The idea is good, but it looses in application. Needs infinite travers and elevation. Long ago I saw similar items in the Gall's fire and police catalog; don't remember pricing. Thanks for showing us.
That light defies the point of SPOTLIGHT, if you can't stop on target. That and the noise of the motor might be the difference between it and a more expensive version.

I agree, it should be able to traverse fully. Stronger magnet. Waterproof etc.

I think one of these would be useful on an overland vehicle. Not so much ok crawlers.

True but you could mount this light in other locations. You probably don't want it on your hood anyway, that was just for demonstration reasons ;)
