  • Here I trade in my Kawasaki ER-6F for a 2011 new Triumph Bonneville America. See me ride around and meet up with Reuben and his Harley Davidson Nightster.

Well, well .... this is truly retro - full circle if you will. In high school (1964), the fast bikes of the day were from the UK; Triumph Bonneville, BSA Road Rocket, Norton Atlas, Royal Enfield TT Interceptor. I owned the last two albeit used. The Bonneville and Road Rocket were 650 cc and the Atlas and Enfield were 750 cc. The Atlas had a lot of torque. All seemed to have a high degree of maintenance but to me it was a 'romance'. The exhaust note when you cracked the throttle was fabulous.

I've had mine a year now, most comfortable bike I've ever had, you need to get some descent pipes, sounds like a sewing machine

I used to have one. Nice enough cruiser let down by poor rear shocks. I had Vance and Hines exhausts on mine, sounded great. Enjoy. Ride safe.

@clarkeovision YES!!! Immediately remove the Air Injection system and plug it with the kit you can get from a Triumph dealer. Then get the pipes reamed (remove all but one of the baffles), then get the system jetted for the new back-pressure. You will have an awesome bike with nice performance and a good attitude.

Ha. Fair dues, m8. Your perception of me is way off the mark, just like your perception of the bike, but to each their own. Anyhoo, I've no interest in wasting my time with pointless internet flame wars, so I'll happily let this die a death. Feel free to fire a parting volley if you must. As for me, I'm off to snap ma fingers to some ultra-hip Sandie Shaw albums. Wha-heyyyyyy.

I gave up bikes through a bad hip and now can only ride classic Scooters etc but if I could I would have this bike im ignoring the haters as well as im short the low seat would be right for me and I prefer the British motor over the Harley but they sound better

Hip replacement here Pat. I ride a 2012 Suzuki Burgman 650 exec. Might move onto a cruiser with a low seat that I can throw my leg over. ( 63 yrs old )

@allerton124 I love my America, have driven it around France this year for a short touring holiday and it was great fun, see my channel for the video. I have had no problems, it's easy to ride, fast enough for my liking and very comfortable but best of all it looks great. It handles well with a pillion and luggage. I would love to get some louder pipes but apart from that I love it.

Change the pipes the standard ones sound terrible I have exactly the same model and colour I changed the pipes more power and sounds like the bike it should the standard pee shooters do not do the bike justice

  • @IMOLEGREGG

exactly. Why build a Harley wannabe, triumph has a rich history. Loose the flab and build some bikes in the true spirit of the (original) bonneville or daytona twins.

I'm sorry but that bike needs some serious work. It looks so generic. So do a lot of there Harley imitations. Don't get me wrong, I love triumphs. I have a Street Triple myself but there cruisers suck. The style is so out dated. We need better from triumph. Set the pace don't fallow. Give us a cruiser/street rod with the 1050 and the 675 triple engines. Light and agile with some balls.
