My aod not shifting out of first. It just revs high like its on neutral! Already did transmission fluid change. And whenever i drop the pan the fluid was all black and the filter too. Its posible that my clutches are worn. I put a bottle of tranx in in to clean anything inside but. It won't shift out of first. Plus i had a install a lokar kickdown cable. But i think my transmission done. I have a use one i can put in but what stall converter its good for? 1800-2200 good. For a 5.0 with mid cam, headers and carb thanks
If the fluid is burnt, then it needs to be rebuilt
How do you ever remember how to put that back together looks like a puzzle some many pieces and seal and snap rings everywhere

i actually have a strange metallic noise from the Trans .. was a little low on oil but not much.so I filled up a little ..noise is gone but someting isnt good ..has vibrations too...oil is clean as I can see ...running a TCI 10 inch converter .... broken Snap Ring__????
That sounds most likely to be a bearing issue
for the second time I have worn out Thrust Bearing on my 331cu Scat stroker, with AOD and 10" converter ..need new crank again ... Converter or Trans problem ?? where i have to look..spaces and free plays are all good ..engine with typical bolt on Mods, makes maybe 350 HP..thanks
Check the clearance between your torque converter and flexplate when you have it bolted up to the engine. Before pulling the converter forward to the flexplate there should be ideally 1/8" but not more than 3/16" of clearance.

@@MonsterTransmission ok engine is in an Space was perfect ..using a new TCI 10" Converter 432800..befor it was using a Roadrunner 10" Converter ..
Was the AOD used in the 80s model 250s? Or was the C6 for the 250 and 350?
