- Hey all, throughout December, and into January, I'll be putting out brief history videos on all 12 NPB teams. The next video will be on the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters.

It's amazing how much the Carp were instrumental in the revival of Hiroshima following WW2 as the team gave the city hope to look forward rather than be stuck looking at the scars of the past, especially when they themselves almost didn't make it early on due to the lack of players who wanted to play there to start. It's stories like that of the Carp that make NPB really special and hopefully the Carp can get back on their feet again soon and give a title to the people of Hiroshima. Great video as always Gaijin Baseball. Can't wait for the next one. :)
Hey you forgot to mention that the Carp fans were actually the pioneers of the Japanese baseball cheering style that features trumpets and all!
(Sings Loud)
Carpu Carpu Carpu Hiroshima HIROSHIMA CARPU
I was in Hiroshima this past month and went to a Carp game. I was whistling that tune for days after.
Can't wait to see them face the Giants in June!
Ca-pu Ca-pu Ca-pu Hiroshima. Hiroshima CA-PU!
First heard about the Carp because of the wall climbing catch that went around about a decade ago.
Oh hey, it's NJPW wrestler Tetsuya Naito's favorite baseball team! Excellent stuff as always, GB!
This guy had a bat breaking cutter? Sheesh, bro was Mariano Rivera before Mariano Rivera
It sounds more like he was Doc Halladay with that repertoire
My favorite CL team.
8:43 Don't forget Brad Eldred! :)
I really like the episode that the carp was originally “carps” at the very beginning of franchise history.😂 I mean Carps is kind of grammatically wrong, ‘cause the word is uncountable.
I do love this franchise.
Thanks for an amazing video.
Technically Mazda Stadium's official name is Hiroshima Municipal Stadium as it's still owned by the city but admistered by the team lol
Ok, so I am going to Japan in a couple of months, and taking my young kids to Tokyo dome to watch these guys play the Giants. Can I please ask based on current form which side do you think will win, bearing in mind that a month can be an age in sport? I also watched your Giants video which was very informative, thank you.
I love Mazda's Wankel rotary-powered sports cars but not the Carp. Anyone having the same preferences here?
Lets just say I want an FC3S as a project car
@GaijinBaseball I'd prefer RX-8, always believed paddle shifters should have replaced traditional clutch-and-stick shift
