body?
I don"t thimk there is a B solenoid you have shift , Tcc, & Epc

Nice
Is it worth rebuilding a 4r70w unit out of a 96 or should I look for a later year model unit
1996 to 2001 are the same

@@Superdav138 Thanks.
😊😊
Why won’t my reverse and forward drum come out like it all moves and wants to come out but feels like it’s stuck do I just need a better angle?
You did remove the band first?
I realized that and that’s what I did and it made everything come out thank you
But did that and replaced what I needed to and everything went in like it should so thank you for the very helpful video
You"re very welcome@@DarkseidGaming23
Bushings???
If they have wear replace them
@@Superdav138
The video title said "full rebuild", so I'm just surprised you didn't replace them.
How much does the whole parts list cost ?
about 700
